And as for Skold, though I am not too familiar with his solo stuff and therefore can't make an accurate assesment thus far, based on what I have listened to thus far my humble opinion is that he worked best in the confines of KMFDM.

Never been a huge manson fan, but I am a MASSIVE NIN fan. Though Trent produced "Portrait" and had some creative input, it is false to say that he wrote Manson's songs. He did not. Trent's personal production touches were the most significant on "antichrist superstar" and "portrait of..." with OTHER producers used in subsequent albums. Let us not forget that Trent started "Nothing" records as a haven for artists to express themselves how they wished, NOT write their music for them!

@ajax76065 1. Reznor helped produce the second version of the first album, Portrait of an American Family(not child) 2. smells like children is a remix album with a couple covers 3. Daisy Berkowitz wrote the music to both of them 4.Antichrist superstar was written by Manson, Berkowitz and Ramirez (all 3 were members of the band, Berkowitz left during the recording/writing process). yes, Trent owned a record label and signed and produced manson, but the first album is from the Spooky Kids days.

Antichrist Superstar is over-rated as is portrait.. Sure there good albums but both Mechanical Animals an Holywood were better then them. Neither had Reznor anywhere near them.

Also Reznor didn't write ANY of Manson's song's, an had very minor influence on the music on Antichrist Superstar.

Trent deserve's respect for giving Manson freedom to express himself freely an promotion during his early year's. Other-wise that's the extent of it. Learn your facts before posting bull-shit
