The Batman off the 60's was pure comedy. They knew dressing real life people up as the Batman and Robin from the comics wouldn't be taken seriously so just had fun with it. If anything, its the most realistic take on Batman. If some real guy dressed up like this too fight crime he'd just be laughed at :)
