The RV1 now has new hybrid buses on since February 2011... WSH batch that First London has bought, although Dennis Dart Caetano's, Dennis Dart Marshalls, Dennis Dart Envrio 200, still appear on the route. Quite frankly a Plaxton President Trident (Double Decker) has appeared on the RV1 sometime around last year, as I was told.
Thanks for posting a super souvenir. I never rode this bus unfortunatly, but I saw them in the depot, which is now vanished because it was inside the 2012 Olympic site. If the hydrogen is produced by renewable sources, then it is a very green bus indeed.
it sounds like it has a transmission? :S it it's an automatic, does it have a torque converter? any specifications? the link you gave does not contain hardware specifications.
Yes, the bus has a normal automatic transmission. The transmission is standard one which is used in the standard Citaro. The bus is a Citaro with two a fuel cells on the roof. Only the electric engine was added. The reason for this is that they want to make it easier to see if it is a mistake for the new technology or form the standard technology.
we need fuel cell technologie to take over its the futur i mean so grean and so powerful as a future fuel source that would be great however fuel cell technology is very expensive it needs to be made cheaper for mainstream use. I think they are working on it.
I can only agree. I am travelling to Hamburg twice a month. They have 9 of these busses. Once a year I stay in London. Not only to travel on these busses because the Tube is very interesting, too.

Nice video, I heard these buses were quite expensive; a good one setting you back around £300,000!
What's the name of the background song?
Airmilez 3 years ago
Hi,
No the bus is much more expensive. It costs round about 1,200,000 $.

The 2526 is a Van Hool A 330, and no Mercedes Benz Citaro.
HVRZ1E 3 years ago
The 2526 is no fuel cell bus. It is a normal bus with a diesel engine.

thats what you need in london!
a fuel cell bus I wonder if you can get fuel cell cars???
wangtong04 3 years ago
you can get hybrid ones which have petrol and electric engines but after watching top gear they actually use more fuel than the average car.

a few Citys in Europe have had Fuel Cell Buses, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Amsterdam, Madrid, Porto, London
now only Hamburg in Germany drives these High-Technology Busses.
they have buyed all the Buses from Stuttgart, Amsterdam and Madrid
so 9 of the no emission Buses are driving through HAmburgs City all the days
thats great !
i like Fuel Cell Technology

mehrere Städte in Europa hatten Brennstoffzellenbusse
