You cannot sterotype all of the English. I agree there is a North/South divide, but there is one in American too. I don't hate the Irish or Scousers so that would render that comment invalid. There are some people who hate Scousers, the Irish or the Welsh, but I'm sure that exists in the US too. We no longer have an empire so it can't be in a crappy state. To be honest I am confused as to why you are watching a British programme if we are all hateful liars to you.

@mugwump666 What are you talking about? I haven't ever been to the Costa Del Sol. But I've been to the US 3 times. A lot of English people have been to the US at least once. How many times have you been here? We also get a lot of US culture over here. As a result most of us know far more about the US than Americans know about us, & what you do know is usually antiquated & decades out of date or incorrect stereotypes. That's the trouble with living in a government controlled bubble.

The reason that most American's don't watch you few meager TV shows is NOT because of "gov't control", it is because of the law of supply and demand. There is no demand because most Americans don't get your slang and cultural references. Conkers, Ant & Dec, flyover, inland revenue, fire-lighters, Umbongo, ect... Why bother?
