omg my gerbil escaped a few days ago, luckily my dad caught it running around in the kitchen lol. Anyway, they've never attemped to escape before, yet all they do now is try to get out their cage. I havent treated them any differently? any help on how to stop this??? Much apreciated :P
@xSassySkullzx I wish I knew! Our gerbils are always escaping. (Well, maybe once a month). The only solution seems to be to keep them in a room where the cats can't get in, and cover the gap at the bottom of the door. And of course to play with them enough so they don't run away when you try to catch them. But they do love their freedom!
teehee their sooooooo cute! I think you should try and get some more colored gerbil i have four ones peach (Squirt) one is peach and white (Nibbles) ones all grey (Storm) and ones sandy colored (Sandy) I also have an albino mouse named MW lol
We'd love to get more gerbils, but I don't think the current gerbils would like it. This way, with just 4, they get more attention :)I've never had a mouse, I bet they're interesting!
Aquariums are definitely better. We used to only have Rotastak, but we just got an old aquarium and the gerbils prefer it - they can make their own tunnels!
That's Pippin, she's the troublemaker - since making that video she attacked one of the others (we now keep them in two groups), and last week she chewed a hole in the ROOF of her house and escaped again!

I used the same type of play area. Make the corners a lot less noticable. It's easier for them to climb when the walls are closer.
I have this multi level wire cage that's perfect for not letting escapes. The problem is the bedding get's scattered outside the cage.

Cute!!!
I have 2 gerbils, but they can't escape because they live in an aquarium (no water of course!)
