@ItsCoolFromSaturn It did have some good games and I do hope to add the Panasonic console to my gaming collection, the problem was though after a year or so after its release, everyone was already hyping all over the Playstation and the Sega Saturn was coming out as well, in fact I had never heard of 3DO until about 2003 or so because of Sega and Sony
@Beltzer0072 I'd love to replace my dead 3DO. Yeah man, it was a pretty sweet console. It didn't deserve to just up and die. The issue is, the Saturn and the Playstation just had a better install base. The games were developed to be more advanced, the consoles were easier to develop for, they didn't cost $1000 or whatever the 3DO retailed for. It's shame it's such an underrated machine.
@ItsCoolFromSaturn yeah the Neo Geo AES had the same problem. Great system, great games, but was retailed at 600 dollars and the games themselves were at 250 bucks and above in fact I think the first Metal Slug can run into 400 to 500 dollars nowadays

However, in the short amount of time it was on the shelf, many of the games for it did not show off the system's true power. However, many homebrewers have made games that really show off how powerful the Atari Jaguar is, and it's much better than the SNES, Genesis, and 3DO.

Atari just put in a combination of of processors, like 32-bit, 16-bit, and 2 8-bits.
So the Jaguar didn't have an advanced system, just a more complex one.

I'm playing with a REAL gaming console, because the REAL 3DO, because it's a real piece of trash that makes you want to puke your guts out. Universe? Try the small old video game store down the street. That's the only place where it's "advanced".

The SEGA Genesis was quite successful and they taunted the SNES. With the "Genesis does" commercials. Then Nintendo taunted SEGA in several ways in Donkey Kong country 1&2. With a DKC1 Commmercial they taunted the 32X and the SEGACd. In DKC2,@ the end of the game there is a trash can that says "No Hopers" and right by it is Sonic's shoes. Even Nintendo, taunts. What ever you do, DO NOT check out the I'm a Wii commercial where they bash the PS3.

I've heard of some versions (there were like several) exceeding the standard retail price, and some stores charged more than others. Considering the value of a dollar at the time, $700 was helluva expensive.

Companies have always made fun of each other through the use of advertisements. They make fun of their competitors to sell off their stock at an uneven given.
If you look up some of the Intellivision commercials, you'll see that Mattel (the company of the system at the time) was poking fun at Atari constantly. If your system boasts better graphics, why not showoff?
