We just sailed on one of those new mega-ships at RCCI, Oasis of the Seas. I spoke to the crew a lot and found out that they are usually one to a cabin, sometimes 2! OMG! They each have their own flat panel TV even, might be worth checking out but they said smaller ships in fleet are same as NCL, four to a cabin at times. Oasis was insane though, I got to go down to deck 2 and see their I-94 HOLY SHIT! I couldn't see the end of it! Would have loved to see crew bar!
Well, Im gonna be one of the many that asks, how do you sign up, and hows the application process? Good? Bad? Long? Fact is, I've applied every-freaking-where in my hometown and nobody is hiring. So I figure, travel+work= pure solid win. So info would be sweet, thanks.
@Jehosh27I had HUGE success with the e-book "Experts Guide to Working on Cruise ships". I got an AMAZING job as a professional shopper. I got to travel the world for free AND get paid to recommend places to shop in the Caribbean! BEST JOB EVER! The e-book was amazing and FILLED with useful information. I think it was around 300 pages. The best part was it gave the names and contact info of the people who actually do the hiring. Check out Dream Job Experts on Facebook for a link to their website

What a bunch of cheap basterds! Se this lack of tipping is the reason you end up missing while on a cruise, a few stewards just chuck your cheap ass over the fantail an that is that!

go visit cruise ship web sites and look under employment or career. I know that once you are on, it's strict about making time calls for departure and stuff, like if you are late at a port for departure, immediately fired and have to find your own way home

So what is the tipping procedure for the buffet? Is there a tip jar somewhere? I'd be worried that a tip left on the table would disappear before a crew member could pick it up.

the buffet is part of the daily tip pool/service charge. They clear the tables pretty fast so if you decide to leave cash they will get it.
