would be nice to know more details about this experiment like what type of current ac or dc, waveform, amplitude, peak and ontime vs off time of pulse if any, the way the coil is wound, how many turns also is it bifilar wound and some more extras you can biff in as well plz. :)

is this working like this, take a single loop of wire and get its resonant frequency (complete 360 phase on one turn, to say) , then de-tune it so the positive and negative phases propagate around the wire, giving both north and south poles that the compass is attracted to.

@dasraiser 'positive and negative phases'?.........during a phase can only be negative or positive not both at the same time. even if what you claim is to be true, the magnetic field cycling in one direction would cancel the opposing field caused by the other phase in the opposite direction. bear in mind they would cancel because the magnetic field would be the same strength given the same current is flowing through both wires. In saying that i dont know how this coil actually works.

@UniversalExpanse hmm i think you misunderstand me, if you have one single 360' loop of wire, you could have AC going into it and with the right frequency have both + and - on the wire at the same time, ie both north and south poles, and if that was detuned it would propagate around the wire.

@dasraiser ah i gotcha, it sounds similar to motor action when on one half of the loop is being attracted and on the otherside of the armature the same loop is being repelled by the opposite field pole, i know what your saying is different but is it similar principle?. If i have the wrong idea give me a rough idea what frequency would be needed, given you cant go too high because inductance doesnt like high frequencies unless its skin effects starts doing strange things.

Granted, there is a lot of religous implications, but the are a lot of scientific ones too.....the spiritual aspect, you can take it or leave it, but it accurately describes the nature black holes and rotating magnetic fields. The guy has been rigorously peir reviewed and still no fault has been found with his theory. The lead tech researcher of microsoft supports for his work and has paitened microchips based on his findings

sir the Schwarzschild metric mathematically works. far different than saying that the sequences 124875 and 396 are key to understanding energy and matter. that's not even getting into his free energy or healing claims. show how you can calculate the difference in mass between a proton and an electron from basic principles or something along that line and I'll accept this. but I will not let you shift the burden of proof onto me do disprove something when you make no attempt to prove it.

I think you will find that Tesla experimented with many types of coil named after him, including the standard radial air cored resonant transfored (Tesla Coil) Bifilar wound coils and flat pancake coils, where he discovered rotating magnetic fields, which they do when fed with AC at a resonant frequency thats why the compass spins. Good place to start is wind a flat coil which is resonant at say 7MHz and feed a sine wave at say 30 volts into it then put your compass on top and see what happens.

Quite a lot if you know what Tesla was trying to do.

If you scale this experiment up and create two pancake coils, fed with several thousands of volts where the two rotating magnetic fields intersect heating will occur much like a microwave. This is the technolnogy that Scalar Weapons are allegedly believed to be based on. nice for burning holes in clouds and stuff.

You do need pretty big coils though. This was the basis of Tesla's magnifying transmitter.

Right physics will tell you why a compass points north. If the magnetic field is rotating, its "North" pole will rotate too. in a clockwise direction. Remember this coil is being pulsed with a, short duty cycle, sine, AC signal from a function generator. This effect only occurs with pancake coils and not with normal helically wound coils, However classical physics say this is not possible, Tesla proved it is in 1894. Two fields created with this coil

This clip is not demonstrating that. This clip is demonstrating what the magnetic field does in a pancake coil. Tesla always believed that the magnetic fields rotated as they do here. The scalar waves they also produce also travel at 1.5 times the speed of light.

I believe the rotation you are seeing is due to the effects of vibration on the spindle, since it is not perfect in its shape. It would be interesting to make a few of these and see if they all move in the same direction.

this can't be a flat tesla coil. Do you have a primary winding and a high voltage transformer with a capacitor bank and safety gaps all hooked up to it? if not, then it is not a tesla coil, just a regular coil.

By 'Tesla Coil', the poster is referring to the configuration of the coil, patented by Tesla as an electromagnet. In the configuration referred to by Telsa, it's a bi-filar coil with the primary winding feeding back into itself, increasing its own capacitance and output by several (hundreds or thousands is within reason) times. This was also used as the primary coil of what you're referring to, the 'classic' tesla coil.
