  • What do mean was??..............She still is...

  • wow she was hot

  • LOVE HER!

  • Wow...Connie kinda does disco....fab!

  • How much i love you Connie ...your music in Arica... Chile in 1960's in the beach with my friends... still I have a young heart!!.

  • I swear to my mother that I will married her.. no matter what!!!! Oh God!!!

  • As with most Bandstand performances, the whole thing is lipsynched. Note she is constantly moving the mike away from her mouth, and the her mike cutoff (moving mike away) and ending voice on audio on "Everybody's Somebody's Fool" and "Where the Boys Are" doesn't match. If you watch someone's neck muscles you can usually tell when they're faking it. Bandstand always did this, it was annoying. I hated that show.

  • Dont find singers like this anymore

  • Fabulous

  • Fabulous

  • What is the story here? Year? Event? I'd guess early '80s, but curious what this is from.

  • @theOlLineRebel American Bandstand 30th Anniversary

  • One of my favourite singers! A real idol of my generation!

  • the greatest singer that ever was!!!!

  • What a wonderful talent...that was a tribute to the great Dick Clark who did so much for Connie (and many others). I noticed many were there...smiling. Thanks for sharing this!

  • No claim to fame here guitardan46, just an old drummer tryin to get by. Wrong for me to dis such a legend!!

  • ALL Lip synched! Notice how the sound of the sound does NOT change when she swings the microphone to and from her mouth...She admitted to doing this for years when she performed on a Dick Clark special as she lost her vocals when she had an operation in the 70's.............

  • @chrissen1 She's not lip-synching any of this performance. I can pretty much tell if songs are LSed, but this is not one of them. When people post on YT, sometimes the vocals and video get out of synch. That's what you're seeing, but it isn't too bad of of synch. Sorry, but you're wrong on this one. :-)

  • Hall of Lame is more like it!!

  • @MegaPc09 If you don't like it, just go away. :-) What's your claim to fame?

  • Gracias por el video, siempre voy a seguirla me gusta mucho Connie!

    Perú.

  • I know Dolly Parton and Michael Jackson too.

  • I know Connie. That's not her nose.

  • without qustion the greatest female singer ever was she can sing the sox off any song in italian, english, spanish shes one of a kind

  • Connie deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, but no because she is "The Queen Of Rock And Roll". She was more pop, like inductee Brenda Lee. Janis Joplin was probably the closest thing to "the Queen Of Rock and Roll". As far as her support of the Vietnam war goes, that has nothing to do with it. Bob Seger was pro-Vietnam was (at least in the early days) and he is in The Hall.

  • @Lampshade51 Connie supported and supports the troops. The Vietnan vets have never forgotten her.

  • I suspect Connie hasn't been inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame due to her support of the Vietnam War. If you wrote or sang a single anti-war hit, burnt out or died of a drug overdose, your in; but, for performing for the troops your out. If you were to put 100 people in a room, played Connie's version of God Bless America, she'd be in before the song ended with a standing "O". Dick Clark said it best, "If Elvis is the King of R&R, Connie Francis is surely the Queen of R&R". Works for me.

  • @qwer123211 i have to correct u on something, Connie didn't support the war, she has said in many interviews it was a hell hole and a waste of humanity, she went to entertain the boys :)

  • One of my favorite singers of all time. No one has a voice like Connie. I wonder what she's doing now.

  • MY EYES WELL UP EVERYTIME I WATCH THIS CLIP....

  • thanks for this paul, Connie is one of my idols, awesome video...

  • Having an amazing singing voice like Connie`s is one thing...but, it should be illegal to have this much charisma and on-stage magnetism!!!

  • A legend.

  • She is the greatest singer ever, and do I agree with everyone here who says she belongs in the Rock n Roll HOF.

But, seriously...does anyone really think Connie Francis is losing sleep over this?!?

It`s the last thing she needs to "validate" her incomparable career.

  • Amazing.

  • Absolutely FANTASTIC!

  • what year was this? where was this taken? This was Awesome-- Thanks

  • I don't think the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is important. Popularity contest. Rap beats out Connie and Petula Clark. However, in my opinion, Connie is the biggest omission. Eminem will be in soon, and maybe Lady Gaga will follow.

  • @VealParmigiana

Dionne Warwick also has yet to be inducted!! They should be ashamed of themselves.

  • @ssstate727 Dionne Warwick in my opinion, was perhaps a little better vocalist than Diana Ross, although Diana was also a good actress, and certainly they both should be in Hall of Fame.

  • @VealParmigiana They also have not inducted Dionne Warwick!!??

  • @VealParmigiana Very true. Connie should have been among the very forst to get inducted and not only has she never been inducted, but she has not even been nominated. If you are not nominated, no one can vote for you.

  • @Shrinksjp I was informed by the RRHofF that talent and chart successes have nothing to do with who gets into the Hall.....it's all at the whim of the panel. Unfortunate. I agree, Connie should have been one of the first to be inducted!

  • @stevemichaels2020 Well, I think that tells it all: The RRH of F is a joke. Ignore it as irrelevant!

  • What year is this great video? Would be so great to hear her live, in concert, doing this very medley. Could we get a clearer video and sound?

  • The best singer of all time miss Connie Francis she have a privileged voice. Her beatufiful a melious is a gift from God thanks for sharing this video

  • She's the Greatest.

  • Connie is my faverote female singer of all time. She's the best.

  • Bravisssimo!!!!

  • I'm sitting here applauding also !!!!Take a bow Connie......Bravo...

  • @harmesy37

Ya are swell as always my Mate.. this is for the sake of our teenager times... I cleared my lipsick off !!! Ain't gonna have any problems...hahahaha... and everybody is somebody's fool...that's righty ... pls. take care....laggie24

  • my uncle is hard of hearing, so when he got his hearing aid Connie voice was the first voice he heard,

  • Not in the Rock n' Roll Hall of SHAME....Go Figure!

  • @qwer123211 I can't figure it out for the life of me either! to me no female exemplifies rock and roll more than Connie Francis and Brenda Lee.

  • @qwer123211 She is too good for that Hall.

  • @qwer123211 Ms. Francis never won a grammy either. These award omissions make a joke out of the credibility of these awards and music institutions. It's like if they were to give basketball awards to all the greatest players who ever lived and not giving one to Michael Jordan.

  • @qwer123211 Connie was great-HOF what is wrong with you?

  • @qwer123211 She's not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because most of her work has not been in Rock and Roll. It would make as much sense as putting Michael Jordan in the Baseball hall of fame.

  • @agingstoner LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL she was the first female rock n roll singer she origionated the idea of female singers using rock n roll triplets in their arrangements and she was known as "the princess of rock n roll"

  • Connie's one of the very best singer I love to see and admire. Her beautiful voice never drift away as time goes by. Many thanks for sharing.

  • I went to see Connie and was so let down that she crammed some of her great hits into a quick medley (like this). I guess she is sick of singing them but, honestly, these hits are what we want to hear. So many artists do this. Martha Reeves for example sung a few lines from "Dancing in the Streets" when I saw her. Sorry, gals and guys but your new stuff is less interesting. Sing your old favorites!

  • I AGREE! They should sing the whole song--that is what made the fans love them. I remember my mother being incredibly disappointed when she and my dad saw Wayne Newton in Vegas and she said "HE DIDN'T EVEN SING DANKE SCHOEN...HOW COULD HE NOT SING DANKE SCHOEN??" Wayne didn't even put that gem in a medley...my poor mother : ( LOL!!!!

  • The greatest singer ever. I love this It sounds like a tribute to Dick Clark. No one is as good as Connie

  • Yes, its maybe for dick clarck and some of her fans and friends.

  • I remember seeing this on TV as a kid. It was a bandstand special, and Dick Clark was so moved by her appearance.

  • Hammer-Stimme!!

  • YES, The Greatest Singer forever.

  • maravillo su voz es al misma de siempre

    que linda

  • Ms Frances, I have been a fan of yours since Where The Boys Are.long time. lol Know what happened in Vegas. Hate the hell out of it. As a man that s not afaird of other people or their opinions. By that I mean, I don t give a damn. They re not paying my car payment, ll Get my point? I would be so proud to have you on my arm. Anywhere, anytime. Thak you for being you

  • Who old is this video and where was it shot? I remember her like it was yesterday. She was a delight. What a voice.

  • Connie is one of my favorite female singers. I'm thinking the last time I saw her was on the Statler Brothers Show. I love this video. Thank you.

  • she is the greatest the female singer of all time

  • Does anybody know when she'll be in Illinois? I wanna see her in person coz she's my long time favorite.

  • Connie just finished her tour with a concert in Pennsylvania. She will be doing

a concert in Nice, France this summer and then she returns to performing here in the States in October at the Lyric Opera

    House in Baltimore, Maryland.

  • What a natural talent she is! I'l bet she never smoked!!!!

I am singing a song of hers tomorrow in a competition! Where the boys are! I hope I do it justice!!

I'd love to see her today- I hear she still sings-anyone know where she is at the moment?

  • actually connie did smoke kool cigarettes lol

  • @ILUVCF1961 did she really smoke?

  • Another great singer with a splendid voice!

  • Damn i am suprised that her voice is still the same. She's still got it.

  • I just got back from seeing Connie in concert....April 25 in Pennsylvania. She still sounds great! Met her backstage. A very warm, friendly and gracious person.

  • Her wonderful voice never fades..oh I just love her songs..

  • Those of you who agree with me that Connie SHOULD be in the Rock and Roll hall of Fame,,help me by writing to the foundation and encourage them to induct her,,here is the address...

Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Foundation

    1290 Avenue of the Americas

    NY NY 10104

  • she's not in the R&R hall of fame?

    r u kidding?

  • No I am not kidding, she is not there yet..help me get her in there by writing to the address a I provided and please ask the foundation to consider her for enxt year,,Thanks

  • what era of music was this ??

  • From 30 years before you were born.

  • Love you Connie and what a shame she is not yet in the Rock and Roll hall of Fame,,shame shame on the foundation for not inducting her yet,,get off your duffs and get this much desereved talented lady in there..

  • In the audience it looks like Maurice White of Earth, Wind and Fire, Charlie Daniels, and Teddy Pendergrass. Connie is beautiful and sounds great. What a voice. She was the Britney of her day in terms of popularity. But Connie had a real voice and was so classy.

  • Totally agree. Connie was a perfectionist!

  • oh wow, I cannot believe how her voice is still so good when she's so much older

  • Sure looks like Charlie Daniels in the audience toward the end.

  • Is she in the rock and roll hall of fame? Sure hope so.

  • Wow Connie is still beautiful. See you don't need plastic surgery to look great.

  • Hey does anyone recognise the man in a close-up shot just between her 1st and 2nd songs? ____

I'm pretty sure that's Chubby Checker. He was in his Hey-Day back then too. Probably an admirer just like the rest of us! (Chubby had a big hit with, "Let's Twist Again") Connie had a great voice. Good for Female vocalists (or anone!) to watch her techniquw and learn.

She took her time and hit the big notes when she had to! Great voice control with such quality!!!

  • Yes siree bob, that was Chubby Checker,,,cute wasnt he? She had the best cords of any of the women of her day. I love her!

  • Fantastic, in college we use to sit out on the grass by the 'Snack Shack' and listen to these on a fairly large portable radio as they were in those days. Thanks for posting this

  • What year was this?

  • No polite applause here! Genuine admiration from her peers---the highest accolade.

  • Excellent! Thank you for posting.

  • I saw her last night live in New Jersey and she is still incredible. Her songs take us back to a time when the world was a better and kinder place. I LOVE YOU CONNIE.

  • judging by the fashions, it looks like some time in the mid 80's. Anyone know for sure?

  • 1981

  • How long ago was this video taken? She looks just absolutely wonderful.

  • I agree she's still stunning. The footage is from 1981 according to Shrinksjp.

  • Thanks so much for posting this video. It does bring back so many family memories. She is the best. Can't wait to see her later this year. Those indeed were the days. What concert was this?

  • This brings back so many memories for me...I simply love her..I used to sing all her tunes standing at the juke box. Yes...was a nickel a song. Even at 7 yrs old..I knew a singer when I heard one. Her voice is like Velvet.
