i NEVER got a checkpoint the entire part. i would camp in that room downstairs with all the guns on the wall and let em charge me. that worked awsome. they never shot up the laptop.

wat i usually do is set up all the claymores and then just camp up the stairs. that way u can let all ur teamates take care of the entrances and all u have to worry about is the front door. the only thing i have trouble with is at the end when ur going downhill towards the chopper. on veteran diff. ur fucked up but on all the other diff i never have trouble.i still cant get passed that part... so pissed!!!!
rofl this was actually easy and quick for me. After dieing like 4 times on Veteran(I suck) on the "run to the helicopter", I lost interest and just rushed. First I shot that guy hiding in the bushes and then ran along the left bank/side. When the guys were shooting me, I just ran around and jumped. I kept doing that till I reached the log. I hid behind it to regain hp. Then slid downhill after the checkpoint notice showed up (threw gernades and flashbangs before that). I actually made it.
Best way is camp lying in the stairs next to him, and everytime you get flashed, press the aim down the sight buttom shot 3 shots realease keep going until you can see (Only xbox and ps3) because there is a fun mini aimbot in mw2^^ :) Very good trick if you have completed the singe player campagin about 10 times before just want the gamescore ^^
I found this whole level pretty easy actually. I just hid at the top of the steps with an LMG and laid waste to anyone who dared enter. Then once that was all done, I ran out of the estate towards the heli, and used flashbangs to temporarily confuse the soldiers. I didn't bother killing any of them. Before I knew it I was getting dragged to the helicopter and getting shot by Shepherd.
Omg when you have to run to the helicopter, it's so fucking insane!!! There's invisible enemies everywhere behind trees and rocks that shoot you from nowhere and you randomly die! Fuck this!
@SE7ENZERO Try doing this on Veteran to go for plat XD. If you hug the left mountain, you shouldn't necessarily die, because once you hit the bottom of the slope, they can't seem to aim at you properly...

@Stayontargetprod If they did that where would they go? The extraction force would take a while to get there and if they tried to run in the fields they would get mowed down, the estate is the high ground and you always want to be on the high ground because it gives you an advantage.

This mission just screwed with me on Hardened... I died about 5 times protecting the download and about 7 times trying to reach the helicopter... Is IW nuts? It's one of the most difficult games I have... considering PS2 too.
This level alone made me realize how little work these idiots at Infinity Ward did to making this game. Obviously they didn't playtest this level AT ALL in veteran skill level because its COMPLETELY luck based to get through that motor field and not get one shotted. Fuck this game.
I swear the end of this level is impossible. I did the rest of it stupidly easily, and then when you slope down I get shot with a rocket. If I wait it out I get RPG'd. If I time my runs I get RPG'd. If I try to go with Ghost I get RPG'd.
A lot of broken things and swears later, I gave up. I'll try it again later, thanks for the video.

when defending the download, i jumped onto the crates behind the stairs and set claymores near it. The enemies can't see you unless you started firing and they saw your bullets

i dont like the fact that your friendlies are SO FRIGGIN DUMB, and the enemy ai is overpowered is so unreliastic even in casual, in veteran it happens the most, i see how th ai knows exactly where i am, even if i hide and go prone they just '' jump right into me'' they even shoot before they see me for real, i hidden they get downstairs shoot then turn and kill me wtf, and i dont have friendlies around, i think its so damn sucky in that part.
the trick with claymores is dont have them face the enmy in doorways have them face away from the enemy so in fact when the enemy runs through the door way hes in the path of the claymore then also when it comes to the smoke at the begininng 2-3 tubes should do it if ur at a point where u always get overrun throw a flash straight into the air like literally above u itll blind everyone in a pretty big radius and some of ur crap AI can deal with them

i tried it..i planted a claymore in front of the main door just to see how the enemies react.. when they see the claymore they shoot it..i dont know if they are not so clever when its not on veteran but you also play it on veteran obviously..i finished the game several times months ago but i just wonder :)
i can plant only 7-8 claymores behind doors and objects,which works perfectly BUT GHOST USUALLY SUGGEST ME TO PLANT CLAYMORES OUTSIDE,which i didnt see working
Even if you have 10 claymores, that's only a MAXIMUM of 10 people you're going to kill, which, compared with the amount of people who attack the house, isn't really much.
makes sense..but considering 6 more claymores in the armory and also the other effect of claymores as alarm,its important actually..
especially for my strategy..i camp in the dining room,where rpgs and lmgs are..i usually check the front door since scarecrow sucks when he is on his on.But they can come from kitchen entrance or from downstairs so claymores are good alarm system to let me know when they come :)
Throughout the whole game on veteran i had basically no problems, but running to the helicopter after the download is complete, made me change the difficulty.
I run to the helicopter, i get to the point where the landscape slopes downwards and theres all the people running up the hill through the tree's towards you, so now, i'm basically being raped from all sides with no cover at all + i can't even see the enemies, yet they can magically see me. It's completely fucking retardedly impossible.
Incase you haven't done it, i'll tell you how i did it.
Modern Warfare 2 was designed so that enemies aren't endless, so that, you can kill a certain amount and then they'll stop coming.
It's even true in this mission.
When you leave the front of the house, you'll see a wooden fence infront/to the right of you, run round to the right of that fence, and then follow it round a corner, behind there, you should be able to pick off all the enemies that go straight for Ghost. Now slowly move up.
i restarted the whole mission how i ended it was with the AUG hbar i think w/e its called i flash banged ran through the front door into the woods and hid behind a rock picking people off from a distance then i moved up and the mortar fire came flash banged all of them then ran to the finish
@rich8642 i know what you mean, took me like 20 tries to complete it. Really pisses me off. but at a certain point you have to throw flashbangs and hope they don't hit you :p

@Stayontargetprod I think there's a difference between veteran here and in WaW. MW2's challenge is good, if you make a mistake you die and you have to excel to beat some of the harder levels. With WaW, it's just stupidly ridiculous. In WaW your punished for picking up a controller. I think MW2 Veteran hits a good grey area where it's challenging but not the ninth circle of hell in your tv
@AndyHocvs I have completed this and WaW on veteran. There were some extremely tough parts of WaW but I quite frankly enjoyed the challenge. I can take pride in completing that but not MW2. It is the easiest Cod. Way easier than 1-5. I'm hoping 7 won't have infinite respawning AI but it will still be harder. Another thing they did in MW2 is make it so you can take a magazine on veteran and still now die. I think that makes it a bit too easy.
@rich8642 I just threw a few nades and did a run through, where it cut to Ghost dragging Roach. Did the same at the very start, ran past all the claymores on the right :P

@rich8642 i just got a thermal scope from downstairs and stayed to the right side of the level with ghost and sniped people and took my time. only took me 2 tries but defending the download took me forever
IF YOU WANT TO DO THIS WITH EASE KEEP READING.... well, you see those 2 couches or sofas near the door where ghost went? THAT MY FRIENDS IS THE KEY POSITION. not done yet, before you connect the dsm, be sure to put aclot of claymores in the weapons cache room near the kitchen. Also, YOU"LL NEED THE GLOCK! get another weapon but keep the glock, this is very important. Now that your set, CONNECT THE DSM. Stand on the couch and THEN GO PRONE! yes lie on the couch facing toward the door, part 2>
EQUIP THE GLOCK! the glock requires only one hand. You'll be able to see enemies going inside the kitchen and the ones passing through the front door. REMAIN PRONE FACING THE KITCHEN, DO NOT STAND NOR CROUCH WHILE YOU are defending. whats funny is shoulder of the couch KEEPS BLOCKING THE SHOT of the enemies' and peaking with the GLOCK, you'll be able to take potshots at 'em. After you die, repeat. this tactic isn't foolproof, you are going to experience dying but it is effective. TRY IT!

It's the second wave of soldiers that keep getting me. I'm thinking that I should change one of my guns to a machine gun (not sure what's there), mainly because so many guys pour through the front door and a 25 round clip just isn't enough to hold them off. Then again, the reload time on that is abysmal.
Easily the most annoying level in the history of games. I put down 400 mines but they are all magically gone within 10 seconds somehow. Then when I go in that spot I will be shooting people at one door and somebody will run in and shoot the computer because my team mate is so fucking useless he cant kill one single guy who is 5 feet in front of him. It's not even that it is hard it is just entirely based on luck.
I just filled the house with claymores at every entrance and camped upstairs with the LSW Scoped. Didn't get hit, didn't use more than 2 mags. Scarecrow lived and covered my rear, ghost owned out the front, and I just took out anyone who got in. I just keep geting killed when I leave, about half way to the end of the run, as it takes 3 shots to die.
Great video and great spot to shoot from. Shooting from upstairs works too but I think I was more prone to getting shot at. Atleast the lucky spot gave me a better view of who's coming in on all the entrances. It was helpful. Thanks!
I planted all of the claymore mines in the same place this guy did but I can't refill them! I have 3 left but I just can't refill them in the ammo room.
Hey thanks NGW, if it wasn't for those claymore plant locations, I would never get through loose ends! BTW, I also used the same weapons & spot u had for luck defending!
I found the best place to hide was behind the table to the left of the door (loking from inside), that way you CANNOT be flanked or shot from through the windows, very very easy that way
haha what sucks is that most of those clays didnt kill ne one cuz enemy shoot whem if they see them haha but i guess it does slow them down..... and i hide upstairs? haha dang

I've completed literally every other mission on veteran and I just cannot do this mission, I didn't realise there were so many claymores or that you had infinite amounts of time before you set up the download. You stay where I stay but I usually get flanked which is a pain, so thanks a LOT! =D
@starxxxxxxxx They kind of had to have a deffend the DSM thing because then for the next modern warfare they can use the info to find makarov and kill him :D
about usb 3.0 (if it already exists) if the usb-port (or rather said bus) isn't 3.0 compatible it won't have the advantages of usb 3.0, same goes for a pc with usb1.0 and a 2.0 stick, it will go at the speed of 1.0.
Other than that, man this vid is like the best one of all the vids I needed for veteran (2nd is whiskey hotel)
this was a nasty mission, took me a good 5 tries just on the escaping part lol.. I'd get so close to shepards airstrike but then I'd catch one in the back of the head :( By the way there are 5 more claymores laying in the weapons room in the basement,, I reccomend pickin those up, the claymores trigger from across the room so they go quick.
I found that escaping by heading out the front door and sticking to the left of the map helped. Right twards the end toss some flash bangs in the middle of the last wave of guys. I did it in one try this way.
i think The Force Unleashed kinda dropped the Star Wars part when people mentioned it. all the developers just called it the force unleashed, as well as most people in general
at the end of this video, go to the top of the stairs and wait for Ghost to leave the house, you should kill around 5-7 guys before leaving the house - after that run outside and follow ghost - to the left you'll see a fence, looking at the fence, follow it left, you'll be able to hide there while ghost deals with the ones that follow you out the house - run to the trees further on and camp behind them, ghost kills all then run and try not to get hit by mortors.

IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE! I just stay in the house after the download is complete and take them out the enemies in the house. Then the hill is easy.

i dont like the fact that your friendlies are SO FRIGGIN DUMB, and the enemy ai is overpowered is so unreliastic even in casual, in veteran it happens the most, i see how th ai knows exactly where i am, even if i hide and go prone they just '' jump right into me'' they even shoot before they see me for real, i hidden they get downstairs shoot then turn and kill me wtf, and i dont have friendlies around, i think its so damn sucky in that part.

2 questions about planting claymores!
first of all,unlike he does the guy in this video,shouldnt you plant claymores behind some objects so that enemy cant see?
second,can the claymores do multiple effects? if yes,can you give me any advice where to plant them to kill as much enemies as possible?

the trick with claymores is dont have them face the enmy in doorways have them face away from the enemy so in fact when the enemy runs through the door way hes in the path of the claymore then also when it comes to the smoke at the begininng 2-3 tubes should do it if ur at a point where u always get overrun throw a flash straight into the air like literally above u itll blind everyone in a pretty big radius and some of ur crap AI can deal with them

You don't need to hide claymore mines, the AI enemies will walk right into them, even if they're in plain sight.

i tried it..i planted a claymore in front of the main door just to see how the enemies react.. when they see the claymore they shoot it..i dont know if they are not so clever when its not on veteran but you also play it on veteran obviously..i finished the game several times months ago but i just wonder :)
i can plant only 7-8 claymores behind doors and objects,which works perfectly BUT GHOST USUALLY SUGGEST ME TO PLANT CLAYMORES OUTSIDE,which i didnt see working
maybe my enemies are smarter :P

I usually don't even bother with claymores.
Even if you have 10 claymores, that's only a MAXIMUM of 10 people you're going to kill, which, compared with the amount of people who attack the house, isn't really much.

makes sense..but considering 6 more claymores in the armory and also the other effect of claymores as alarm,its important actually..
especially for my strategy..i camp in the dining room,where rpgs and lmgs are..i usually check the front door since scarecrow sucks when he is on his on.But they can come from kitchen entrance or from downstairs so claymores are good alarm system to let me know when they come :)

Throughout the whole game on veteran i had basically no problems, but running to the helicopter after the download is complete, made me change the difficulty.
I run to the helicopter, i get to the point where the landscape slopes downwards and theres all the people running up the hill through the tree's towards you, so now, i'm basically being raped from all sides with no cover at all + i can't even see the enemies, yet they can magically see me. It's completely fucking retardedly impossible.

Incase you haven't done it, i'll tell you how i did it.
Modern Warfare 2 was designed so that enemies aren't endless, so that, you can kill a certain amount and then they'll stop coming.
It's even true in this mission.
When you leave the front of the house, you'll see a wooden fence infront/to the right of you, run round to the right of that fence, and then follow it round a corner, behind there, you should be able to pick off all the enemies that go straight for Ghost. Now slowly move up.

i restarted the whole mission how i ended it was with the AUG hbar i think w/e its called i flash banged ran through the front door into the woods and hid behind a rock picking people off from a distance then i moved up and the mortar fire came flash banged all of them then ran to the finish

@Stayontargetprod I think there's a difference between veteran here and in WaW. MW2's challenge is good, if you make a mistake you die and you have to excel to beat some of the harder levels. With WaW, it's just stupidly ridiculous. In WaW your punished for picking up a controller. I think MW2 Veteran hits a good grey area where it's challenging but not the ninth circle of hell in your tv

@AndyHocvs I have completed this and WaW on veteran. There were some extremely tough parts of WaW but I quite frankly enjoyed the challenge. I can take pride in completing that but not MW2. It is the easiest Cod. Way easier than 1-5. I'm hoping 7 won't have infinite respawning AI but it will still be harder. Another thing they did in MW2 is make it so you can take a magazine on veteran and still now die. I think that makes it a bit too easy.

THAT MY FRIENDS IS THE KEY POSITION. not done yet, before you connect the dsm, be sure to put aclot of claymores in the weapons cache room near the kitchen. Also, YOU"LL NEED THE GLOCK! get another weapon but keep the glock, this is very important. Now that your set, CONNECT THE DSM. EQUIP THE GLOCK! the glock requires only one hand. You'll be able to see enemies going inside the kitchen and the ones passing through the front door. REMAIN PRONE FACING THE KITCHEN, DO NOT STAND NOR CROUCH WHILE YOU are defending. whats funny is shoulder of the couch KEEPS BLOCKING THE SHOT of the enemies' and peaking with the GLOCK, you'll be able to take potshots at 'em. After you die, repeat. this tactic isn't foolproof, you are going to experience dying but it is effective. TRY IT!

thanks for the help. i totally forgot about my clamores. i placed them at all the entrances and that helped.
the first time i played through the game checkpoint me at a real bad spot.
I was on the stairs, one guy in front of me. one guy shooting the hard drive. ( it could only last a few shots left ) both my guns need reloading lol.
anyway i replayed the level this morning and breezed though it. thanks again. im a subscriber now.

It's the second wave of soldiers that keep getting me. I'm thinking that I should change one of my guns to a machine gun (not sure what's there), mainly because so many guys pour through the front door and a 25 round clip just isn't enough to hold them off. Then again, the reload time on that is abysmal.

Easily the most annoying level in the history of games. I put down 400 mines but they are all magically gone within 10 seconds somehow. Then when I go in that spot I will be shooting people at one door and somebody will run in and shoot the computer because my team mate is so fucking useless he cant kill one single guy who is 5 feet in front of him. It's not even that it is hard it is just entirely based on luck.

I just filled the house with claymores at every entrance and camped upstairs with the LSW Scoped. Didn't get hit, didn't use more than 2 mags. Scarecrow lived and covered my rear, ghost owned out the front, and I just took out anyone who got in. I just keep geting killed when I leave, about half way to the end of the run, as it takes 3 shots to die.

Great video and great spot to shoot from. Shooting from upstairs works too but I think I was more prone to getting shot at. Atleast the lucky spot gave me a better view of who's coming in on all the entrances. It was helpful. Thanks!

I found the best place to hide was behind the table to the left of the door (loking from inside), that way you CANNOT be flanked or shot from through the windows, very very easy that way

I've completed literally every other mission on veteran and I just cannot do this mission, I didn't realise there were so many claymores or that you had infinite amounts of time before you set up the download. You stay where I stay but I usually get flanked which is a pain, so thanks a LOT! =D

about usb 3.0 (if it already exists) if the usb-port (or rather said bus) isn't 3.0 compatible it won't have the advantages of usb 3.0, same goes for a pc with usb1.0 and a 2.0 stick, it will go at the speed of 1.0.
Other than that, man this vid is like the best one of all the vids I needed for veteran (2nd is whiskey hotel)

this was a nasty mission, took me a good 5 tries just on the escaping part lol.. I'd get so close to shepards airstrike but then I'd catch one in the back of the head :( By the way there are 5 more claymores laying in the weapons room in the basement,, I reccomend pickin those up, the claymores trigger from across the room so they go quick.

I found that escaping by heading out the front door and sticking to the left of the map helped. Right twards the end toss some flash bangs in the middle of the last wave of guys. I did it in one try this way.

at the end of this video, go to the top of the stairs and wait for Ghost to leave the house, you should kill around 5-7 guys before leaving the house - after that run outside and follow ghost - to the left you'll see a fence, looking at the fence, follow it left, you'll be able to hide there while ghost deals with the ones that follow you out the house - run to the trees further on and camp behind them, ghost kills all then run and try not to get hit by mortors.
