I have a black/purple version original on sale on Ebay this very week (Ends on Christmas Day!) if anyone wants to obtain this kind of sound :) (Still might have to be a badass player like this guy as well!)
Just bought one today for 226 bucks. Haven't heard it live before, but honestly, this must be world's must overrated pedal. Although I haven't tried it with a great amp (just my Peavey Backstage), but I will, but my original CryBaby was SO much better. I'm NOT joking.
Since it has its depth-knob and a switch for guitar/bass, it's absolutely worth 150$ but 400-500 bucks is totally insane, pure madness..
I agree. This pedal is going through some kind of bullshit that I can't explain. People with "vintage" effects talk nonstop about how the new ones don't measure up to the old ones. Ibanez made these things 14 years ago and all of the parts are still made, so what exactly would the problem be. I love playing the guitar, and I love effects, but guitar players have to be the most gullible people on the planet! Everything in this pedal is STILL made! Why would it cost $500?
Also, back when this pedal was new, all anybody would say about it was that it was "no crybaby!!" or "the vox clyde mccoy is the way to go". It didn't sell all the well because it was a plastic p.o.c. So John Chilly pepper plays one and now it's "vintage"...
ok i have breaking news. there making an ibanez wh10 v2. its the exact same pedal only its metal AND 100 USD. its a reissue of the original pedal and it will sound exactly the same.
there are 2 sites that have them for pre order and both of them say $100. thats how much ibanez wants them to be (153.83). but most sites will end up charging for $100. the person recreating them says that they will be 100.
I was always a bit sceptic for this line of 80's Ibanez pedals with the disgusting gray. But this pedal taughts me it's the sound what matters, which is a point sometimes i forget about.
Anything with "Dimebag" on it blows. It's all just a cash-in by slapping his name on a bunch of products he never used. Shame on anyone who buys them.
thats where you're wrong. because you've clearly not got the point. its the sounds that count, not the names. the Dimebag Wah IS the next best thing to this. if this is the sorta sound you want. trust me. ive been there and ive heard both up close and compared.
When did I ever say it wasn't any good? I said all these companies cashing in on his murder is what blows, because they know people are going to buy things with his name on it.
you said 'anything with dimebag on it blows' which to me says that dimebag wah sucks. and it doesnt. its the next best thing to this. you need to phrase what you say better.
I've played the weeping demon wah, and it's alright. But i could'nt get a deep enough sweep on it. And while i couldn't crank up in the shop i was in i don't think it "roars" like the wh-10 does. also to activate it you don't just press down on the pedal. you have to hit a switch beside it, like on the digitech whammy. thats kind of annoying.
I played the Weeping Demon in a guitar shop. I didn't really like it for a couple of rerasons. I've never actually played a Wh-10 but from listening to them I can tell that as far as what I like and the type of music I want to play I would want the WH-10. It's just got this killer sweep on it and roars when paired with a fuzz or distortion.
The WH10 may be the holy grail, but you shouldn;'t discard the WD7 that fast. Have you actually tried all the knobs and played with it on a good tube amp?
Because I can get anything from wh10 to wylde from mine, as long as you understand how to set it. It screams, but it's also great clean :D
The weeping demon is just no good for me man....haha, I just don't like it. Plus isn't it all digital? I'm really big on analog. I'm thinking if I can't get one of these soon I'm gonna get a Geoffery Teese Real McCoy. Not sure which one yet though.
I've opened it up, it's just an analog optical inductorless wah :) like a Morley (but without the imo crappy sound).
Well okay.. compared to a RMC it's not king, but if you look at the price difference it's no surprise. And the WD7 is very very good for the money, just a lot of people never even look at it because it's not a crybaby or "only for metal" ..
I play funk, punk, hardrock and just general rock with it, it handles everything great :D
Beware when purchasing this rare pedal because i have two and they start to crackle after a while. My guitar tech said they have stacked pots so they are difficult to repair. Analog man does repairs if you do own one that needs repair.
first I was like; hmm big deal when you played in the beginning, but when you cranked the knob up I was blown away. this pedal surely has an awesome and killer sweep!
i just made a clone of one i had, the new one is inside a metal chasis, thought with the same electronics...its an amazing wah, only handicap the crappy chasis...but now i dont have that problem! love it with my fuzz before it...it screams
just a heads up--if you didn't know this which you probably do but still, these have a tremendous tendency to break. Most people I've heard from have put them in another casing that's made out of sturdier material because this is definitely the best wah pedal ever made but it's made out of...well...plastic haha. The thought of another one breaking is just...disgusting, so I decided to make sure you knew! haha. Sounds great, by the way--I haven't really heard one outside of JF so this was cool.
I've heard about people doing that, and although very imaginative and good for them for having the skill i've heard its VERY hard getting the same/similar sound. Good luck to you though if you do end up building one! :)
the only Dunlop Crybaby he used on Stadium Arcadium IS the Dimebag Wah. Also, he hasn't had a fuzzfactory on his board for ages - big muff has disappeared as wel, in favour of a fuzzrite fuzz and english muff'n (only wahwah on his board still is the WH-10)
do you know what pedal J.F. uses on 'Mercy Mercy'? or '21st century' cause im in a real dillema cause i want real bad a wah pedal with a j.F tone btu i want the tone that he uses on those tracks and i know hat to buy the ibanez or the dunlop crybaby
hey man, in fact you can sound almost every wah pedal like johns, if you do good vibrato's and stuff, it really will come near, for example, you can by this wh-10 but maybe you cant even play, then you wont get the john sound even out of a wh-10 you get me? i for myself i have a dunlop crybaby and i
can come really close to the sound john gets on his solo's so it don't even matter, but if you are f*cking good, you can by the wh-10 and you definitely get the frusciante sound, because this is THE frusciante pedal offcourse
I have a black/purple version original on sale on Ebay this very week (Ends on Christmas Day!) if anyone wants to obtain this kind of sound :) (Still might have to be a badass player like this guy as well!)

IF ANYONE OUT THERE HAS A IBANEZ WH10 AND A DUNLOP 535Q COULD YOU TRY AND REPLICATE THE WH10 SOUND WITH THE DUNLOP 535Q AND POST YOUR SETTINGS!!!
3 parameters on the 535Q
Wah Range: (1-6 ??)
Variable Q: ( 3 9 Oclock?? )
Vol. Boost: (3 9 Oclock??)
You'll be my hero if you post your settings! Thanks!!!!!

John used the Ibanez WH-10, Dunlop Crybaby and Dunlop Dime Wah on Stadium Arcadium.
Also he's been seen using the Foxx fuzz wah volume pedal on his pedal board now. Maybe this has replaced his Dimewah or big muff or fuzzfactory. :p

the only Dunlop Crybaby he used on Stadium Arcadium IS the Dimebag Wah. Also, he hasn't had a fuzzfactory on his board for ages - big muff has disappeared as wel, in favour of a fuzzrite fuzz and english muff'n (only wahwah on his board still is the WH-10)

hey man, in fact you can sound almost every wah pedal like johns, if you do good vibrato's and stuff, it really will come near, for example, you can by this wh-10 but maybe you cant even play, then you wont get the john sound even out of a wh-10 you get me? i for myself i have a dunlop crybaby and i

can come really close to the sound john gets on his solo's so it don't even matter, but if you are f*cking good, you can by the wh-10 and you definitely get the frusciante sound, because this is THE frusciante pedal offcourse

john doesnt use this wah pedal at all on stadium arcadium he uses the dunlop crybaby on tracks such as Shes Only 18 and Hey

i want a wah like john frusciante, which brand can have it ( ibañez, dunlop, vox, boss, digitech, other)? and what serie?
GuitarHero2320 4 years ago
This is the pedal he uses, so if you want a JFru tone get this one from ebay.
If you cant spend that much go for a Vox V847.

could anyone suggest a good cheaper alternative which will give a good solid john frusciante wah sound??
