  • I just found your videos today. After having UC for 35 years (yes I said 35 years) my last colonoscopy showed signs of dysplasia. My GI has recommended surgery because of that and because I was diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis last year. My odds for colon cancer are now over 50%.

It's been very beneficial to hear about this from someone who's gone through it. It's helped me realize that it will be OK. Thanks for all the information!

  • hey dude whats the SCD diet?

  • SCD stands for Specific Carbohydrate Diet. It's a diet that tells you which types of food you can eat and which kinds you can't. Search for the YouTube user "fernpixel" She is on the SCD and it goes fairly well for her. Message her and she can tell you more about it. I know very little as I didn't know about it before I had surgery.

  • to 814 If doctors dont know the problem then how can they know the solution. Pooter 814 have you done the SCD (diet). Please Please give a 100% chance, I have heard people with crohns which in my opionon is worst then colitis. I have had UC for 22 yrs, thats just my experience. Oh one more thing F surgery, just my experience again sorry

  • I will be interested to know how you feel about this in the future- in my opinion colitis is a gradual physical problem- with a new colon seems it would just be a matter of time for it to come back- hope it doesn't- I've had it for almost 4 years- medicines worked only short term- I am trying alternatives as when a doctor tells you they don't know the cause how can they know the cure???
