  • This video helped me replace the cracked camstack in my old Viking Husqvarna 2000. Thank you for posting this, it works great now.

  • Question. Does a cracked cam cause any other problems with the machine that will still be present after I put in a new cam?

  • @beckston No the cracked cam does not cause other problems. However we usually do a full service that includes: adjust needle to hook clearance, timing, center needle position, button hole balance, reverse feed equalization, feed height, timing centering, tension adjustment, polish needle plate, polish hook, presser foot height, shaft and gear play. Other issues to check are the slide crank and the lubricant on the pattern selector and width selector. This usually takes 3-4 hours.

  • Usually if the fixed cam is cracked it has not changed the timing of the hook to needle.

  • Hi, nice video, I'm wondering if timing is an issue after replacing the cam stack?

  • cool video. I am rebuilding an old viking 6000 that does not have the panel for easy removal of the part. Thank you for putting this up
