The funny thing is that it is the other way around. Since 2000, over 7000 rockets flew into Southern Israel from Hamas. Also in 2000, Ehud Barak offered Yassir Arafat a deal which would give Palestinians a state, but Arafat disagreed and chose violence instead so that they could claim all of Israel.
Also, they never just "took" land. 5 months before the Arab Israeli war, New Israel's Arab neighbors raided streets and attacked because they wanted no Jewish state.

Those who did not attack still live in Israel today, there are over 1 million Arabs in Israel with not only the same rights as any Jew, but more rights than they would have in any other Arab country. Also, and even Mahmoud Abbas said this, it was the Arab armies from the countries which attacked Israel in the 1948 war who encouraged Arabs to flee, and some fled by themselves.
