The problem with transexuals is that sometimes it can be hard to tell if someone is a transexual. I for one would never want to have anything to do with a transexual. It is just wrong to turn a male female and a female male. However transexuals shouldnt be hated upon either, just they should be required to tell people that they are around often that they are transexuals, if people are cool with it great. However people have a right to know the gender fo their friends/Partner

How did someone convince you that there was a "female" brain that kept showing up in male bodies? Nature found the two compatible. But now we have doctors who claim nature made a mistake. Ironic that the whole sex change industry is founded on archaic definitions of what is male and what is female.

Transsexualism is basically type of intersexualism (modern term for hermaphroditism) - but it affects brain structures (in that case, BSTc) instead of body parts (and that's because brain develops much later than sexual organs). It's already proven that it's because of prenatal hormones and indirectly many genes (for example, some genes affect androgen receptors in brain).

@katiexdresser not really. when a baby is born, it already has a gender. males testicles emit testosterone and females ovaries emit estrogen, youre forcing you body to take a chemical it doesnt want to take naturally. example kim petras still has male features in his face because he is a man. no matter how much estrogen he takes he will still look like a man.

1 more thing. Many people here are saying a women is one who can give birth but keep in mind that many naturally born women cannot give birth. Also many people are saying that a women is one who can grow breast without taking hormones and keep in mind that some naturally born women cannot grow breast and are forced to get implants or in some cases have a hormone imbalance and also NEED to TAKE HORMONES. @CardinalRaker You're wrong. Usually gen SRY on chromosome Y makes testicles. They produce androgen, which affects developing brain structures, such as Bed Nucleus of Stria Terminalis, which as it seems is responsible for gender identity.
Even in terms of genes it's not simple. There are persons with chromosome Y who because of gene on chromosome 17, are phenotypical women who even have ovaries (to be precise, in biology not genes, but existence of ovaries makes female).

ANYONE can be a guy or a girl because this is behavior that we learn. Deep within us is our true identity. And that's something NOBODY can deny. Can you? The problem with transexuals is that sometimes it can be hard to tell if someone is a transexual. I for one would never want to have anything to do with a transexual. It is just wrong to turn a male female and a female male. However transexuals shouldnt be hated upon either, just they should be required to tell people that they are around often that they are transexuals, if people are cool with it great. However people have a right to know the gender fo their friends/Partner

Transsexuals are NOT obligated to tell their friends that they are transsexual. ridiculous. You absolutely do not have a right to know someone's personal medical issues if you are JUST their friend. It is none of your business.

@leeguboss Um actually some females grow hair on their chest and faces and legs and whatnot, but western culture does not like this, which is why you do not see it very often. Its because cultural custom requires that they wax, or bleach the facial hair. It is such a custom to get rid of the hair that we can talk about waxing or plucking and most people know what this is, yet many of those same people do not realize that women grow facial hair. Strange.
