excellent live version...but the studio version has more consistent snap to the drum hits, a slightly faster pace...and viewed from 42 years hindsight, the studio version is a textbook 17-minute play-along lesson on almost every element of '70s punk you'd ever need.
I just gave it my thumbs up. How could I not? This live version gives the studio recording a run for its money. Lou's phrasing sounds Dylanesque on "I didn't like the weather" and "just like Sister Ray said."
I can't believe I never knew this take existed. I thought I new every VU track. This is a whole new world of Ray. P.S. just found out suicide covers this song. Punk.
@Shindig109 - This isn't really a "take". Back in the day of analog cassette tapes VU fans used to trade bootleg tapes of live shows. There are lots of live recordings of The Velvet Underground floating around.
Lou and Company, You go for the jugular on this. Hard edged. Fabulous. VU as we know them. Too bad their 90s reunion fell apart. This is American music as its finest.
I love the studio version of this song. It's definitely one of the coolest tunes ever. This version of it is awesome too. I enjoy what sounds like a slower grungier sound to it. The vocals come through clearer too.
the quine tapes have the most awesome versions of this song as well as some others. its by far the most rad vu jam session, please check it out if your a fan!!!!!!!!!!!! the quine tapes.. ;*)
why does maureen always look so terrified?

Love The raw sound and look at The lyrics xD this song should be listed as number one on PAEC's "Filthy Fifteen"
