  • GO HOOOSIERS!!

  • go buckeyes.

  • It was difficult for RR to use Robinson at other places last year with Minor and Brown getting as much snaps as they did and the lack of depth at qb. This year I expect D-Rob to be used more when Tate is the one taking the snaps at center with all signs pointing to Gardner playing this year

  • Stadium renovation alone will draw attention this season. Took the public tour last Wednesday: that is one awesome stadium. "Press Box" now occupies about 1/4th of the West Tower for club and sky boxes. Big Ten Network just announced Michigan Stadium's new capacity at: 109,901.

If the 2010 RichRod edition of the Wolverines puts it together this season, they will be Baaack ON TOP. Go Blue!

  • and let us pray for our deffense.

  • GO TO WINSTON SALEM FALCONS JAWAUN ARCHIE

  • @TheZooCrew

The alums would kick your first team's ass.

  • 3-Questions...

Can you say TRUE FRESHMAN ? How's your D-1 Coaching Job going?

    OBERMANN ? C'mon are you Freak'n serious?

Sorry I guess that counts as 4!

    Oh yeah get a LIFE!

  • 4 is quite possibly the worst play by a defensive end i have ever seen

  • @momogoblue Lol, gotta work on that

    GO BLUE!

  • looks like denard is a lot more comfortable throwing the ball, meaning he will have big run potential often.

  • how much longer does Richie Rich get at the helm? Prospects for anything better than 7-5 would be a stretch, IMO.

  • GO TO WINSTON SALEM FALCONS

  • well, looks like they will Beat the Irish again this year. Not a UM fan at all but I do have to admit, the Forcier-Robinson combo is pretty kick-ass.

  • I think most people overlook Forcier's stats in some of the losses last year. Against Wisconsin, he had a passer rating of almost 150. He was lights-out, but injured tailbacks plus shoddy defense equals defeat. Vincent Smith is okay, but I don't see him as being the inevitable starter, especially after surgery.

Forcier will probably start. But I'd love to see D-Rob come out vs. UConn and run a bit, then throw the same long strike to Roundtree seen here. UConn wouldn't know what the fuck to do.

  • @TheZooCrew exactly. Forcier as the starter with D-Rob as a wildcat would be the ideal situation.

  • @Poole1Dan lol hahahahahah forcier run a 4.5 forty ??? lol r u fucking insane idc what high school field he ran that on his ass doesnt run a 4.5 forty no wayyy in hell hes slow hes actually slower than alot of people thought he would be

  • @TheZooCrew dude im not trying to dog u out or anything but really who cares about passer rating or passing in this offense we dont need a great arm we need great speed and a qb whos capable of throwing maybe a few out passes here and there

  • @TheGloveMI "who cares about passer rating or passing in this offense"

I've explained this to you already: White had a solid to great passer rating and and therefore kept defenses honest, which allowed him to thrive as a runner and allowed the entire WVU offense to also thrive. Contrast this with D-Rob, who's passer rating was Sjeridan-esque. Teams just loaded the box cause they knew he was no passing threat, and thefore he sucked and the Michigan offense sucked with D-rob in. i rest my case

  • @Poole1Dan how many passes did robinson throw compared to sheridan ?? thank you and passer rating doesnt mean shit tebows passer rating was outta this world but does that mean hes a good qb ?? no what was whites passing yards??? exactly his passer rating was high because in the offense he made SAFE throws he didnt have to read defenses to much because alot of throws were pre determined and short the staple of our offensive passing game u dumb monkey

  • @TheGloveMI "how many passes did robinson throw compared"

the answer is 31 for Robinson vs. 137 for Sheridan. whats your point? all this proves is that Sheridan had more opportunities to fuck up then D-rob did. it does nothing to explain why D-robs passer rating was as bad as sheridans. Fact is, D-robs passer rating was as bad cause both D-Rob and Sheridan are wildly inaccurate arm punters. hopefully d-rob changes this now that he has experience, but right now, forcier is the far better option

  • @TheGloveMI "passer rating doesnt mean shit "

passer rating is universally considered to be the gold standard statistic in judging how good a QB is. it is the only statistic that quantifies the overall performance of quarterbacks by calculating their completion percentage, TD-int, yards per attempt, and total yards. the fact that you are arguing against this gold standard just shows you've lost this argument to me and are dismissing any facts that don't fit your pathetic defense of D-Rob.

  • @TheGloveMI "tebows passer rating was outta this world but does that mean hes a good qb "

first you argue against the gold standard that is passer rating, then you say a Heismen winning, 2 time national championship winning, 1st round draft pick, record setting QB is not a good QB? I'm assuming you think Brady and manning suck as well? faggot!

  • @TheGloveMI "no what was whites passing yards"

over 1500 from 06 to 08, and 828 in 05. White was no gunslinger, but he was a good enough passer to keep defenses honest, which allowed him to acell as a runner. If White was a bad passer, then he never would have been able to run crazy and the offense would ahve screeched to a ahult, whoch is exactly what happened with, OH YEAH, DENARD ROBINSON!!!!

white could pass. Robinson can't. End of story.

  • @Poole1Dan "white could pass. Robinson can't End of story."

Did you watch the spring game? Don't EVER judge a QB on their rookie/freshman year alone. You are a knowledgable person. You are intelligent. I think you and I both know of enough examples for which we can agree this is true. D-Rob is a talented, athletic, strong football player who has some of the best coaches working with him to improve his skills. Based on spring performances, I would say D-Rob has greatly improved.

  • @collins1188 "Did you watch the spring game?"

Yes I did. I was there, actually. Sat in front of the press box. I saw Robinson tear shit up that day, and I was thoroughly impressed. I beleive Robinson has progressed as a passer. That being said, I must take it with a grain of salt cause Robinson looked so maniacally shitty as a passer last season, unlike, you know, Tate Forcier. Until Robinson proves otherwise on game day, I will continue to beleive robinson is a very poor passer.

  • @collins1188 " Don't EVER judge a QB on their rookie/freshman year alone"

Rest assured I understand that one of the big reasons Robinson struggled as a passer was him being a totally inexperienced, raw True Freshman. I think Robinson will be "better" as a passer in 2010. but will he be any good as a passer, and will he be as good as Forcier already is? Sorry, but I doubt it. Forcier was sooooo far ahead of Robinson as a passer its almost embarrasing

  • @collins1188 ". D-Rob is a talented, athletic, strong football player who has some of the best coaches working with him to improve his skills"

aside from the coaches part, I agree with you. I haven't been too impressed with Rod Smith, but then again, I understand he has dealt with inexperienced quarterbacks in both 08 and 09

"I would say D-Rob has greatly improved."

I agree with you there as well.

  • @TheGloveMI "exactly his passer rating was high because in the offense he made SAFE throws"

this is mostly correct, but you're missing a key point: ROBINSON CAN'T EVEN MAKE SAFE PASSES! If he could, then his passer rating would have been like, you know, pat Whites and not like Nick Sheridans.

"alot of throws were pre determined and short the staple of our offensive passing game"

again, D-rob can't even do simple things like that! or else his QB rating would not have been sheridan-esque

  • @Poole1Dan calm down, he was a freshman last year, and there were times where he showed sparks in games of what he can be, there were times he would make perfect throws, the reciever would drop them and he would come back the next play and throw a pick because he tried to do too much. He looked more confident in the spring game, and he is a perfect match for Rod's offense.

  • @Kane9891 "he was a freshman last year"

so was Forcier, and his QB rating was 37 points higher (37!) then Robinson. Its one thing to struggle like Forcier did at times last season, its another thing to show no signs whatsoever of being an acceptable college passer like Robinson did. I beleive robinson has improved based on what I've read and what I saw in the spring game, but I still have serious doubts about Robinson, and I certainly don't think he should start ahead of Forcier.

  • @Poole1Dan Forcier also was in for spring ball last year, and had all summer to work with the coaches and players, Denard had three weeks before the season started! In most games also, Denard wasn't allowed to play enough to get his confidence up, or get any kind of rythym going either. Not saying that would've helped, but you have to consider that when comparing Tate and Denard.

  • @Kane9891 "Forcier also was in for spring ball last year"

all those facts you mentioned certainly explain why Forcier was simply better then Robinson, but 37 points better in the QB rating? Thats not extra time in the offseason. thats just being the FARRRR superior passer and hence the FARRRRR superior QB. Robinson was reputted to be an amazing runner but an extremely raw passer. it showed last season. But Forcier was the most accurate QB in his class. Forcier>Robinson

  • @Kane9891 "Denard wasn't allowed to play enough to get his confidence up"

Actually, when Robinson came in, it was always for at least a series. sometimes he'd play entire quarters, most notably against Delaware State. when Robinson threw the ball, he was flat out terrible. Ihope this has changed, but I won't beleive it until I see it in games. a 91 QB rating is Sheridan-esque. you can't tell me a QB oike that should start ahead of a returning starter and deadly accurate passer in Forcier

  • @Poole1Dan

The thing to hope for is enough of an improvement from Robinson to split the snaps pretty evenly. There's nothing better than keeping a defense freaked out for an entire game. I'm more worried about defense, anyway.

  • @TheZooCrew I agree with you that Robinson should still be used as a QB in some situations, like wildcat formations. I wanted him moved to slot receiver or tailback going into the spring, but he's shown enough progression as a passer that we all ought to be comfortable with him as a backup and as a sub. But Forcier should get the bulk of the snaps and should certainly be the man in the pocket in a close game in the 4th quarter.

  • @Poole1Dan from the spring game snaps it looked like denard took most of them with the first team i really wouldnt be suprised if denard ended up being the starter... they already stated that denard had the stronger arm and that hes more athletic than tate... but tate came to school earlier so he knew the offense better but now that they both have had a chance to learn the offense i think the job will be denards to lose either way i think we're in pretty good hands

  • @quest1567 I agree with you that right now, it looks like Denard Robinson will probably be the starting QB for the season opener against Uconn, however, I disagree that Michigan's offense will be in good hands with either D-Rob or Forcier. The fact is, Forcier is much more accuare then Denard, is a proven killer in the clutch, was much more productive then D-Rob was last season, and is a solid runner in his own right. Our offense was decent with Tate but was awful with D-Rob

  • @quest1567 Now granted, D-Rob has made alot of progress as a passer this offseason, and he showed it in the spring game. But he must translate that onto the field for any of us to legitimitaly say that the Wolverines will be in good hands with either Robinson or Forcier. Right now thats only true with Forcier, and thats why i want Forcier to be the starting QB. Alas, it looks like D-rob will start, and that could cost us the season opener

    Go Blue!

  • @Kane9891 " there were times he would make perfect throws, the reciever would drop them"

pardon me, but I don't recall that happening much at all. I saw a QB who made bad decisions by throwing the ball into traffic all the damn time and who made terribly inaccurate throws when he did throw it. He was literally as bad of a passer as Nick Sheridan was. Thats really bad man. You MIGHT be able to get away with that in like a triple option offense, but in a fricken spread offense? Forget it.

  • @Kane9891 "he is a perfect match for Rod's offense."

his speed and athleticism may be perfect for Rods offense, but he had that speed and athleticism last season, and our offense didn't do shit with it. We rarely even showed signs that we would be able to do any damage with Robinson at QB. And thats because Robinson appeared to have no skills as a passer. For michigans sake, I hope he plays as well as a passer on the field as he did in the spring game. we'll see what happens

    Go Blue

  • I'm actually on Poole1Dan's side this time. Forcier, while not possessing elite speed, is plenty elusive and can outrun just about all defensive linemen. He proved against Indiana and Purdue that he's willing to take hits and be gritty with all of his 175 pounds (he's up to 194 now). And Dan's also right about the zone read...Forcier got sacked mostly due to an awful platoon at right tackle as well as mistakes on the read. He never got run down from behind.

  • @TheZooCrew sorry dude but alot of his sacks were brough on by himself he scrambled out of protection and due to his lack of speed was forced to make a a play where he either hot sacked or fumbled

  • @TheGloveMI "alot of his sacks were brough on by himself he scrambled out of protection and due to his lack of speed "

he's a true freshman! what the fuck would you expect him to do? make veteran plays? he'll be donig that now that he's got experience! you know, for an idiot who tells me to be patient with dickrod, you sure have no patience for freshmen quarterbacks like Threet and Forcier even though freshmen quarterbacks not named Henne universally struggle!

  • Regardless of who win the qb battle at Michigan, I just hope rich rod sticks with the guy he picks....rotating quarterbacks, especially at a young age, is bad for the program

  • Looking at Tate's pass to Je'Ron again, that was just a amazing throw.

  • Defense is the real issue at Michigan. It looks like there is still some serious improvement needed. Michigan will score with the best of them, no doubt. But you can not expect to give up 40 points every week and compete for a confrence championship. Rich Rod knows he must win at least 8 games this year and defeat Michigan State to stay around in Ann Arbor.

  • Wow. Seeing it again on video after seeing it in person, I'm amazed at how crisp D Robs 97 yard bomb was. That was a Drew Henson-esque LASER!!!! Its great to see Robinson improve like he has

    Go Blue!

  • @Poole1Dan denard will be the start this season count on it I dont care about his throwing or how better a thrower forcier is because last time I checked this offense didnt need a arm it needed speed at qb and who has it ?? d rob

  • @TheGloveMI Denard MIGHT start this season. Forcier is a 12 game starter. Robinson is not. Forcier led two 4th quarter comeback victories in the final minutes and led another that sent the game to overtime. Robinson was put in a similar situation against iowa and threw a pick. Forcier's QB rating last season was almost 40 points higher then Robinsons was. Now Robinson has obviouslly improved, but lets get this clear: Forcier is a far supoerior passer, especially in terms of accuracy.

  • @TheGloveMI So given that Forcier has way more experience and is a way better passer, you cannot say that we can count on Denard being the starter. He may be a terrific runner, but Big Ten defenses will easily stuff a one dimensional QB by clogging the box with 8 or 9 defenders. Forcier can run well-albeit not nearly as well as Robinson-and is also a really good passer. Above all else, he's great in the clutch. Robinson has his work cut out for him upseating Forcier

  • @Poole1Dan your a moron lol and fyi do u knoe why forcier sucked it up towards the end of the season ??? because no one considerd him a threat running the ball they followed the running back everytime on the read and if forcier kept it he gained MAYBE 3 yards

  • @TheGloveMI "because no one considerd him a threat running the ball"

what a crock of shit! Forcier struggled cause he was a fucking TRUE FRESHMAN, and teams inevitably caught up with his raw skill-set! It had NOTHING to do with Forciers mythical "inability" to run the football. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry minus the sacks, which are a refelction on the o-line and not on Forcier. He is a good runner. Hence why he was rated as a DUAL THREAT QB and not a prostyle QB.

  • @TheGloveMI Furthermore, because of his INEXPERIENCE being a TRUE FRESHMAN, Forcier ineitably made some mistakes on zone reads, which resulted in his yards per carry being lower then what it would have been. The seasoning he got from a full year as a starter will easily solve that problem.

  • @Poole1Dan lol his mistakes is not what screwed him on the read you moron it was his speed u dumbass lol no one was scared of him running that they paid no attention gave him no respect and he still didnt do shit w it hell steven threet had a run longer than he did

  • @TheGloveMI "his mistakes is not what screwed him on the read"

That is a LIE! There were multiple times throught every game of the season where Forcier would misread the unblocked defensive end he was reading and would either hand it off when he shouldn't have or keep it when he should have handed it off. True Freshmen are naturally gonig to do that kind of shit. Its part of the growing pains.

  • @TheGloveMI Not to mention there were times where Forcier would try and get fancy and would try to run around the d-end and get tackled for a loss instead of guttint out that 3-4 yards and EXPERIENCED QB would take. And like I said before: Forcier avwraged 4.7 yards per carry minus the QB sacks, which are not necessarily his fault. Forcier is a good runner. Not nearly as good of a runner as D-Rob, but a good runner nonetheless. The facts I've presented have proven this.

  • @TheGloveMI "and he still didnt do shit w"

I dare you to ask Darius Fleming about that you dumbfuck. Forcier was a guy who averaged over 6 yards per carry in each of his three seasons as a starter in highschool. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry minus the QB sacks. He often got stopped for short gaines cause of poor decision making, not cause of a lack of running skills.

Question for you: if Forcier can't run, why did your boy dickrod recruit him?

  • @TheGloveMI "hell steven threet had a run longer than he did"

And Threet, being the poor runner that he is, got tracked down from behind. Forcier never got tracked down from behind. Your argument is invalid

  • @TheGloveMI Forcier is the BETTER option then Robinson cause he is a returning starter, unlike Robinson, has shown he can pass, unlike Robinson, and is like Joe Kontana in the clutch, uinlike Robinson

    Bing bing bing. Forcier wins.

  • Montana. Not Kontana.

  • @Poole1Dan your a idiot lol your the same person whos aid threet is great so why am i even arguing with you ? lol forciers slow and is not a runner he cant hold on to the ball and he cant break tackles he has a little mobility but no speed shit i run the same forty he does and i havent played football for 3 years

  • @TheGloveMI "forciers slow"

FALSE. Forciers 40 time was 4.55 at all the camps he was at. Get a clue

    "and is not a runner"

Then again, why did your boy dickrod recruit him? And besides, Forcier proved plenty of times last year that he CAN run, and run well. He shpuld be the starting QB given he is a returning starter and a much better passer then D-Rob

  • @Poole1Dan rich rod didnt want forcier to be honest he was more then happy with taking newsome and beaver forcier was a 3rd option dumbass do u follow michigan football ???

  • @TheGloveMI "happy with taking newsome and beaver"

doesn't matter that he was more happy with Newsome and Beaver. he would not have extended an offer to Forcier if he didn't want Forcier!!!! The fact that you like option A and B over Option C does not mean you don't like Option C. Besides, according to your shitty logic, dickrod msut want Tate over Denard or else he would ahve offered a scholarship to Deanrd BEFORE tate. But instead he offered Tate first. how do you like that bitch?

  • @Poole1Dan lol your a moron lol what you say makes no sense at all rod wanted atleast 3 other qbs before forcier he took forcier because he was the last decent qb left and no he wouldnt have offered d rob first because d rob was supposed to go play corner at florida and not qb any where else but after D ROB expressed he wanted to play qb rich rod ran to him because he knows that robinson would be a better fit

  • @TheGloveMI "rod wanted atleast 3 other qbs before forcier"

this fact does nothing to prove that dickrod didn't want Forcier. it just shows that he liked other quarterbacks better then he liked Forcier. Like I said yesterday: he would not have extended an offer to Forcier if he didn't want Forcier.

  • @TheGloveMI "he took forcier because he was the last decent qb left "

again, this does nothing to show that dickrod didn't want Forcier. you never extend a scholarship offer to a player you don't want. the fact that dickrod gave Forcier a scholarship means dickrod WANTED Forcier, regardless if he wanted newsome, Beaver, and Russell Shepard more then he WANTED Forcier.

  • @TheGloveMI this is Michigan. what D-Rob would have played at Florida is irrelevant. D-Rob was an athlete recruit, not a CB recruit. he played QB in highschool and was pretty damn good at it, which is one of the reasons he was a high level 4 star recruit. Dickrod knew dang well that D-Rob could play QB, but he nonetheless extended an offer to forcier first, which means dickrod wanted Forcier as a QB more then he wanted D-rob as a QB. BOOM!!!!!

  • @TheGloveMI "but after D ROB expressed he wanted to play qb"

False. D-Rob was recruited as an athlete. Some teams wanted him as a quarterback, some as a cornerback, some as a receiver. Robinson was not offered by Michigan until after Beaver decommited, which of course happened after Forcier got an offer and after Forcier commited. so its just a plain old FACT that dickrod wanted Forcier as a QB more then D-rob, which by your deranged logic must mean he never wanted D-Rob

  • @TheGloveMI "your the same person whos aid threet is great'

and Threet has yet to show what he can do with the experience he has. So this ad hominem attack of yours is fallacious and invalid

"he cant hold on to the ball"

so you mean to tell me that inexperienced true freshmen......fumble the football? WOW! What a revelation!!

    "he cant break tackles"

    Um, neither can Robinson.

  • @TheGloveMI " i run the same forty he does"

PROVE IT!!! Post a youtube video showing that you can run a 4.55 forty, and I don't care whether its by laser or stopwatch! Oh, thats right, you're using baseless hyperbole in an attempt to make a point that I've debunked all over this video.

  • "last time I checked this offense didnt need a arm"

bullshit. Pat White had a QB rating of at least 150 and a completion percentage of at least 65% in 2006 and 2007. As a redshirt freshmen in 2005, his completion percentage was 57% and his QB rating was 132. Contrast this with Denard Robinsons 91 QB rating (comparable to nick Sheridans) and his 46% completion percentage.

  • @Poopee1FDan

You're an idiot Poopee1Fan, LOL!! Doyou actually think anyone takes anything you post as valid or matter of fact? You also said Steven Threet was an "elite QB" with a "rocket arm" and that RR was "screwing with his skillset"

Here's the latest on your mancrush:

Stephen Threet, ASU Spring Game, 9-27 for 117 yards with 3 picks. SOLID!

Just go take your meds, admit to all UM fans you're a dork idiot and close your account Lisper.

  • @TheGloveMI the fact is, you cannot succeed as a QB in dickrods offense without putting up decent-good passing numbers. You need an arm. Forcier has shown on game day he has it. Denard has not. Case closed.

  • @Poole1Dan yea your right pat white had a awesome arm lol hahah what a moron dude u kno nothing how did wv beat themt eams they played why were they so dangerous ??? pat whites feet destroyed every game plan they didnt care about his arm or lack there of they cared about him ripping off a 40 yard run every other time he touched the bal FYI this is not a pro set dumbass

  • @TheGloveMI I did not say Pat White had an awesome arm, I said that you need to have a decent to good arm in order to succeed in dickrods offense. White had a decent arm, which combined with his running skills allowed him to put up great passing numbers. Denard Robinson, unfortunately, has not shown on game day that he has even a decent arm. Instead, he's a fucking arm punter. Hence why his QB rating was comparable to Sheridans despite his running skills being better then Whites.

  • @TheGloveMI " they didnt care about his arm or lack there of"

FALSE. Denard Robinson is as good if not a better runner then White ever was (I don't recall White ripping off a 43 yard run like D-Rob did against Western) and yet, Denard was terrible as a passer. So what happened? Teams stuffed the box with 9 thousand defenders, and the Michigan offense was NON-EXISTENT with Robinson at the helm. So yes, you DO need to have a decent arm to succeed in dickrods offense.

  • @Poole1Dan are u the same guy who said threet will be a star and his awesome ??? lol hahahahahahah u are

  • @TheGloveMI He sure the hell is, this clown has no idea what "talent" is, don't waste your time with Lisper, he's just pissed because he's beginning (I think) to realize what a LOSER he is!

  • HAHAHAHA Nice to see John Navarre again lol. I'm really excited for the season to begin I just really hope our defense can hold and play better than how they played this year. Michigan's defensive line was AWEFUL last year. I'm feeling a possible 7 0r 8 win season maybe 9 GO BLUE

  • @theproducerspart2 thing is, our dline was the best part of our defense lol

  • I also love how buckeye fans hang out at Michigan videos and drop their 2 cents worth...shows their pathetic obsession with our program, LOL!!!

  • Nice pass/catch and run by DRob and Roundtree, but give props to Teric Jones (#14), he was chasing Roundtree and damm near caught him!

Not a whole lot you can really take from a controlled scrimmage. DRob has definitley improved his passing. And I think Tate may have just had a bad day, though I still see him doing some of the same stuff from '09....i.e. carrying that ball like a loaf of bread. He "should have" learned something from that gift wrapped TD against tUOS last season.

    ~GO BLUE!!

  • @Brewhaman

I'm with you on Teric Jones...it's nice to see a guy who is not looking to start damn near catch our best receiver (from last year) after starting almost 10 yards behind him. Poor Vlad Emilien; it's obvious that knee is still in bad shape. (last year).

Tate's TD pass to Stokes was ridiculous. The camera movement doesn't do it justice...that was literally threading the needle between Floyd and Turner, who had perfect coverage.

  • @TheZooCrew Yeah, you know Jomes has got some horses under the hood if he can almost catch him even with 10 yards separating the two...kudos to TJones! And you're right, Vlad must still be feeling that knee injury, it was clear on that pass, Jones just went zooming by (sort of reminded me of the Trent run down of Harvin)!

Tate's pass WAS nice, he needled it through 2 defenders, as he's done in the past. That's something Tate has that DRob doesn't have right now (give DRob some time though).

  • @TheZooCrew this might be pessimistic, but i think roundtree is just kinda slow, remember the illinois game? he got from behind on a play that should've been a touchdown. it probably cost us the game because after we fumbled on the goalline, we just gave up. i'm not blaming him though, he just seemed slow.

  • @rockediny

Roundtree looks a considerable amount faster now. Last year, Teric Jones would have caught him on that 97-yard pass from Denard. Roundtree has a lot of talent and motivation and track speed is likely something he's worked on. Notice the end-arounds he ran during the spring game...you don't run those with a slow dude.

  • I think Denard should start. If he can get accuracy with his passes, the Defense won't know how to stop him. If they blitz, he'll pass, If they play the pass, he'll run for a first down. He COULD be untouchable.

  • @Detlockerroom

Seeing Denard evolve into a better QB than Tate would be nice, but I still think that's a dream right now. Denard looked really good here, but Tate's strongest trait is his "moxie," his ability to create something from nothing and think on his feet. Denard is more dynamic, but I'll wait until they both have played a few games this fall to make a real assessment. Either way, most defenses will probably have headaches all game long.

  • @Detlockerroom He's faster than Pat White and looks to be a better thrower at this point in his career than Pat White.

    Denard>Pat White.

  • @ridlyn Pat White wasn't a fumbler. Until Denard can hang onto the ball, he'll never be anywhere near Pat White-caliber.

  • @dustomatic1974 Ya, who woulda thought a true freshman would fumble the ball. That's just ludicrous!

  • @ridlyn How is being a freshman any excuse for fumbling? Do you not hold onto the same football in highschool?

  • @dustomatic1974 You can't be serious? True Freshman = Mistakes. Let's see you play a Div.1 college football game and hold onto the ball. Highschool>Div.1 College football is the same transition as College>NFL.

Yes you hold onto the ball the same you tard, the hits and players are so much harder and better. I don't see how you failed to realize that.

  • @ridlyn I played highschool football and Div 1aa college football, actually. And "Sorry I dropped the ball, Coach, but that guy hit me really hard" was never an acceptable excuse from anybody, Freshman or otherwise.

And Denard's fumble % was enormous even for a true freshman.

  • @dustomatic1974 your a moron high school and college are totally different and the best rb in the nfl has a fumbling issue as well have u herd of adrian peterson??? and yea being a freshman is an excuse for not only fumbling but making mistakes every freshman does it its expected

  • @TheGloveMI HIghschool and college ARE different... but the ball is the same. There is no excuse for fumbling a ball. It would be like excusing a freshman for forgetting his helmet because he's in college now and it's harder than highschool.

And actually, the fumbling problem AD has is a big reason the Vikings didn't go to the Super Bowl, and why there are so many people who believe Chris Johnson is the best back in the league.

    Oh... and Denard isn't AD.

Like I said, he's no Pat White.

  • @dustomatic1974 Oh, and Pat White didn't have a fumbling problem as a freshman. So again, until he gets a grip on that issue, he'll never be Pat White.

  • @Detlockerroom I think it's funny people are saying Denard should start now, when last year most people were saying they thought Denard shouldn't be a QB at all.

  • @dustomatic1974 yeah i know. however i was never one of those people. Denard had all the things that you COULDN'T teach a QB. The only things he needed to learn were things that you COULD teach a QB. If ever gets an arm ad accuracy like T. Brady or Jay Cutler or Chad Henne AND you add on top of that his speed...he will be unstoppable.

  • Robinson looked the best. All I can say is these Qb's won't be matured enough this year, but as a Buckeye fan in years to come I'm scared of what these Qb's can do. This year won't be the year, but 2011-2012 will be! Hate to say it!

  • Denard looks good.
