Checkout the freddym223 channel. This guy really gives a series of excellent lessons of the basics of how some of these chords in this video work together. I've been playing over thirty years and I can tell you it is an excellent starting point. I check these vids out to get another perspective and to fill in little blank spots in my knowledge base.
"Jazz Chords" sound jazzy because they major/minor 7ths, major/minor 6ths, added/suspended fourths, raised/flatted 5ths, raised/flatted ninths, and combinations thereof, NOT because they contain at least 4 notes.
he is making fun of his canadian accent. i noticed it too, but it's not that bad, so i don't know why he thought it was funny.. just talking out of his ass i guess..
yeah he's definatly talking out of his ass since i've never met a canadian that has ever said aboot instead of about..however we say 'eh' a lot but it just comes naturally..just kinda slang i guess..but we can pernounce words for shit sakes.
That part about how many notes it contains is hilarious like 4 notes will sound more meiotic than a triad, its the 7th that makes it jazzy. and you should have had chord diagrams in the video, or at least had a link to where u can get the diagram.
nice lesson. i have a suggestion or two. if u could pan out just enough to see the start of the headstock, i have an instant reference point of what fret you're on w/o having to think about it. also, if u own a mixer maybe u can plug the camcorder out into that, then run two mics, one to your amp and one to your voice. the audio would be a lot better. if not then a 2 prong adapter directly out of your camcorder w/mics plugged out of that. Thanks! yay Canada
maybe im just being an ass, but your tone had a lot of treble in it. i think it would sound a lot more jazzy with the tone knob rolled back a little. but thats just my preference. nice chord progression though. =]
I've seen this attitude in jazz before. There's an affectionate two word term that applies here. The first is "jazz". The second starts with n and ends with i.
lovedit, thanks mannn

i think it just may be the poor audio recording. i noticed his voice was very high treble as well

I wouldn't suggest giving a jazz lesson if you don't play jazz, which I don't think you do looking at your voicings.
