The war was possibly over for Germany as early as '41 due to the fact that Great Britain and the United States were also at war with Germany. By D-Day, the two allies had already bombed Germany, greatly limiting her war production and forcing Germany to redirect a lot of resources to the west in preparation for an invasion. Without this would Russia have the ability to conquer Germany? Not likely.
