Excellent!  The early Golden Gate Quartet was greatly admired by Elvis Presley as a kid. The lead singer had a style that Elvis copied in many of his early songs and just about all his gospel recordings. Pretty neat!

Nice! The original 4 from the GGQ in the 30s-40s were way better though. Check out their "Mockingbird" rendition... truly amazing.

I loved this video. But isn't that Frank Davis, the former lead of the Soul Stirrers, leading at the end of "OH HAPPY DAY"? I was wondering where he went. He was one of my all time favorite lead singers. He sounds good with The Gates. Keep it up. I love it when these groups stay together. Sometimes we need to get back to the old-time way. Quartets like The Gates and The Soul Stirrers paved the way for all of our groups now, including mine, The Chosen Four. And we do a few of their earlier songs.
