they are selling them cause Czech Rep. does not need them any more they need money more than the planes. after the seperation of the rousia Czech rep. have them in gorund for so long and they starting selling them
@kretenskej Yes they have them in Russia. They're manufactured my Vodochody in The Czech Republic. They're then imported to Russia and other Allied countries. They're sold here in the States for recreational use only.
@zerocker45: You're absolutely right, they do, and the reason why they're common in many countrie is because the Russians discard them after 100 flight time hours (at least they USED to). And the airframe itself is of Russain design as are 99% of the components used in the aircraft. As I said, it's of Czech, origin with alot of worldwide usage. Is that too hard to understand?
I've seen these at Thunder Over Louisville and they are very beautiful planes. Also here's an interesting fact: They retire them in Russia after 1,000 flight hours. That's a new airframe here in the States.
the song is very baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad
Nice, one crashed at Frederick, MD airport some years back. I met the guy that owns an L39 at Fredericks, but I'm not sure if it is the same bird or even the same guy that I met.
I flew in one the other day. I work on them for a living so I get to fly once in a while. They aren't particularly fast but it's absolutely amazing what these planes will do in the hands of a skilled pilot.
