As with most Bandstand performances, the whole thing is lipsynched. Note she is constantly moving the mike away from her mouth, and the her mike cutoff (moving mike away) and ending voice on audio on "Everybody's Somebody's Fool" and "Where the Boys Are" doesn't match. If you watch someone's neck muscles you can usually tell when they're faking it. Bandstand always did this, it was annoying. I hated that show.
What a wonderful talent...that was a tribute to the great Dick Clark who did so much for Connie (and many others). I noticed many were there...smiling. Thanks for sharing this!
ALL Lip synched! Notice how the sound of the sound does NOT change when she swings the microphone to and from her mouth...She admitted to doing this for years when she performed on a Dick Clark special as she lost her vocals when she had an operation in the 70's.............
@chrissen1 She's not lip-synching any of this performance. I can pretty much tell if songs are LSed, but this is not one of them. When people post on YT, sometimes the vocals and video get out of synch. That's what you're seeing, but it isn't too bad of of synch. Sorry, but you're wrong on this one. :-)
Connie deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, but no because she is "The Queen Of Rock And Roll". She was more pop, like inductee Brenda Lee. Janis Joplin was probably the closest thing to "the Queen Of Rock and Roll". As far as her support of the Vietnam war goes, that has nothing to do with it. Bob Seger was pro-Vietnam was (at least in the early days) and he is in The Hall.
I suspect Connie hasn't been inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame due to her support of the Vietnam War. If you wrote or sang a single anti-war hit, burnt out or died of a drug overdose, your in; but, for performing for the troops your out. If you were to put 100 people in a room, played Connie's version of God Bless America, she'd be in before the song ended with a standing "O". Dick Clark said it best, "If Elvis is the King of R&R, Connie Francis is surely the Queen of R&R". Works for me.
@qwer123211 i have to correct u on something, Connie didn't support the war, she has said in many interviews it was a hell hole and a waste of humanity, she went to entertain the boys :)
I don't think the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is important. Popularity contest. Rap beats out Connie and Petula Clark. However, in my opinion, Connie is the biggest omission. Eminem will be in soon, and maybe Lady Gaga will follow.
@ssstate727 Dionne Warwick in my opinion, was perhaps a little better vocalist than Diana Ross, although Diana was also a good actress, and certainly they both should be in Hall of Fame.
@VealParmigiana Very true. Connie should have been among the very forst to get inducted and not only has she never been inducted, but she has not even been nominated. If you are not nominated, no one can vote for you.
@Shrinksjp I was informed by the RRHofF that talent and chart successes have nothing to do with who gets into the Hall.....it's all at the whim of the panel. Unfortunate. I agree, Connie should have been one of the first to be inducted!
The best singer of all time miss Connie Francis she have a privileged voice. Her beatufiful a melious is a gift from God thanks for sharing this video

@qwer123211 Ms. Francis never won a grammy either. These award omissions make a joke out of the credibility of these awards and music institutions. It's like if they were to give basketball awards to all the greatest players who ever lived and not giving one to Michael Jordan.
@qwer123211 She's not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because most of her work has not been in Rock and Roll. It would make as much sense as putting Michael Jordan in the Baseball hall of fame.
@agingstoner LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL she was the first female rock n roll singer she origionated the idea of female singers using rock n roll triplets in their arrangements and she was known as "the princess of rock n roll"
I went to see Connie and was so let down that she crammed some of her great hits into a quick medley (like this). I guess she is sick of singing them but, honestly, these hits are what we want to hear. So many artists do this. Martha Reeves for example sung a few lines from "Dancing in the Streets" when I saw her. Sorry, gals and guys but your new stuff is less interesting. Sing your old favorites!
I AGREE! They should sing the whole song--that is what made the fans love them. I remember my mother being incredibly disappointed when she and my dad saw Wayne Newton in Vegas and she said "HE DIDN'T EVEN SING DANKE SCHOEN...HOW COULD HE NOT SING DANKE SCHOEN??" Wayne didn't even put that gem in a medley...my poor mother : ( LOL!!!!
Ms Frances, I have been a fan of yours since Where The Boys Are.long time. lol Know what happened in Vegas. Hate the hell out of it. As a man that s not afaird of other people or their opinions. By that I mean, I don t give a damn. They re not paying my car payment, ll Get my point? I would be so proud to have you on my arm. Anywhere, anytime. Thak you for being you
