  • Man, where can I get this audio?

  • I love Tool, but this opening is so awesome that it's kind of a let down that Sober is the song that follows. I wish they had done a crazy rearrangement of the song to match the atmospheric intro.

  • the notes that fripp was playing sounded like the same ones at the end of merkaba, which they used to play before sober didn't they???

  • Is this Fripp intro available on any of his solo or King Crimson albums?

  • Uffffff de lo mejor !

  • Is there any way I can find this album??

  • when i first heard Crimso's RED album it sounded like a promise of something more; something heavier and more intelligent. the next crimson i heard was the Discipline Trilogy which was amazing, but somehow not the heavy i wanted and wished for. there were other bits of it floating around, but i didn't feel it happening until the Undertow album by Tool. the fact that fripp and company toured with maynard and friends seemed so satisfying to hear about. nice

  • @hippomancy RED is a fantastic album, but don't forget it was released in 1974. In that time it was a real step for music, they were always pushing the limits of experimentation. If you expected something heavier in that time, well... Maybe you'd like better Larks Tongues in Aspic.

Something you cannot say about King Crimson is that his music's not intelligent

  • @TheAbdabsSound please don't misunderstand me- i love RED. my fave Crimso album that satisfies that itch for heavy. i just was saddened that Fripp felt he'd explored that vibe enough and was willing to walk away. Lark's Tongue and Starless & Bible Black are also great. each new piece from Fripp and company are an adventure, and i often describe them as a band hard to love but rewarding if you stick with it and allow yourself to acclimatise to each new product. a Tool/Crimso duo was massive.

  • @hippomancy Well, of course you know, the Discipline band was a different band, member-wise. I think it had 2 of the 3 guys who made Red, and then 2 new guys-- with Belew as the main songwriter.

You might find more of what you were looking for on some of Fripp's solo albums. Or, have you heard Stickmen yet? They get pretty heavy at times.

  • @minusjason i know and love fripp solo- despite my joy in heavy, his Fripp\Eno Evening Star is one of my favourite albums\discs... i actually have been hoping the discipline era group might do one more disc. the latest associated release "Scarcity of Miracles" has its own charms, but lacks a certain spontaneity i've gotten used to in Crimso. Stickmen are fun, but feels more side project than main event. i was primarily commenting one the blend of Crimso and Tool. wish for real original collab...

  • Really great. Shit, I wish I hadn't missed this tour.

  • Thank you so much for sharing MorTunia! :)

  • @WoodRatGirl Is a pleasure. :)

  • my friends head just exploded

  • I was13 in 1969, thus began my love affair with king crimson music , Ive never been a poser sell out, never ever listened to radio crap and absolutely loath rap crap, on any level, this is like knowing mozart , chopin , and wagner all rolled up in electronics , check my open playlist , lol , russell the wizzard on myspace and , . . . in Roswell New Mexico,

  • wow

  • my two favorite bands touring together before i knew who either of them were ( i was in 1st grade) = FUCK!

  • Yeah! Amazing!

  • What an incredible mash-up
