  • I love hunter trials!! Our hunt club puts one on every summer and theres nothing like the fast paced adrenaline pumping run through the course yelling back and forth to your partner. Its always the highlight of my summer :) Great video

  • I would like to know, what exactly is a hunter trial?

  • @sparksandspirit A hunter trial is practically cross country but its timed!!xx :)

  • That place is amazing!

  • ahh pony club..I love it! =D

  • Very very nice video. Wish I was home out riding not stuck at uni revising :(

  • :o was this song (well the first one/half) used in a Disney... well cartoon mouse movie ooh i forgot the name of it but it was like the adventures of a mouse and i think this one was used in his western/cowboy adventure. well couldn't help but put this out there, it's now bugging me. lol.

LOVE the video :D thanks for the upload, it's yet another video that makes me want to ride/apprentice or work in Ireland even more

  • cute ponies!! ive been there !

  • well done all sweet westie lolxx

  • SO FUN!!!!

ive always wanted to join a pony club (or 4H) but there is nothing neer me except for two - three towns over and we can't be traveling =[

    That track was AMAZING!

  • Good video x x

  • my pony club is freakin nuts lmmfao we do a lot of crazyy shit. quiz is the best we like the worst n loudest n the classroom phase thats y the judges loves us XD

  • That looks like so much fun, I wish my Pony Club did things like. Oh well, we still have fun anyway.

  • PC is the best! How come pony clubs in like Ireland and Britain and Even in the western part of Canada get to do these things? Im in pony Club in Alberta. Were called Davisburg and we dont get to do pairs and stuff like this in our rallys and competitions... but i guess its cause of the facilities. anyways great video and good camera videoing!

  • agreed...

this is why i want to come live in ireland, the way horse eventing and pony clubs and such are done is so much fun,

get me out of aus so me and my horse can go have some fun ahhaha!!!

  • You're all so lucky to do this :) I wish I could, I'm in USA and my folks make me do Western, I dream of this.

  • Those grays with the red riders on top were reli good ! :D

    I bet they got placed!

  • this probss soundss stupid...but...all the horses/ponies looked pretty big, and i was just wondering if a 13hh dales pony would be able to do hunter trial...cos i dno how big he can jum but he certainly has alot of spirit in him, thats for sure, he is 7yrs old...sooo..very lively lol

  • Yeh

any type of pony can do a hunter trial

i do them with my exmoor mare who is 12.2 and she loves them!

So u and him will be fine :) x

  • thankyou ;)

  • thats k :) x

  • ;) xx

  • Nice filming ;) It was an awesome vid. The jumps look like so much fun!!

  • this sounds like a really stupid questions but do you have to have a pony to be in a pony club. cause im 5'8 and im too big to be on a pony but can i still join a pony club?

  • yeh u can still join most pony clubs on horses, my friend joined rockwood harriers and her horse was 16hh!

  • You have to have your own horse or pony...

  • Of course you can lol. Last year I rode a TB I had on loan for a year, and he was 16.2. My new horse is 15.1 :) Pony club starts at E grade and you can progress up to A grade, and the jumps are gigantic things that most ponies wouldn't be able to jump XD

  • my pony club is amazing

  • I really enjoyed the video, but some of the riders were like, trying to kill themselves or something because they were so out of balance and speedy!

  • lovely video, i really enjoyed watching it :)

  • wtf pony club is so much fun it is so good in australia

  • Not for people who don't compete, or choose to do think a little differently *gasp!*

Might just be the PC's I was involved in but I think it's an Narrow minded, over competitive organization that forces and pressures kids to compete and gives no support to the people who done event, show or compete in Mounted Games.

I left because I got sick of seeing the kid's in my PC circle haul their horses in the mouth so they could win a 50c ribbon.

Just my opinion. Might be different elsewhere...

  • Wow. No pony club should be like that. At my pony club there's no pressure to compete, they just ask you if you're entering the odd 'local event' next weekend, and if you say no then who cares lol. There's just endless learning ;)

But kids should not be pressured to compete.

  • what?!

i've had some of the best times of my life with my pony club.

  • I've had some of the worst. L:ike I said it might just be in TYasmania, but I was discriminated for not wanting to compete and the pony club I was with offered no support at all to the riders who didn't want to be involved in the competition side. I think it's way to competitive, espcieally for young riders. Just my opinion. I've seeen too much horse abuse at my PC.

  • the probleme with pair is if the horse ifunt stops u go right up his arse it happended to me!

  • this would be so much fun! I wish my old pony club had of done that! xD

  • One caught up with the other!

  • wait why were there like two horses going like right after each other?

  • haha no it's because they are doing pair's ;)

  • I love your videos! Your actually an amazing cameraman! Do you get paid for the Huntertrial/hunt vids?

  • No! Free of charge, but I do it for a living.I'm a freelance tv cameraman

  • i am hopefully doin hunter trials next year were u riding??

  • No, I'm in the same boat. I too hope to be hunter trialing by the end of the year. Best of luck with it!

  • some of those ponies are tiny!!

    I love wicklow <3

Bel Air must be close to Devils Glen if it's near Ashford?

    x

  • I'm still trying to figure out how you get the different camera angles! Its brilliant!!

  • Thanks! I carry around a small bean bag type pillow, the kind you wrap around your neck on a plane. It's ideal for putting my camera on and getting the right angle when I place it under jumps etc. Obviously I stand well back when the horse and rider come along.
