  • my mom loves this song and im proud of that

  • This is what M listens to at night...all secret like on his personal Ipod.

  • this song is the fucking balls!!

  • sage is my hero.

  • funny....my mom always says lines from this song

  • hey guys, i doubt anyone cares but i have nothing to lose by trying. yes, i know its generic as everyone on youtube is asking to check out their rap channel, but if you have a few minutes to spare wether you wanna legitimately check out my music or visit my page to laugh at how bad you assume i am, it would be much appreciated if you checked my shit out. thanks

  • Oh yeah, and to bring up the fact that eminem doesn't have a goddamn degree in communication doesnt mean a fucking thing obviously .is that a prerequisite to rap nowadays? jesus christ. do you think all the dope rappers that have exsisted have degrees in communication? a fucking monkey could get a degree nowadays you fucking idiot.

  • god, i was trying to enjoy the song but got distracted by the top comment, which is such a typical elitist comment. eminem is obviously super dope, and can be an intillectual rapper as well. two completely different rappers, both talented and have different strong points. enjoy the music

  • eydea , slug ,sage are on my opinnion only good preformers ... they have so strong lyrics and they never sold their style for some cash like this wannabes eminem and company...

  • I know what that's like Sage ... this song makes me cry to this day. Only great music can do that. I can relates so bad, it sucks. Awesome song.

  • who remembers when sage francis dedicated this song to eyedea at paid dues! so epic gave me chills....

  • @CheneyTheDevil theyre both talented as fuck but different, they shouldnt be compared

  • Loving this 9 Crimes Dubstep remix!

  • So sick

  • This song is just too fucking good to listen to only once.

    REPEAT.(:

  • the opening is andy milanknockis show from mtv..

  • damn he's sooooo sick. he lives in providence ri where i live!!!

  • all of you saying eminem is so great because he can freestyle ok thats fine, does he have an associates in communcation and bachelors degree in journalism? is he known for having lyrics so deep and intellectual the majority of our ignorant population cant understand? just because corporate america supports eminem putting him on tv and radio doesnt make him any better just more of a commercial product! because he is shallow enough for you to understand hahahaha!!!

  • @d510g1c nice!

  • @d510g1c exactly my friend exactly

  • @d510g1c i love you

  • @d510g1c I love Sage Francis but you gotta love Eminem too. Freestyling is the utter soul of Hip Hop. Whilst sage is a lyrical genious Eminem is one of the best ever because of his longetivity, and the fact that he sells (which i dont care too much about)

Anyways fuck talking about other artists that have nothing to do with song.

  • @d510g1c Dont get me wrong, eminem is alright, but not since the mathers lp. Sage francis has been gold from beginning to now, i dont say end cause sage aint done.

  • @d510g1c actually eminems a great mc, yes over the years he has become less great but still great. either way sage francis is still amazing, so is eminem just in a different way

  • @d510g1c as much as i somewhat agree for a lot of corporate rappers Em, at least early Em, is a little different. He speaks on a different level about some real shit that he has experienced. He has gotten a lot of people through a lot of hard times.

  • @d510g1c and I hate having to explaining this to every poser Eminem fan out there... which is almost everyone.

  • @MrGuitargod123

I like him AND Sage but I like Sage a little bit more. ;D

  • @d510g1c That's very closed minded of you.

  • @d510g1c they're both good so why do you promote an argument in the first place. just appreciate each of them, you have to at least like eminem's first album i can't imagine you wouldn't. you can't expect every rapper to be like sage, eyedea, aesop, krino etc. their minds are far beyond normal haha

  • @vintastic319 I see your point. but generally the argument is that Eminem is super well known, (a lot of ignorant cats even consider him the only good white rapper), and the fact that people like sage, eyedea, sole, are virtually unknown, while they are, (atleast my opinion) on a whole different level of complexity and skill and are much more deserving of the mass recognition, attention, & praise than eminem or any other promoted commercial rapper. But sadly, mediocracy holds sway

  • @d510g1c i am really drunk. to say eminem is a better freestyler i think is a failed argument simply because eminem lost scribble 97 to j u ice i think. and sage won against blueprint i think wearing that dope metallica shirt ahha. sages lyrics are dope cuz he can relate to many people. prolly cuz he has a communication degree. comparing eminem to sage is like comparing apples to oranges. popularity does not justify talent but i believe both are very talented

  • @MrNewbsikle fuck yeah Scribble history

  • @d510g1c Sage can freestyle, too.

  • @d510g1c You should listen to some more Eminem, his lyrics are as sophisticated as Sage's.

  • @d510g1c you shouldnt compliment one artist by comparing them to another and then ripping on that one. they are different.

  • @d510g1c Not necessarily. Just because he is less intelligent doesn't mean his message is any less worthy. I agree a lot of comercial music is full with meaningless lyrics.

But what we have here is two different types of the same person. Both smart men, but one raised in an environment that harnesses education and the other which favours gangs and violence. Just because someone is better educated, doesn't mean the other mans views are less valid and real. They have different experiences.

  • @lyricaltesting I agree w/ this guy.

  • @KrigoNine Thank you

  • Comment removed

  • @d510g1c and now who is shallow, putting your self above those who disagree, and so what if sage has those, doesnt make his words any heavier, and have you forgotten, people use to call eminem the devil, i love sage hes my favorite rapper but people like you make me a shamed in his fans, and yes eminem has deep lyrics you sound like you are from a nice little comfy life man, do you know how many peoples lives eminem has touched cause he could express what they were feeling

  • @d510g1c You're just so cool man. I wish i could be as deep and philosophical as you are, it's just so complex and cool. Don't be such a dick man. Sage has some deep and thoughtful lyrics, some flow too. Eminem may suck now, but he's got mad flow, and some really clever lyrics. Just becuase it isn't deep or undergound doesn't mean it isn't good.

  • I wish this song was longer, but all it takes is one line to mean something tremendous.

"It's like when a girl grins, an emotion of hers

That holds your arm, and grabs tight"

  • Everyone shut the fuck up and just listen to some of the deepest lyrics you'll ever hear.

  • WACK

  • @sperdoj Wack really? That comment you wrote was wack.

  • @cpaterson0988 Doesn't change the fact that Sage Francis makes some of the most unlistenable hip hop known to modern man.

  • @sperdoj That's your opinion, but don't go and leave comments like that. Just go to something else and don't listen to it if you think it sucks that much.

  • @cpaterson0988 I was directed here by someone. I'm not going to not say that a song is wack, when it clearly is wack, just so that I don't spoil your fun. The song's fuckin wack, as is all of his other shit, and I just wrote that in the little comment box and pressed Post! That was easy!

  • @cpaterson0988

If you can post posts of admiration its only natural that it can be the other way around too. I love the song, but what you're saying is a bit fascist! :D

  • @Brezimenko

    Nope, it isn't.

    I agree with him.(:

  • @sperdoj He is'nt the best Hip Hop producer or MC around, but he makes more money making his shit and selling it than you do on unemployment benefit, or your paper round, or whatever the fuck it is you do..

  • goosebumps...

  • 2:22 of pure wisdom.

  • Koo azz song.

  • extreme fluctuations in temperature changes have been known to crack pipes...crack pipes, crack pips. Sage so real

  • TROLOLOLOLOLOL

  • This song is nothing short of a masterpiece

  • The sterile robots want to talk to me about detox... god sage I have no idea where I would be if extreme fluctuations and temperature changes hadnt cracked pipes.

  • crack=death.

    weed=awesomenessness

  • people say shit like sage, like u guys fucking know him or no his music and u fucking don't u have no idea how he feels when he sings or write's his music so don't act likeu fucking no him. WHAT THE FUCK all u r whack as fuck if ur gonna comment stupid shit, then listen to the song WITHOUT commenting!

  • @annaxoxo26 .......u mad bro?

  • @annaxoxo26 FEEL MY INARTICULATE RAGE

  • dope!

  • Extreme temperature changes and flucuations have been known to crack pipes, crackpipes lol the sterile robots want to talk to me about detoc, god I fucking love sage

  • bad ass song. my favorite one right now only thing that sucks is its hella short

  • Im 1000. Pleased to meet you. Charp song

  • keep free of negative thoughts...... its easier said than done sage.

  • my mom is soo funny, we go visit my brothers every 6 months and everytime i smoke some weed in my pipe while driving she whispers (CRACK PIPES,crack pipes ,crack pipes lol.......but shes says "if it comes from the earth, its prolly safe" hah

  • @DJRoadkill18seven all poisons are from earth too though

  • @pcb222 yeah but those poisons are modified n shizz

  • @saintpedr00 justify it how you want

  • @DJRoadkill18seven weed is probably the closest to home i guess, still, its hyped up to be something it isnt

  • @DJRoadkill18seven you smoke your pipe while driving? that sounds totally dangerous.

  • Addiction is hell, but so is being locked up, cancer is hell, birth is hell, unrequited love is hell, starvation is hell, loss of a loved on to death is hell, I'm not sure what the worst is barberboy but damn, no need to be a buzzkill. Gonna go watch cartoons.

    Yeah baby.

  • This song made me speechless.

  • hey whats the opening from?>

  • @ElectricLadyT its an old recording from when sage was a kid talking on a tape recorder.

  • @1309mw how the fukk would u know

  • Is there a better quality? That is about the only thing that I can think. why people would dislike this.

  • best song of lifee.

  • Sage francis is one of the very few rappers today that actually speak the truth. the guy is a genius, he's fun, most of all he's legit. He stomps everyone.

  • this song reminds me of my brother. he's locked up in garza west. idk

  • You are all taking this song at face value. It is riddled with adianoetae and allegory. It is not just about drug addicts,

  • This song is unrivalled.

  • I love sage because you can tell that he is so passionate in his music. He has such deep lyrics that can be interpreted in numerous ways. And he has great Flow :).

God Bless all of you who have lost a loved one.

  • u have to have a soul, to fight good...gingers have NO souls..therefore ur all pussies..haha

  • @Redeyejedi007 I bet if I say fuck niggers and Jews I'll get down voted as it considered racism and making fun or gingers is not. Fuck you and this stupid society.

  • @Redeyejedi007 I like how that episode of southpark was actually slandering the ideals of ethnic superiority, but all the retards who watched it just thought it was making fun of gingers. So now, sad excuses for trolls like you try to get cheap lulz by telling people jokes that are actually at your expense.

  • None of you are reading inbetween lyrics, Youre just looking at the title and assuming hes talking about the drug. he has many meanings and im reletivly sure its not about the drug. ive met this man in real life and he has many diffrent meanings when he raps. Everything he says can be viewed as a double meaning. Crack pipes, an addiction, to Crack pipes, to disrupt a flow. youre not going to understand his shit if you just look at something and say its this Theres no black or white with this man

  • @69soldier he says "temperature changes have been known to crack pipes." But he does talk about 12 steps later on.... But whatever, take the meaning however you want.

  • @Ryan1531

no. that sounds like you're hitting on me.

and what I'm saying is small minded shit like that is one of the things Sage criticizes in his raps. chill out dude.

  • @Ryan1531

I don't think he would appreciate your homophobia. Keep listening. You'll get better.

  • He pours his heart and soul into every song. God Damn.

  • Everytime I hear this song, it just reminds me to never be like the ppl around me that I love who have thrown everything they care about to the side just for drugs...

  • this song is.... absolutely AMAZING.

  • im betting most of the people listening to this song have had similar experiences. all i have to say to all you you is..."meet me at the cross roads so i have someone to walk into the light with."

  • this song just sounds better on crack lol

  • CRACK PIPES

  • fuck this drug man, it's taken my two best friends, never thought i'd see the day. Theres not a day i don't think about them. rip guys, miss you

  • Sage Francis? Legendary in the makes.

  • @WaketheSheeple hes beene around for like 10-15 years if you wanna include when he was local

  • @thedudem45 yeah and? that doesn't mean there isn't room to expand and take his music and art to higher levels of creativity. it was a statement, not wondering. I know hes the shit.

  • If Sage keeps the same style of his and continous to make music like this, their will be no stopping him.

  • fuck drugs ....

  • SAGE IS THE SHIT! FUCK ALL THE SELL OUT RAPPER, THERE JUST PUPPETS OF THE STUDIOS.

  • @mesauh Naw not the Studios, the Studios get used to,by the corporations that own the major label which basically all ran by Viacom I know alot of studio engineers that hate the shit they have to record Same as radio dj's In Detroit, they were talking about what they would do if they won the lottery on this radio station. And while discussing, one of the DJ's busted out and said"You know what I would do?I would stop playing this terrible music they make us play and play real shit until im fired.

  • @TheKipKadillac True, but a real musician does what he loves and not what they tell him to do. Is all part of the big plan to plant a shitty seed in our youth.

  • i have to admit ive never heard anything like this before this could be interprtted in so many ways ive heard just about every kind of rap-hip hop crap, but this stood out to me i really liked this becuase hes not bein all liddle dicked cocky ass mofo like all of these other rappers in the game he is rapping about real things unlike most people and that is what sepperates him from the rest of the rappers out there

  • What a track, if only all rap was like this and not some bullshit excuse to make money!!!!!

  • so good i get shivers when i hear this, amazing, truly touching

  • This song makes my heart ache so much and, it's so deep it's in my soul..

I wouldn't have it any other way.

  • I laugh so hard when I watch an Eminem video and read somebody's comment saying "wow eminem's lyrics are so deep"

  • @sexykeenan Word his neW shit is a joke eminem feLL off biG time

  • @sexykeenan they are.......sages are just a little bit deeper.

  • @sexykeenan yes he does have deep lyrics, how does he not?

  • @Jackybones Compared to Sage he doesn't. Sage is like the Mariana's trench compared to Eminem.

  • @caleisthesex I will agree that sage is a better writer, and he is my favorite rapper... but I cant say his songs are any deeper. also what do you actually consider to be "deep"?

  • @sexykeenan They are?

    Eminem's got some deep-as-fuck lyrics.

Of all the big hip-hop/rap artists, Eminem's the only one there with any idea how to hit a heart string.

  • @holysoks1

lol, must have missed that memo. You need to broaden your listening to some artists which -didn't- sell out and use rap as a method of coping, they put their own problems into the rap. You're a fool if you think that he wrote this for our benefit, it's for his. But just on the off-chance that one of us is experiencing the same problems... here it is.

  • @Bmarks930 In the end none of that matters, what matters if whether or not you can actually relate to them.

  • @sexykeenan your idiot i laugh now at you go listin old school eminem, check his freestyles no one can freestyle like him man send me videos, who freestyles better dickhead. u only call this deep cus hes underground? u dumb fuck

  • I had 1 good friend in high school and we listened to Sage as religion.

Then we saw him perform this song live in 2000.

    Life changing experience.

  • "Hurl him into the ocean, one of them cold sweat, heat flash types,

when extreme fluxuations in temperature changes have been known to

    Crack Pipes"

  • and barberbeau, u can go fuck yur self under the bridge u live under. stop wth hatin, y'd u listen to it in the frst place duech

  • @mppttt

I'm not being mean, I have an honest question for you; Are you legally retarded?

    -

  • hey i feel for ya whos dad died, been through it to. peace man

  • listen to this some time.........it might change your life..........

  • this song hit me so hard, brought me to tears. i know exactly what thats like sage..

  • @1309mw I really think you can't pin this down to one thing... its almost like a few song meanings in one... to me im hearing the stages of grieving a loss that anyone feels, quiting a drug addiction, losing a family member... alota things

  • I just found out bout thus dude and he's has more skill lyrically and his flow is like no other, this beat rite here is so unique and to think he's been rappin ever since he was 8

  • My friend just posted the lyrics on facebook. I'm now glad I took the time to check this out, sick flow and amazing beats.

  • Sends chills up my body man, dats dope.

  • My dad died while still using crack. Rest in peace, Dad.

  • @barberbeau Agreed. Stay strong my friend.

  • @1309mw

And I will never try crack or heroin. I figure if the sating "Like father, like son" holds any validity, then I would be best off to not try that shit. RIP Dad. Now I'm going to drink vodka and cry.

  • @barberbeau this song aint bout crack homie

  • @barberbeau this song aint bout crack homie ps all yal are fags ,, wwaaaahh this song made me cry,, pusyz

  • @barberbeau Good luck in your journey.

  • @barberbeau My dad didnt die, but he instead killed the rest of teh family by taking all the money and house etc.....left my mom and mess, took it all.....fuck crack.\

  • @barberbeau so did my uncle, im sorry for your loss

  • @barberbeau i've had 3 family members die of that shit before 14 (excluding my father my fathers suicide when i was 2)

my mom quit after me and my brother begged her, she relapsed once,

I grew up in a crack house man.. that shit makes you wiser and humbler take what you can from it, i would be lying if i wasn't damaged, but i can honestly say I love who i am thanks a lot to some of those lessons i learned growing up in that environment...

we are damaged yet enlightened brother

  • @barberbeau So sorry man

  • @barberbeau much love my condolonces im sure hes in a better place, its a beautiful song too

  • @barberbeau

Much love man. Addiction can be the worst thing to experience and/or watch someone experience.

  • so dope

  • Is this about drugs? Or dying? Or both? Or his parents?

  • @idkmybffamir its about him and his father

  • @idkmybffamir

    All 3 simultaneously

  • @idkmybffamir its about how his little brother was on crack

  • Everyone I know thinks that Lil Wayne has the most skill.

T I is the most badass.

Riannah has had an extermely messed up life.

Sage Francis is all of that and so much more. His lyrics have such deep lyrics. Every time I listen to this song I realize more of the verses. Its Like a goldmine of understanding. I think that Sage is and always will be the most experenced rapper and has some amazing lyrics that go right to the soul.

  • @Phatforyou

now read a book and try again.

  • I love it, so intense. It's the little things in life that are the deepest and most emotional. Sage has the right message to his music

  • This song always reminds me of when I first got sober, and then the process of watching friends start using again and meeting their end.

  • I'm in a band with a friend of mine making electronic/rap music and I've always wanted to cover this song. After partaking in some luscious herb, I had a high moment and almost cried from this song. It's just so god damned beautiful.

  • I'll me you at the crossroads Sage, i'll walk into the light with you

  • I'm currently mind fucked. IN SAGE'S NAME I PRAY, AMEN.

  • @greytoh Amen

  • fuck the 16 people that don't like this.

  • @stoopshizzle it wouldnt be worth it. they have no soul.

  • @1309mw there probably the blind that only look at the song name, like its influencing us to do bad because that was most rap is.

  • @1309mw They must be privledged kids who would rather smoke or drink their parents money away and listen to Lil' Wayne. They must have never suffered like Sage. They dont understand
