This was shown in its original form at the Cambridge Film Festival. It was packed cinema and no one had heard of it.
By the end, the whole crowd was just stone silent. They were mesmerised and I feel absolutely privileged to have seen it in a cinema. It is an overused phrase, but it really was a treat.
Someone really needs to get this out on DVD and with the ORIGINAL Jan Garbarek score.
Thank you for uploading it. I really appreciate it!
A million thanks for sharing this. I saw this in a movie theatre many years ago, and have always wanted to see it again. Such a fascinating and beatiful film. The music blends in very well too.
we once showed the origininal 70mm print in our cinema. i remember it having "more" colour. btw this utube-rip even doesn´t give one the idea of the cinema-experience...
@tremorist Was this in City in Amsterdam? I was there too. Picture and colours were beautiful, there was a huge concave 70mm screen to show it on. Unfortunately we couldn't get the sound quite right. The projector had not been showing 70mm for years. City is now gone.
Pan & scan: yes, that's true, but not too much I think -- sorry for that! My VHS copy was unfortunately almost b/w and pretty much blured. The terrible YouTube flash converter do the rest... :-(

@edgrrr111 No. Delphi Filmpalast in Berlin. The Sound-Layout was 6-Channel-Dolby-SR magnetic (format 43) as far as i remember. Nice show.
