These types of cameras are cool. I bought a Bushell off Amazon because some SOB had cut the fuel line on my Kaw parked out under the carport. But, I got too scared of the chance of my $300-plus camera (with SD card) being found, being taken. Sooo I skipped trying to catch the saboteur but did decide to see about some paranormal stuff ... Thus I placed the camera in my bedroom and caught using the inferred some strange orbs on film! They move across or down and look like lit ping-pong balls!
It's 24. The 2 extra are for error checking and user info. (like I'm active and you have 10 seconds to get out of the way...) How long have you had trail cams? Don't know how the lights work? DeerTrackingCameras in deed.
I got the 8 megapixel bone collector one and got it at gander mtn for like 229 I thank but my ain't got the veiwer with I wish did but I like it size and all it is worth it
ok, i have one of these, and i cant figure out how to make it take pictures and video in color, or does it do it automatically? please respond. thanks
thanks very much i have one of my own and love it but i think the infared pictures start to early because at about an hour before dark all the pictures are too bright to make out. like if it should still be in color picture mode. Do u have any problems like this? if so or not would u know any kind of way to fix this?
Great video. I was looking to find out about the menu options and you covered them perfectly. I was wondering how well it takes close-up video. Im needing to see raccoon, opossum and skunk activities from about 2-3 feet away (day and night). How clear is the video from those distances ? How much area does the infrared light cover during night video, at those distances ? I would appreciate any feed back. Thanks again for the video.
@mxdrmn Close up video during the daytime has been fine in my experience. You could have some issues with close up video at night, because the infrared emitters can 'white out' your image the closer it gets. You have the same issue with many of the flash-cameras as well though. Best of luck!
Great review of the product.....it's reviews like these that help people make informed decisions about buying a new product. I'll be going out to purchase one of these cameras to add to the arsenal for scouting our hunting property this year!
thanks for the great info. I might buy that cam. I hope it is durable. I am just tired of getting crappy electronics that don't live up to claims or simply don't work.
So far, so good. After a few of weeks of pretty heavy use, I still have two bars on my battery meter. The batteries on my Scoutguard SG550 that I placed out the same day are already dead. I'm getting decent quality pics and vids.
One other issue I noted. There is a power wire that runs from the batteries to the camera. It is exposed in the case and could be subject to accidental damage. I haven't had a problem with it, but it is something to be cautious around. Good luck, I think you'll like it.
Ive got a few ScoutGuards...no probelms with the batteries, very very long time in the woods, even in cold weather. Like I said these Bushnell trophy cams are made by the same company: Boly Media. Both are great cams.
