it can not record widescreen I quote from manual.

"Please note that all movies recorded with this memory camcorder have 4:3

aspect ratio regardless of the display option (16:9 Wide/4:3). When it is set

to "16:9 Wide", the displayed picture may appear wider or rougher than

that of 4:3 screen aspect ratio.

Yeah thats been driving me nuts, I got mine used off ebay, I love the camera, sound is great on it, video picture is so so, but for what I paid and it does its been great. I just wish I know it shot everything in 4:3 format before I bought it. That is my only complaint and only reason I be looking to sell it soon as I can figure out a replacement around what I fetch for this, which isnt much out there at all :(

And if anyone cares to know, it handles a 16gig class 6 card no problem. Just need extra batteries for it will do around 600 minutes, and the one battery if your lucky lasts 60.

i have that camera and i wondered if you can put night vision somewhere around the lense cap? or anywhere

great camcorder. i just got mine. paid W160000 or 81 Pounds for mine! you can use it as a web cam, but you know that! 9/10 for this one!!!

Theis camcorder is deceiving., It seem slike it would film in widescreen(not hd), but it does not. The LCD is widescreen, but when you film in widescreen, it simply streches out the pic to "fill" in the widescreen of the lcd, not the actual video!

hi, im no the guy ur brobably expectin to answer this but i do have this, trust me its really good for the price but its not very good if your left handed, oh and there is no flash and it cant take pics and unfortunetly it dosnt have night mode. but i recomend it

i've got it and it is terrible the lcd is grainy and what you frame on the lcd doesn't come up when u put it on ur pc, don't buy it!

I live in the UK actually and here are things that are wrong with this camera

*LCD Grainy

*Colours are dull

*Poor quality video

*No camera facility

*Auto focus is crap

And by the way it soesn't record in true widescreen it records on 14:9 so there are black bars on the right hand side of the computer screen/TV

i say that this camcorder is a afordalble begginers camcorder. and by the way, the LCD is grainy cause your probably in low light, colours may be dull because of exposure settings or white balance settings, auto focus may be rubbish but just use the manual focus (i recon the auto focus is fine), But the 14:9 format does sound anoting, all you have to do is adjust it with your video editing software (I know that you cant with Windows movie maker).

So it isnt the camcorders fault becasue This is a great little Camcorder. So my advice is to check the settings.
