Get a "Zero Water" purifier. You can find them at Walgreens. It is the only pitcher-type filter that removes Flouride from tap water. It actually comes with a digital meter that tests for solids and chemicals in water. It uses reverse osmosis, so there's ONLY water coming out. Very good unit, about $20-30 or so.
Stock up on replacement filters for it though, you may someday need lots of them.
You could pour seawater or puddle water into it and probably get pure drinking water from it.
@Grimblix It doesn't do micro biology so I wouldn't drink puddle water, but it is a pretty sweet filter for the price. I don't think it uses RO but it says the results are comparable in ways.
It's sad that the powers that be can afford to spend the money to fly the sprayers!
