LMAO! Great message. We were also of those parents that did not want to promote disillusionment in our children, making them to believe in a guy that bring better toys to rich kids. They also were labeled as stupid for not knowing about Santa, go figure. And lastly, you can be a believer or not, but Christmas is not about deers, and elves, and the guy in red. But... some of my kids are married now, and spouse still wants to keep the "tradition". Whatever...
lmfao My parents tried telling me sandy claws was real! I knew better and I was only like 6 and they bought me one of those really bad ass Power Wheel things and tried telling me Santa brought it. In reply I told them no it wasn't and that it came from wal-mart. They just laughed and told me I was right and explained to me that it was all a lie. I'm not gonna lie I was a little saddened by this, but I was alright with the free gifts so I accepted it lol
@PROMETH91 Hahaha, smart little kid you were! I have one other friend who, as long as early as she could remember, did not think Santa made any sense and didn't believe in him. You early nonbelievers should form a worldwide club. :D
I never liked the red nosed freak myself. When I did believe in him, I use to set traps to catch him. Some were rather elaborate. I do love the "Rare Exports" trailer though. Check it out to see what I use to think of Mr. "He sees you when you're sleeping".
I was told by my sister when I was like 6 that santa claus is fake. Then later in the 5th grade, i was ten and said i didnt beileve in santa. This kid named Cameron called me an atheist and then said Santa Claus was Jesus.
I grew up in belgium and they did things a little differently. Our Santa Claus was a guy named Sinterklass who did pretty much everything Santa Claus did only in a much fancier outfit. The biggest noticeable difference was that Santa Claus has elves as his helpers whereas Sinterklass had a bunch of black people as helpers. I once saw a float in a Christmas parade where Sinterklass was riding high up on a sort of throne with his helpers running around below him. Now thats promoting slavery.
@NamingThingsIsntEasy Whoa, that's new! I spent several of my young years in Germany, where he had Saint Nicolas, who was tall and skinny, and would put goodies (or coal) in your boots on Saint Nicolas day, in addition to the gifts on Christmas.
@arabbel I think Saint Nicholas was celebrated on the 5th of december wasn't it? I can remember getting presents on the 5th/25th of december for St Nicholas/Christmas and then again on 2nd of January for my birthday.
@NamingThingsIsntEasy If I recall properly, it was the 6th? I think some areas also do it on the 19th maybe. Either way, yeah, it was something done before and in addition to Christmas day, which was fun. :D
Haha I totally guessed that the little boy's name was timmy! YouTube #espn!! And I totally love your thank you at the end!! :D Keep on rocking in the free world! Don't know why i said that.. Still Merry Christmas!
For me my mom did tell me there was a Santa. It really wasn't that bad when I found out, I had my suspicions...
Speaking of which, When I was 7 I had a very intellectual conversation with a very close friend of mine about whether or not Santa was real. We had our theories and everything, kind of funny when I think about it now. Fond memories ^^

In holland, our version of santa claus is a man dressed in red&white robe with a staff and white people dressed up as black people carrying gifts.
Santa Claus is god compared to him imo, although the concept of santa claus originated from our version: Sinterklaas.
So yeah because of the dutch you have to endure santa claus every christmas! I'm sry about that :(

@MyInterwebs Hahaha, I know, most kids aren't actually all that traumatized by it, but I still love to whine about it. :D

@MyInterwebs And it's awesome you had a full theorizing conversation about it as a seven year old, that's amazing.
