  • i think he was the first person on superstars challenge to win both the 100 yard dash and the weightlifting competitions. I met him and his wife, their children are going to be freak athletes, both good looking parents. I miss these days as well, there was a time when the Big Ten ruled and Penn State was tops. All this SEC talk is killing me, Bama/LSU/Flor all down at some point, Big Ten will rise again. RIP jopa.

  • If you check out the 1999 highlights here on youtube - the commentator says after a great Lavar tackle, "Hey - have you ever been chased by a grizzly bear??" LOL....

  • Ahh, I miss those days. The days where PSU didnt suck donkey nuts.

  • Those were the days...

  • he is a radio host on a webcast - whats amazing about that. he never had it as a pro.

  • @rexcide thats incorrect. he was a pro-bowler with the redskins, and played hard in the nfl for 5 years. he has no more knees. he had it as a pro. hail to the redskins

  • Welcome to Linebacker U!

  • Just a microcosm of how gifted athletically this guy was.

  • @ryandude2448 it was an exaggeration of course :)

  • @skins2153 I have 5797534 autographs from him just laying around the house from when I was little. Every Thursday I got to eat dinner with the PSU football team and made him even sign one for my imaginary friend!

  • @kale0209 theres no fucking way its even possible to have 5.8 MILLION autographs of 1 person...

  • he is such an awesome man and great football player! it was amazing being around him and he has done great things with his life!

  • daaaaaaamn

  • tht takes some guts... i tried that in high school once and dislocated my shoulder...

this is guy was a prime athlete!

  • moten from maryland did something like that yesterday. fuckin amazing

  • beast!!!!

  • glorious

  • thats just fuckin filthy

  • i hated that when he played for the skins and we were in a 4th and 1 or w/e situation he would still try to do this. -_- he was a great player, but dude...

still have his jersey tho! never wear it.

  • @ropeadopeshope Just send it to me. LaVar was the man.

  • i can do that

  • I still remember that leap.........fucking amazing shit.........he was one of the best athletes to ever play at Penn State.........BAR NONE.

  • You cant even do that on madden

  • hes fucking awsome

  • nice play

  • what happened to lavar?. he could have been a good player. I mean he retired aikman he had this play, he played well for the redskins until they cut him. Then he go's to new york where he just falls off the face of earth :\ .

  • he retired i think. he owns a restaurant in maryland now near Fedex Field.

  • I knew that but I was sayin it like . where did his game fall off? . I thought the redskins cut him when they didn't need to :\ . if they kept him I'm sure he would be great :D .

  • oh i dont really know how it all happened. all i kno is that he went one yr with New York then fell off his motorcycle and that was it.

  • lavar had a season ending injury agaisnt the cowboys in 07, the same game romo made his first apperance, then in the off season he was involved in the motorcycle accident that pretty much put an end to his carrer, he played well with new york until that point

  • Oh , I see I see. thanks.

  • Man, he could hit. I think the business side of the game got to him. Disrespected by the Skins in numerous ways, motorcycle accident, knee problems...

He made his money, though, and a ton of memories for Redskin fans. We'll always love Lavar.

  • Penn State owns and Me and my Dad know LaVar and Joe Parterno cause there hang out spot is my dads resturants!!!!! i get all of PSU's autographs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • liar

  • im not kidding at all 100% truth!!!!!!

  • thats pretty cool

  • he went to my high school North hills muh fuckaaass

  • Wow!

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Played for the redskins, but he's done now.

  • o ya! redskins! woot woot!

  • WE are

  • Penn State!

  • WE are...

  • Penn State!!

  • I was on the sidelines... unbelievable moment

  • i wish he was still with the redskins....he was awesome!

  • FUCKING A

  • LOL

  • BEAST

  • Just an amazing playmaker at PSU. Too bad he had to act like an ass at times.

  • i will always honor and never forget you man

  • one of the most legendary players to ever rock penn state

  • It's like WATCH OUT BELOOOOOW

  • that is awesome

  • this was in ncaa 2006 highlight real just amazing

  • im a long time skins fan and i can tell u that in his years before he was injured, he was the funnest player to watch on the team, he was our sean taylor before sean taylor, and now that hes gone too (RIP my man) its time for landry to be our defensive savior

  • wow

  • He actually looks like a mountain lion attacking its prey here.

  • I miss him playing for the Redskins.

  • My dad was at this game he said it looked even better when you where there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think now thought jets are making better picks thought

  • lol part of kyle brady failure in NFL seen throught the eyes of fans was when jets picked him over warren sapp... but the biggest first round bust the jets picked had to be FULLBACK roger vick... Or QB ken O brian over dan marino... hard to pick with the jets picking so bad...

  • i agree kyle brady didnt choke but he was wayyyy to overratted coming out of college. im a jets fan and that was the worst pick in the history of their franchise

  • DAMN! im a buckeye fan, but i gotta admit, I miss This dude i loved watching him play,

didn't he do somthing like this in his day against us Back in like 99 or 98?

So...? PSU Fans who you rooting For Big Ten or SEC (National Title gm) yeah yeah i know were gonna ruin it again huh?

sec is undefeated in bowls against us so it will always be that way

  • I always cheer for Big 10 teams in bowl games (unless they play Notre Dame or Pitt, my 2nd and third favorite teams, PSU is of course my 1st team). I was hoping you'd win the NCG, and you looked a lot better this year than in 2006, but there's still room for improvement. I think PSU wins the Big 10 in 2008 and goes to either the NCG or Rose Bowl, the Illini are a BCS at large team or get a Rose Bowl rematch, and OSU goes to the Rose Bowl or Capital One Bowl.

  • Your s PSU fan and you root for sPITT? Isn't there a law against that or something? I mean rooting for Notre Dame as a nitter is bad enough but rooitng for sPITT is just sick. You do realize that PSU and sPITT HATE eachother right. How many rivals out there do you know of that hate eachother so much they can't even come to an agreement to play eachother?

  • Like I said, I know it's weird. It's like the people who are fans of both Ohio State and Michigan, or Alabama and Auburn, or Oklahoma and Texas. But the important thing is I have a stratified first, second, third, etc favorite team. I like Penn State more than Pitt by enough that I love seeing Penn State blow out Pitt when they play, but for the rest of the season I wish them well (except against Notre Dame). But I wanna see that rivalry come back, it's my favorite football rivalry of all time.

  • thats right iZPHAT FYI psu owns all

  • He is still working with his agents to get back into the NFL. Curtis enis was good you dumb shit. LJ is injured but has been a beast since entering the nfl. Robbie Gould is one of the best kickers. Kerry Collins had a good career. He brought the Giants to the superbowl. LaVar and Courtney were good in the NFL they just had outside problems and injuries in lavars part. If poz didn't get injured he would be dominate in Buffalo. Kyle Brady was great. Levi Brown is a great o-tackle.

  • most psu players choke in nfl...lavar, courtney brown, ki jana carter, kerry collins, blair thomas, kyle brady, curtis enis

  • kyle brady did not choke he's a good play

lj is still beasting it up in the nfl i can't beleive he didn't get the heismen, he hit 2000 yards in the least amount of carries

  • sure they stunk it up in the pros but they were the shit at Penn State and thats all that really matters to me.

  • Shut the fuck up you dumb ass!! you obviously dont watch football or know anything about football... stick to watching soccer... he went to the pro bowl his first three years in the nfl! injuries took him out of football... he played six years and first three pro bowl rest injured and motorcycle accident forced him to retire you fucking asshole

  • FUCK YOU and all Pitt teams suck!!

  • lavar didnt choke in the pros he got hurt ... big difference i actually think he went pro bowl didnt he ?

  • Beautiful!!

  • he got injured in the NFL and that fucked up his carreer

  • Technically he got injured on the interstate. ;)

  • ridiculous.. too bad his nfl career isnt as impressive as his college. WE R PENN STATE

  • wow

  • I go to the highschool he went to

  • my favorite PSU player that ever lived. WE ARE

  • Holy...

  • good job

  • WE R PENN STATE!

  • Wow i tryed doing this in my game last year and i watched the guy run under in mid air and i land flat on my back i felt so dumb!!!

  • YOu guys goy it all wrong Lavar is one of the most talented players in recent years he just has had horrible injury problems and that is why he is rarely playing i remember a few years back he was like a 98 overal in maddden

  • look at the air its like leonard leaping in rutgers

  • nobody leaps like leonard leaps

  • true! what was i thinkin, im a die hard Rutgers fan!

  • He went to my high school and I was pretty young at the time so my memory isn't so good on this, but I've heard he did a play like this in high school.

  • he had to have played like that you fool .. thats wh he was amazing at penn state and amazing in the pro's .. DUH

  • He did. It was against Seneca Valley. Watch the North Hills High School website this fall and it will be posted.

  • Arrington was an excellent athlete but not a great ball player at the pro level. When the Redskins were shopping him around, almost nobody was interested in him.

  • thast why he started 3 straight NFC PRO BOWLS right ?

  • lavar is done

  • ok, he didn't play last year because redskins have no idea what they want on defense. stopping people from scoring is obviously not a goal. second, sitting pine in D1 still means you got serious skill. sitting pine in the NFL means you're good enough to feed your family by just playing a game. meaning you're damn good.

  • And the competition is a lot better in the pros, which is why he couldn't get on the field last year with Washington, and why he'll likely be sitting by mid-season this year with NYG.

  • There's a difference between doing something in high school and college. His competition was a LOT better in NCAA ball.

  • he did it all the time in high school, so it's nothing new

  • This is my favorite player... and this is the first time i saw this... i heard about it but never saw it before.... its unbelivable

  • I saw this live on TV, and I knew right then and there that Arrington was going to be an NFL star.

  • I just played this over again for the 500th time. Still hasn't gotten old. Great post!
