an opel omega Evo 500 is totally different then the Omega (Carlton) Lotus

the evo500 has an 3 liter inline 6 engine

and the lotus is an 3,6 liter bi-turbo with 377 BHP

It can still overtake any BMW Porsche etc because it's not limited on 250 km/h

it actually runs 300 km/h

no he is RIGHT, GM used to own lotus but thats alot of years ago. yet lotus helped develop alot of opel/vauxhall models and engine wise lotus used to have opel engines in for example the elise

The Mk1 and early Mk2 Elises used Rover K series engines before they switched to Toyota ones (albeit Lotus tuned), but you're right that GM used to own Lotus. Lotus were responsible for the engine in the early 90s Corvette ZR1 for example.

As for the Lotus Carlton/Omega - the right hand drive UK versions was sold as the 'Carlton', whilst the left-hand drive mainland Europe versions were sold as the 'Omega' because of the different Vauxhall/Opel brands.

Actually peak HP and torque is not always at or even close to highest RPM (redline). So flooring it as you suggested might not give you the big picture.
