  • you're a hooker? I thought I was doing great with you! This movie is still hilarious after all these years... watched this the other day and was LMAO

  • I was 9 yrs. old. Loved the movie and the song!

  • very well done 80smuzic, love it, thanks for sharing!

  • Hey Mr. "ToneDeff", THANKS A TON for the response! I've never heard of either Omaritian or Meurer . . . I never remember my great aunt mentioning either of them, but then again I was really young. I do remember her saying Bacharach was involved the day of the taping (CBS remote studio in NYC). . . but that was a long time ago.

Anything else you remember would be MUCH appreciated!!!

  • great voice nuff said

  • Very beautiful song. Loved it.. into my featuring this week.

  • Love, love this song, Love, Love Christopher Cross and I love the movie!!

  • My aunt was Alice Pine, who did a ton of music on Broadway, then flm. She did the film rehearsals (she loved Dudley Moore, and actually did several duets with him on the set). God I miss her, and remember her being such a huge part of that movie back in 1980 (when I was a junior in high school). I HOPE SOMEBODY remembers Aunt Alice!

  • Can anyone tell me who the piano cover was for this recording? My great aunt performed the cover for the film rehearsals, but I'd really lke to APPLAUD the piano cover artist . . . really beautiful piano playing.

If anyone can provide the original cover artist (the recording), it would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks everyone!!!!

  • @ssj5657 it was either producer micheal omartian or rob meurer who were on chris,s first two albums as you say gorgeous playing. omartian i would say is the pianist he is a great player he plays lovely piano on aja by steely dan and has perfect pitch!!

  • this and sailing are my top songs of all time!

  • What a beautiful song, from a kind of goofy but delightfully funny film. Too bad music like this isn't made any longer. Rap is pure junk.

  • LOVE this song! LOVE the movie! I must be the oddball, I live in New York and I don't want to fall in love!! Anyways, I agree with ponymaruni, too bad music doen'st exist like this anymore. the 80's were great! Well, I'm (old enough to know) so were the 70's. :)

  • Never been in NYC....so what's the best I can do in Chicago? Avoid gang violence and rabid bicyclists?

  • This song always reminds me of mom. ;w;

Pfft, sorry, I HAD to insert some sort of obscure reference in here. xD

  • looks like I'll just have to fall in love if I'm ever in New York!

  • about to turn 21 and im jamming to this hit. to bad music like this dont exist anymore

  • this song ALWAYS come to my mind when i think of 80s.

  • "... The best that you can do is fall in love ..."

  • so many memories attached to this song...wow!!!

  • Haven't even seen the new version of Arthur, which by most accounts is a horrible film, but its one saving grace has to be that they never had Justin or Miley remake this song. That would've rubbed salt in the wound.

  • I grew up w/ Brittany Spears, Backstreet Boys, etc. But my parents listened to the 70's, 80's music all the time. I'm so glad they did though. I loved listening to this kind of music.

  • great song ever

  • GHOST IN THE MACHINE Police Concert Tour ECSTASY COUPLE

  • there is something about an 80's saxophone solo, you don't hear the sax any more. I think of this song, the sax solo from "same ole lang syne" as two of the better ones.

  • 4 people have never been caught between the moon and New york City. Great song.

  • @flootisboy65 i think your right there..well said..

    lol

  • i need to get drunk...

  • I love the fact that i was raised listening to this type of music! Its way better than the stuff that is played now a days. Its just so simple but great!

  • better than lil wayne (shitface) anytime

  • tengo 14 años y mi novia 19!!!

  • This is much better than the Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Akon, Justin Bieber... shit going on.

    MUCH better

-Sincerely, a 15 year old girl

  • @lucymanola hellz yeah

    (i'm 15 too)

  • @lucymanola I'm so Happy that you appreciate this kind of music. and its really much better than the music of today.

-Sincerely, A 15 year old, old school boy

  • @lucymanola Finally, a person with some musical taste from today's generation!! I was fortunate enough to have grown up during the 80-90's. Early 90's even had some good music. But now, it is complete garbage.

  • @lucymanola you have good choices

  • @lucymanola It's nice to see younger generations appreciate this music :)

    from a 23-year-old girl

  • Great song from an equally great movie during a great decade. RIP Dudley Moore. It's too bad they had to ruin such a great masterpiece by remaking it. And even worse, with that unfunny piece of shit Russel Brand as Arthur.

  • @Fiendin is dudley moore dead? omg! brilliant song though. great songs were so common in the 70's and 80's. i took for granted it would always be so.

  • that may be true pokerhome, but you do need to dig to find the good songs....i'll keep looking

  • its really good to hear 16 year olds appreciating just how good music was! :-)))

  • @dexyshotspur how good music was ? if you dig deep enough these days. you find such songs too.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG AND I'M BLACK MAN, I LOVED THE MOVIE AS WLL, LOVED THIS SONG IT'S A ALL TIME FAVORITE OF MIND I LOVE CHRIS VOICE.

  • No wrinkles (like most of 80's titles !!) Definitively, 80 's are the best period for music !

  • I Own More Movies, Records, Cd's and Cassettes from the 80s than i do from the last 20 years together!! Im 16 and i was definitely born in the wrong era!!

  • enjoy the song and stop fighting about age bunch of retarded!!

  • I love hear this song when i drive car in the city on the night.

  • I'm 24... who feels anything? :P

  • god i wish i could go to them days im only 17 im always listen to this kind of music even when i have a house party i these kind of songs on

  • @liamx102 -Those of us fortunate enough to grow up in the 80's were lucky to have such good music, but I feel the people from the 50's through the 70's had it all!

  • My Dad always played this kind of music when I was younger, amongst other stuff like Beatles, James Taylor, Stephen Cross, Prefab Sprout, Yes, Genesis, Beach Boys........ Though I *sometimes* listen to music that my friends listen to, THIS is my kinda thing.

Also, three people didn't fall in love in New York.....

  • 3 people are either out of place or mentally retarded...

  • A masterpiece that I remember as a kid back in the mid-80's. Those were the days to be around. This song is more tailored to mature adults then if it all that it was for kids. That's the one thing about Christopher Cross and his music - it's just simply pure! No wonder all the awards this song won!

  • I,m 231 years old and I think this modern Rubbish is terrible. There is a musician gioes by the name of Wolfgang Mozart that I suggest you check out :)

  • you 12 year olds make me feel like a right old fart....I'm 26!

  • @GibbyGibbyGibb and you 26 yr olds make us 34+ yr olds feel like old farts! ;)

  • I'm 51. I'm the only old fart in here. ;-)

  • @80sMuzic and you 34+ yr olds make us 17 feel like young (opposite of farts)!

  • @80sMuzic i'm 20 am I an old fart yet?

  • @80sMuzic And you 34+s make us 62 yos feel young again when you love music like this.

  • @80sMuzic I'm 48. But I was 18 when I first got to love this song. :-)

  • @80sMuzic So how is that supposed to make this 38 yr old feel? Lmao. Great great song!!

  • @80sMuzic and you 34+ year olds still look like you are in your diapers to us 45+ year olds.;)

  • @mraw65 you 45+ year olds make us 12 year olds feel young....i love this song....i saw the original arthur just the other day

  • @80sMuzic You know, i actually do think about this song a lot when I think of the 80s, because it's also one of my all-time favorites! Thanks a lot for posting this!

I actually was going to playlist another video, but I tried this and discovered the sound was much clearer.

  • @80sMuzic and you 34 yr olds make us 43 yr olds feel like an even older farts! hahaha love this song!

  • @rmrshinn I feel just like farting!

  • @80sMuzic I'm 44...where the f*** does that leave me??!

  • @80sMuzic and you 34yo's make this 36yo feel like aarp material

  • @80sMuzic : I am 39 and I am an old old old fart...

  • @80sMuzic LoL. My thoughts were similar. But I was telling myself why he even saying that? Gibby wasn't even born when this came out. I'm sage age as you and remember Arthur playing in cable in the early 80s.. and this song of course.

  • @GibbyGibbyGibb lol ur not even old and im 15

and i got cault between the moon and newyork city cause i love this song

  • sounds to me like :

IF YOU GET DRUNK BETWEEN THE MOON AND NYC"

    heheh...

  • What a great song! It's such a shame that "musicians" don't make music like this anymore, but what can you expect when our present culture favors image and appearance over true talent and a proper ear for music? This song has excellent vocals, excellent saxophone work (3:15), and excellent rhythm. For those of you who are too young to know, this was the title track to a movie entitled "Arthur". If you haven't seen it, you must. That fool Russell Brand doesn't do the original justice

  • one of my favorite song....

  • I really like old songs,even though I'm only 17....=)

  • Though this song came out in the '80s, it totally has a '70s aesthetic.

  • 3 person are deaf

  • the best that modern music can do.... can't compare.

  • Week of October 31, 1981.

  • im 84 i love oldies songs

  • The best that you can do, is fall in love.

  • The 80's produced the best music ever. I was like in 5th grade as well. Around 10-11 years old.

  • LIFE is a MOVIE 8)

  • im a heavy metal/techno/reggae/alternative rock kind of person but I LOVE THIS SONG

  • I LOVE THIS SONG

  • reminds me of los angeles circa 1981.

  • This is the best song man like why the hell did they remake that movie sad part a lot of people think its original

  • @ethanthehut3 : I so agree with you. Who the heck thought that they could replace Dudley Moore with that idiot Russell Brand?

  • Man...this was the 5th grade..time flies so quickly...I'm almost 40..lol...seems like yesterday when this jam was out.

  • To my wonderful friend Tony B. Until we meet again.. Daisy

  • i'm 18 and i love oldies <3

  • @PartyHouse93 I'm 16 & I can't get enough :)

  • I got here by an "Easy 80's" commercial.

  • God, i love these old songs!!!

songs today just dont have the same feel and heart that music from the 70's and 80's do.

  • I really like this song , but for reasons that i cannot explain this song also makes me blue in a happy kind of way.

  • He Made Some Absolutely Beautiful Songs. I Could Listen to This One All Day Long!!! #Priceless Music!!!

  • beautiful song, thats so amazing.. chris cross rocks today and ever

  • This song is BEAUTIFUL. it came from the 80s

  • I actually like the remake, though I haven't seen the orginal so I have nothing to compare it to,the orginal came out when I was a baby, but this version of the song is the best.

  • I cant believe Russel Brand s the new arthur the originalwas a classi why did they have to remake it dont get me wrong im glad people discovered this movie by russel brand but nooooo never mind

  • one of the nicest songs ever !

  • I know how people feel about the new version of Arthur but the original one will always be the best.

  • I saw the remake last night. Not terrible by any means, but no where near as good as the original. They played the song at the end, but a cover -_-. I love this tune
