who cares about music. When I was born I never signed a contract that I'd only listen to music.
I listen to birds singing with the very same pleasure with which I listen to people singing. I listen to thunderstorms or crickets or howling wind with the very same pleasure with which I listen to electric guitars or someone who can navigate a steinway.
@olisofsunhillow my understanding is that Bucket was doing some work for a spoken word compilation that was a benafit of some kind and the crossed paths and then wanted to work with each other again.
The only reason why I don't care for the noises is just because they seem TOO loud. They cover up the beauty of the music in my opinion. If they were quieter than I'm fine with that. Most of the time they are okay, but they get pretty loud.
@StopRunningKid fair call, but the sort of noises used ARE intrusive: sirens, fighter planes, armies marching... perhaps it illustrates a point, especially considering the song's title.
@emmadazey oh yeah, I totally agree. I prefer when he plays this live anyway. I get what you mane though. It's not just white noise like rain or an ocean breeze, but LOUD busy noises that really distract.
@KEVINJAGDIPSINGH How is my mind not opened? Also, you don't agree that they are a little distracting. Dude, I like rain sounds or things like that in the back, but it's just preference for me. It's not that I'm arrogant. Just because I hate a rap song doesn't mean that I can't appreciate it. At the same time, a bunch of noises don't really make much for music anyway. Do you consider the sound of someone farting to be music? No, it's just noise.
@whyiohwhy Wow, I never claimed that, but you guys think whatever the fuck you want. If you just want to listen to a bunch of noises, fine by me. I love this song, but when the noise is louder than the beautiful guitar than I get a little distracted. Sorry that I'm so "close minded". It's like covering a beautiful girl in tar. You want to see the girl, but the tar is too thick. Just like this song, I want to hear the guitar, but the sound is too thick. Get over it bitches.
@StopRunningKid The acoustic guitar part on this track has been re-released as "Beyond The Knowing on Buckethead's latest solo album "Electric Sea". It's only the acoustic guitar part, and I recommend listening to it. Uninterrupted genius is what it is.
@StopRunningKid It's not been released yet, but the songs are on YouTube. Also, I have a recording of the guitar part entitled "Acoustic Solo (Live)" which was given to me by a friend from a Buckethead froum around 3 years ago. I think it's brilliant that he chose to put it on this album, as I love that solo.
I don't see why people are still so shallow, like puddles we are just waiting to dry up. Without the sounds it wouldn't be what it is, without the speeches it would be nothing. Thank You BucketHead & Viggo.
@ThePyrettaBlaze I agree. I hate when people fuck with music as if its different from any other art form. Do you ask the curator at the museum to see the Mona Lisa with a hat on instead? Pompous assholes.
@eastwoodize "When Johnny Comes Marching Home", "Ants Go Marching" and "Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye" all share the same melody. I think he had in mind the Irish antiwar song "Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye" See d3N-YhopLpc

@StopRunningKid open your mind a bit and realize that music doesn't have to come from instruments only.
