No one's probably gonna read this, but I’ll say it anyway cuz I feel at least 1 person will. I'm a young designer and graffiti artist, I know there's a million out there but I feel like my art has a unique individual style.
If you just take a min and give me a chance I'll make you a believer. I would love nothing more than to have a loyal following on youtube. If anyone who reads this could press the "THUMBS UP" others will see it. Just a simple button push will make a huge difference.
The mark of two great artists: Elvis showing that he makes anything he sings his own. And Bono writing a song so good, it can work in an entirely different setting. Almost as if they wrote this for EC to sing. Just brilliant.
He is asking for the same thing Bono is, quit killing each other, learn how to get along. IRA disarment, a treaty with the Protestants. Get off your knees and work together and let this thing go. Irish/catholic and protestant is what I am. I have no difficulty understanding what Bono means with these lyrics. I just don't understand why they can't come to a way to end this needless death.
it's a song directed exclusively at the IRA. the northern star is a reference to northern ireland. your sermon on the mount from the boot of your car is a reference to IRA car bombs. i could go on...
I know this already, anything else? Why are you writing me? I am Irish, I know exactly what he is ralking about. Thanks for posting, love Costello's take on it.
Anyone care 2 comment on what the song/how he sings it is pleading 4? It's not entirely supportive of Catholicism. There's a shifting of consciousness as we enter the age of Aquarius in 2012. "God" can B found everywhere, esp. inside ea living thing. Ball-sy of him,a Brit,2 choose this song 4 what is probably Catholic/religious audience. S. O'Connor performs "Famine" in front of a British audience to balance. Ah, the prodding.Elvis is quite emotional here/I appreciate it. thanks 4posting
WOW. This is a spectacular cover of Please. I think its awesome that Elvis is humble enough to see the genius of a peer like Bono. It would be great to hear U2 hash out a cover of Veronica in return.
I'm mobile mastermind- not sure if this helps
But whatever it takes to support a starving young artist...keep the faith... But have a backup plan... Peace Love Luck to U

interesting word--sometimes people think you're grovelling; but really you mean "Please--don't make me call Sacramento, And my friends in Chino."
Other times, it's just "Please--don't touch me there; You're not my Onkel!"

Nice cover... not a big EC fan, but he nailed this, and that's coming from a U2 fan, at that.

That is the best cover of a U2 song I have ever heard. About time someone who done a song from them didn't ruin it

This is a good take on a U2 classic.
