I have zero problem with your voice, only with your spelling....also was hoping to see more of the track! ah well, still good job capturing what you did!
I love how all of the tracks are like one big know, I went on that ride and I also got stuck, but not right there, I got stuck at the very end on the last small hill. It just jerked to a stop right there and alot of people hit there heads on the seat iinfront of them, then it made a horrible screeching sound and moved slowly ahead... nice video!
omg that was the year i went cause i was waiting in line and they told us it was broke and we could still wait if we wanted to so we did and we were waiting for like 3 hours
francisco cedillo disneyland cast calls december 2005 so im siting here watching your video and im looking at the computer screens and as a former ride opp my self sevral things come to mind well this could be for mantince perposes withc waht it looks like it could basicaly be a back up system from the ride and or the launch systme all rides that are on e this type of scale have things like this vonsider it like an over ride system it could also be a brake area \
i work at the ride and there is alot more that meets the eye to that ride and those computers are for the brake system and the launching systeem of the lsm
oo this is soo unfair, my last emergency stop on rocknrollercoaster last year, i wasn't allowed to take videos inside when i tried to film the launch bit
he's right there LSMs. Linear Synchronous Motors. But it's on the car (catapult) and ex. of LIMs would be on Big Thunder Mountain and California Screamin'.
Oh, it was probably just a roll back then. I mean every now and then I'm sure the catapult can't reach full speed, and those breaks are there for that reason; they close right after it passes them.
Oh, and not to be annoying haha, but there's no cables that launch you :p
Alright i will try to clear some things up, 1. those were not hydraulics, they were air tanks for the breaks after the launch, 2. I don't know for shure but the computers are most likely for the lsm's, 3. They probably had an aborted launch, so they launched some distance into the launch the catch car relased the train and the breaks closed and slowed the train so it went up half of the inversion and came to a complete stop.
the cool thing is if youre on a ride that breaks down at disney, u get a pass to come back and hop right on, out of all the times ive been to disney and thats a lot, ive only been on one ride that brioke down and it was test track...just opened so the lines were huge
it's never broke down and ive been 16 times to this park (8 holidays 2 visits a holiday) and this has never been broken down. only test track has been broken down when i have been there
night before last, this ride broke down before the last batch of people for the day, including myself, got on the ride. they gave us all fast passes too.
well if you heard of the technology used for this ride...its the same as Intamin uses for thier lauched coasters such as Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster...it uses a pully catch car driven by a wheel pulley to catapult the ride forward such as fighter jets on naval ships...it has a lot of complications becuz it has a high risk of failure rate..
It actually doesn't get stuck that much. I used to work there and most of the time is someone sticks their feet or hands out, sensors go off and the ride shuts off and the proper procedures need to take place and it takes up to 20 min to get it running again.
It does not use electromagnets at all, it's used a grab arm on a pull system that basically yanks the train forward and lets it go.. There are no magnets in the rockin rollercoaster system at all... (source: worked there)
It does use lsm's. Those are those white things embedded in the track. If it used a hydraulic launch you would see a catch car and a guide railing in the track. The brakes are there to make sure the train is traveling at the exact set speed. If its a little to fast, they just trim the train and let it keep going.
If you watch the Modern Marvels, it says that they are trying to use magnets to launch the jets off the carriers. It uses exrtemely pwerful electromagnets inbedded on the track. Only King Da Ka and Top Thrill Dragster use pulley systems to launch the trains.
I know this because i want to become an Imagineer and I read a lot of imagineering books
@Imagineer0914 i hate to burst your bubble but TTD and KK aren't the only coasters that use hydraulic/pulley systems. Some other fine examples are Xcellerator, Stealth, Storm Runner, Blue Fire.... and those are just a few. I've been on Top Thrill Dragster and I must say, it made rockin roller coaster feel like a trolley ride.
It's amazing the ammount of power it takes to launch the coaster. I was watching one of the special features on one of my roller coaster DVD's and in one of the interviews with one of the designers of IOA at Universal, he said that Orlando would "Brown Out" every time a train was launced if they were to connect the Incredible Hulk coaster to Orlando's municipal power supply. Those LSM"s use an incredible amount of power to acellerate and decellerate at train.
its funny cuz wen u said "oh theres a seat" , that was the same exact one i sat in a while back because i had to go through the exit with my little sister because she didint wana ride so we sat in that seat. just something i noticed
It sounds like you know a lot about the roller coaster. Sucks that your ride didn't work out. Funny thing is I've been on that ride close to 163 times and it has never broken down at a point where we were forced to off the ride and get the lights on. Sorry it happened to you. I hope you were able to ride it again later or at a time when it was fixed.
well the launch and going through the loop and almost getting stuck upside down was cool! and yes lets just say i do ALOT of research!! lmao thanks for the comment

That was interesting. It's cool that the LSMs look like those on Maverick, etc, i've never seen rnrc's before, for obvious reasons :p
Three things though. Hydraulics? Are you talking about the brakes or something? Because I don't know about any hydraulics on rnrc.
Do you know what those desktop computers are actually for?
And finally, Did you guys launch, then stop right away? Because that seems like that would hurt :P
JakeD7 2 years ago
no haha the brakes slowed us down alot. then we started to go through the first loop. then we stalled out mid loop then came back down
WDW1993 2 years ago
Oh, it was probably just a roll back then. I mean every now and then I'm sure the catapult can't reach full speed, and those breaks are there for that reason; they close right after it passes them.

@Xenomorph237 I would say about an 8. Most of it is smooth... around the ending it gets kinda bumpy... but its still a really smooth ride
WDW1993 1 year ago
Alright i will try to clear some things up, 1. those were not hydraulics, they were air tanks for the breaks after the launch, 2. are the LSMS the electro magnets that help keep the momentum of the ride???
darkangelglue500 2 years ago
Yes, they accelerate the train during the launch. After that its all gravity.

LSM is linear synchronous motors. it's just a different type of launching
WDW1993 2 years ago
It actually LIM linear induction motors, progressively increasing the energy through electro magnets to propel the trains.
homiewannalive 2 years ago
I made a mistake sry, I forgot that this is a catch car LSM not a LIM launch.
homiewannalive 2 years ago
a LSM is just several LIM motors put in a line so they activate at different times
