And on top of that I think the budget for a movie like that (not to mention a trilogy) would be pretty small, especially since LoK isn't nearly as known and loved of a franchise to begin with, even in gaming community. Besides without Bell and Templeman it's just not the same.
It's nice to dream, but LoK-movie is better left unmade.

He did a great job at labeling everyone but there is something I must mention [being a LOK heavy fan.] Dumah was the most arrogant...but not he most powerful. Raziel was the first to be arisen by kain therefore recieved the greatest of Kain's gifts, allowing him to be the most powerful son Kain had [even though technically none of them were his son XD]
@UchihaShimo Um....Dumah was the Strongest out of all the brothers, their for being the most powerful, maybe not in some other skills. Before you fight Dumah in Soul Reaver 1, Raizel even says "Even the strongest vampire is vulnerable."
@ZealSeraph Nah, Raziel got much stronger physically after he was cast into the abyss. The Elder God tells you that during the block moving tutorial right at the start of the game.
Dumah would have always been the most physically powerful of the bunch. At least to begin with anyway. The rest of Kain's lieutenats grew to be fair bit bigger than him, so their size a lone might have made them stronger. It's impossible to say though, logic and videogames don't really go hand in hand lol.
i found then opening scene to this game so touching, the music while raziel comentates over the top about the pain for so long, and waking up destroyed, such a ritious creature.

This soundtrack has an amazing feel about it!!! The game was just awesome!! I would love a film made by a top director! Im sure it would be a massive hit and put to shame all these 'modern' vampire films that are just pathetic, with no storyline to speak of. Hey, more work for Simon Templeman & Michael Bell. Scary thing is I could see Depp or Keanu Reeves as Raziel. I need help. Wanna talk nightmares? I once dreamt I owned an Lok theme restaurant. Dining rooms like areas of the game (main area was throne room), sushi bar looked like Elder God's lair (tentacles all over that morphed into benches), wall-size vidscreens w/animations, & souvenir shop w/clan banners, mugs, etc; even dreamed part of the menu. My subconscious is a scary place!
@TheBeccamom You mean the movie? I doubt Templeman and Bell would even be asked to be a part of it. Even if it was an animation, and even if they were asked to be the voice actors, it would still lack one very important person: Tony Jay. It just wouldn't be the same with someone else voicing Elder God.

@TheLydianRocks It would'nt be terrible JUST because Tony Jay wasn't there. They did replace his role as Mortanius in Defiance and the new voice worked quite well.
The reason why I'm against the idea of a movie is simply that so far there hasn't been any good movies based on video games, and LoK-movie with huge storyline isn't the easiest one to make. It would be rushed and most likely have some romantic scenes with Kain and Umah (because that stuff sells), and let's not forget pointless cameos.
@tubeshark actually, Tony Jay is easily replaceable, as voice acting is one of the most flexible aspects of movie making, also if they were to make an animated movie, I'm sure they would ask Simon and Mike, I mean if they aren't busy it would make sense to have them as voice actors
@livedrainer9 It would be possible, but you'd still need good plot to go with the voices, no useless cameos, and someone who's been part of the developement of the franchise from the start to make sure this movie's development would be given the effort it deserves. Video game movies today, be it CGI or live action, are based on fan service. They show off all the favorite characters, but this takes away from the storytelling. Advent Children, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, all good examples of this.

Kain himself translates it as "woe to the conquered" or "suffering to the conquered". It was his victory cry as a human nobleman that he kept using as a vampire when defeating his enemies.
@tubeshark I beg to differ, Vae Victis actually means Woe to the vanquished /defeated ones. victis comes from victor(winner) and means "the people who had suffered from their opponents victory, the accurate english translation is defeated or vanquished. It becomes victo if the defeated is masculine, or victae if the defeated was feminine. Your explanation about Kain however was spot on!!! :) :)
@Edge73100 He was killed, but offered a chance for revenge by Mortanius the Necromancer. This however was his plot to restore balance in Nosgoth, having Kain murder everyone from the circle of nine to restore their pillars that were corrupted when Ariel was murdered. It's very complicated. I recommend playing the original Blood Omen to fully understand the story of Kain.
@Edge73100 At the end of Defiance there was only Kain, young Kain at the pillars, and Janos possessed by the hylden who became the Sarafan Lord. Possibly Vorador too.
The hylden are never explained fully, other than saying that they were a rivaling race of the vampires. Since vampires were originally angelic, and the hylden were demonic, I'd say there's some variation of the eternal battle of heaven and hell going on.
I guess it's safe to say that the hylden were some advanced type of demons.
@Edge73100 No. You can fight the hylden in their real form only in Blood Omen 2. In Defiance the enemies with glowing green eyes are possessed by them though.
@Edge73100 Demons that attack Raziel are working for Elder God. To him the hylden are probably no different than vampires. Moebius actually referred to them as an inconvenience that would be dealt with in time. They are also the reason why vampires became immortal and Elder God got pissed in the first place.
So it seems there are three different sides at work in Nosgoth. Four if you count the humans, although they are mainly puppets in the whole affair.
@Edge73100 He was a pawn in other players' game, not a player himself. Started as a sarafan-puppet of fate with no knowledge about anything that was going on, then became Kain's number one-man until was executed, after that ended up on the path of vengeance guided by the Elder God, and finally went back to Kain's side after finding his true place on the board.
It's funny really, how the only one who had free will ended up being everyone else's pawn.
I've always wished vampire Raziel was playable in one of these games.

Hey, more work for Simon Templeman & Michael Bell. Scary thing is I could see Depp or Keanu Reeves as Raziel. I need help. Wanna talk nightmares? I once dreamt I owned an Lok theme restaurant. Dining rooms like areas of the game (main area was throne room), sushi bar looked like Elder God's lair (tentacles all over that morphed into benches), wall-size vidscreens w/animations, & souvenir shop w/clan banners, mugs, etc; even dreamed part of the menu. My subconscious is a scary place!

@TheBeccamom You mean the movie? I doubt Templeman and Bell would even be asked to be a part of it. Even if it was an animation, and even if they were asked to be the voice actors, it would still lack one very important person: Tony Jay. It just wouldn't be the same with someone else voicing Elder God.
And I would visit that restaurant. Sounds like fun :D

i admit it would be felt a little i dont think it should be a deciding factor in making this game into a film. even if all the voices are different, as long as they're good it doesn't matter

@TheLydianRocks It would'nt be terrible JUST because Tony Jay wasn't there. They did replace his role as Mortanius in Defiance and the new voice worked quite well.
The reason why I'm against the idea of a movie is simply that so far there hasn't been any good movies based on video games, and LoK-movie with huge storyline isn't the easiest one to make. It would be rushed and most likely have some romantic scenes with Kain and Umah (because that stuff sells), and let's not forget pointless cameos.

@tubeshark actually, Tony Jay is easily replaceable, as voice acting is one of the most flexible aspects of movie making, also if they were to make an animated movie, I'm sure they would ask Simon and Mike, I mean if they aren't busy it would make sense to have them as voice actors

@livedrainer9 It would be possible, but you'd still need good plot to go with the voices, no useless cameos, and someone who's been part of the developement of the franchise from the start to make sure this movie's development would be given the effort it deserves. Video game movies today, be it CGI or live action, are based on fan service. They show off all the favorite characters, but this takes away from the storytelling. Advent Children, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, all good examples of this.

@tubeshark unfortunately it's not a joke,but it's no surprise as Boll keeps flooding the film industry with "films" baswed on games and doesn't seem to give up,lets remind his shit films like House of the dead,alone in the dark (which was screwed up most of all),I worry that he will make something similar to Blade-Raziel killing vampires a monsters in the streets,but not in Nosgoth but maybe New York,for "more pleasure" :-D

Kain himself translates it as "woe to the conquered" or "suffering to the conquered". It was his victory cry as a human nobleman that he kept using as a vampire when defeating his enemies.

@tubeshark I beg to differ, Vae Victis actually means Woe to the vanquished /defeated ones. victis comes from victor(winner) and means "the people who had suffered from their opponents victory, the accurate english translation is defeated or vanquished. It becomes victo if the defeated is masculine, or victae if the defeated was feminine. Your explanation about Kain however was spot on!!! :) :)

@Edge73100 He was killed, but offered a chance for revenge by Mortanius the Necromancer. This however was his plot to restore balance in Nosgoth, having Kain murder everyone from the circle of nine to restore their pillars that were corrupted when Ariel was murdered. It's very complicated. I recommend playing the original Blood Omen to fully understand the story of Kain.

@Edge73100 At the end of Defiance there was only Kain, young Kain at the pillars, and Janos possessed by the hylden who became the Sarafan Lord. Possibly Vorador too.
The hylden are never explained fully, other than saying that they were a rivaling race of the vampires. Since vampires were originally angelic, and the hylden were demonic, I'd say there's some variation of the eternal battle of heaven and hell going on.
I guess it's safe to say that the hylden were some advanced type of demons.

@Edge73100 No. You can fight the hylden in their real form only in Blood Omen 2. In Defiance the enemies with glowing green eyes are possessed by them though.

@Edge73100 Demons that attack Raziel are working for Elder God. To him the hylden are probably no different than vampires. Moebius actually referred to them as an inconvenience that would be dealt with in time. They are also the reason why vampires became immortal and Elder God got pissed in the first place.
So it seems there are three different sides at work in Nosgoth. Four if you count the humans, although they are mainly puppets in the whole affair.

@Edge73100 He was a pawn in other players' game, not a player himself. Started as a sarafan-puppet of fate with no knowledge about anything that was going on, then became Kain's number one-man until was executed, after that ended up on the path of vengeance guided by the Elder God, and finally went back to Kain's side after finding his true place on the board.
It's funny really, how the only one who had free will ended up being everyone else's pawn.
