• bella mujer

  • Sorry, it may be a great film....I never saw it, but my favorite film that year that I thought should have won best picture was "The Color Purple" If I remember it was`nt even until "Schindler`s LIst" that Steven Speilberg won an Oscar at all, and that was for best director

  • this film had make me cry

  • This film, this music, transports those of us who grew up in the old Africa magically back to there, and then. Growing up in the African bush was very special. I wrote my story in 'Speak Swahili, Dammit!'

  • Great movie. Lovers of Africa appreciate it. I grew up in Tanganyika, later Tanzania, then went to a Kenya boarding school. I know the house in Karen, near Nairobi, where most of the film was shot. My book, 'Speak Swahili, Dammit!', the story of my own wild East African childhood, is doing well on Amazon, & as an Apple iBook & Kindle eBook. Short video on youtube, with original footage in the bush 1950's & 60's, under Speak Swahili, Dammit!

  • The best from Streep, Redford, Pollack and Barry. Hollywood at it's best.

  • #! ALL TIME FAVE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!

    Gracias

Anyone know how to call the song they sing to Duet Finch Hatton and Berkeley raising a few glasses of cognac in front of Karen?

    Thanks

  • Haven't seen the movie in years. I remember a bonfire scene, a celebration after winning WWII. Kenyans marching around the fire with torches, etc. Music sounded like a British marching tune. Anyone remember that & know the name of the song?

  • i know noone gives a shit, but isak Dinesen was my great aunt ^.^!!! js:3

  • @givemethecatfood You must be very proud of her. She was one of the very first true feminists and she did it the hard way. Not by carrying a sign and marching but by doing. It still surprises me that so many of the thoughts she admitted to in "Out of Africa" I have had myself; so many of her viewpoints. She knew well how to phrase her thoughts in a stunningly original way and to give form to the feelings and thoughts residing in most women, were they honest with themselves.

  • @givemethecatfood I care, and I am proud FOR you. She must have been remarkable to still be - to this day - so loved in Kenya.

  • Meryl Streep: stirring role :love , independance of women :two themes always in the actuality today ; difficult to live both ....

  • Fabulous! Thank you!

  • "Don't worry about us, we will be allright'

    ".

  • Streep's voice gets on my pip,she is always playing herself.

  • Quelle splendeur!

  • Do read the book every one, it´s one of the most beautiful written book ever!!! Such poetry to her words...

  • yes I SO AGREE and this movie and the soundtrack is SO MOVING... I have been 'in love" with Redford since I was a young girl, am now 45 and I love his acting and Meryl Streep is also one of my VERY FAV actresses as well... they are BOTH SO SO TALENTED and really "take on" their characters... they are flawless here in "Out of Africa" ... John Barry's soundtrack here makes my heart sour, esp coupled with the scenery omg... so beautiful... and I do love Karen's servant, who calls her "sabu"...

  • i just have to say it ...i love u meryl

  • I read her book when young. She lived it all! an aristocrat life in europe, a full intelectual life, a rural ilfe, she built things, and built deep relationships, she had adventure, loved hunting and to be on safari, she loved and was loved, she was lonely, was cheated and cheated herself, she had... and had not... it was rough but she had all a life should have...

  • I TOTALLY LOVE THIS MOVIE!

I my opinion, it's her best most (altough it's hard to say)...

So beautiful music, so beautiful Meryl

  • I love this movie so much, and it's even sweeter that it's from Isak Dinesen's autobiographical story "Out of Africa".

She was born about five years before my grandmother was, and I love to watch the period manners and dress because it puts me in mind of my grandmother, who I miss a lot!

  • Wonderfull movie, that I can watch over and over again. And Meryl Streep...what a beautiful woman.

  • THERE ARE ANGELS IN AMERICA :DD INDEED

  • The definition of a woman. Great movie.

  • I just love this movie so much and Merryl has touched my heart..she's so wonderful. The soundtrack of the movie is one of the best if not the Best!! I love to watch this movie on and on..for as long as I live.

  • Meryl Streep's beauty is deeper than even her appearance would suggest in this movie. The score/soundtrack is also on of the best.

  • I finelly got the movie and have and I think I have just about worn it out! Still can't watch it without crying!

  • She was absolutely robbed of the Oscar for this film, this is one of the great american masterpeices of cinema... long live Meryl !!

  • she would have won in any other year but geraldine page was brilliant though that year. I watched it the other day and i beleive meryl didnt have that one BIG oscar winning speech in the movie...i reckonif she had that she might hjave won, but the [performance was underplayed dont you think, albeit wonderfully....?

  • Geraldine Page wasn't great in that movie; she was just the sentimental favorite. I don't think many remember her movie or her performance.

  • she will stay the best actress in the whole world ..what kind o women she is love u meryl nd god bless u nd keep u for us always u r the first

  • Meryl streep is not human, she has to be an angle <3 I love her

  • Just saw it again today for about the 30th time. It is probably my all time favorite; the cinematography, the romance, the culture, the history, the acting....absolutely sublime.

  • For me...the best movie ever. Still and after so many years and after have seen the film so many, many times...enjoy every second of this amazing movie and great actors...

  • I watched this movie for the first time today and I thought it was absolutely beautiful! Meryl looks so great in it, and her acting is perfect as always. And Robert Redfords not to hard to look at either ;)

  • I walked down the isle to this piece of beautiful music. Not a dry eye in the church!

  • Oh, that must have been beautiful. I love every score from this film. ♥♥♥

    How amazing.

  • Oh, I couldn't have handled it on my wedding day. It would have ruined my make-up! But I do love the song, and the movie, very much. It came out the year my mother died & I would go to the theater alone & watch it over and over. I think I saw it 8 times that first year.

  • @becikh what a wonderful song choice!

  • @becikh So did I, two years ago this October. I knew from the moment I heard this theme song years ago that I would marry to this. Music so drenched in love and depth...♥

  • @becikh

wow that made me tear up just picturing it<3

  • What a wonderful film! No words to say more!

  • as beautiful as a baby's tear

    is shit!

  • I have the soundtrack CD. Every single song on it is just as beautiful as this one is. Love it.

  • musique sublime pour un film sublime

  • sublime Meryl ,,,,,,,

  • A song so beautiful there need not be any words......

  • RIP MISTER POLLACK ...........

  • "He was not mine..." Boże, proszę pomóż...

  • can someone upload the whole movie?

  • cosa si può dire...SPETTACOLARE MERYL!!!!

  • Thank you! Great movie,Great music !!!

  • This music is great!!! Verry-verry lovely song!

  • j adore c est magnif

  • My all time favorite film! Love the story , Africa, and the music.

  • Such a good movie. Long but so worth the watch. Meryl and Redford. How could you go wrong.

  • que hermosa película, y que bellísima música!!!!

  • very beautiful film and a fantastic music!!!!

  • very romantic...oh!!!

  • What a wonderful Actress! Best movie ever...

  • I love this film so much and the actors also,

    this song is great !

  • I love and admire her really!

  • Out of Africa' is the most favourite films for me so far, 2-3 times I've ever seen from theatre and uncountable times from Video&DVD.

Thank you so much for the upload.

  • I just love this movie and the theme. I was there when they were "shooting" for the movie. Please upload the complete movie if possible.

  • No! Go buy it if you like it so much! Put some money in the pockets of the people who made it! Damned freeloading teenagers.

  • What are you doing then? Did you watch this in the cinema when first released? Did you pay a part of the ticket sale that was purchased towards the upkeeping of any wildlife sanctuary? Did you go and purchase a vinyl CD copy of the music for this movie? I did all this as well as other things which gave a lot to those who made this movie. And lastly, may be you yourself are a teenager!!

  • So how long before that vinyl CD of yours got burned up by the laser in your CD player?

I think I rented the VHS tape when it was first available.

There's a difference between watching a 2 minute fanvid and downloading an entire 2 hour bootleg.

And I haven't been a teenager for nearly 30 years.

  • My vinyl record is in an excellent condition and the CD is the same. I had purchased these when the film was first released and later the VHS but not on rent. I have seen the movie countless times in the cinema and especially when the makers were involved in supporting wildlife sanctuaries and the Karen Blixen Home - I lived just two miles away and also met some actors during the filming.

  • I know the house where Isak Dinssen (Karen Blixen) lived - my house was just a few miles away. The area has now been named after her - "Karen". And yes this is in Kenya.

  • TAK TO JA PRAWDZIWA CNOTA

  • meryl streep is THE BEST, and most gifted true and talented actresses of all time

  • Great video. It sums up all the film. "Out of Africa" is one of my favourite films: the story is so moving, the landscapes are wonderful, and Meryl Streep's performance is unforgettable. And the music... simply sublime. I cry each time I watch this film, which is one of the most beautiful films ever made.

  • Robert Redford ruined a potentially great movie.

  • kippevel :)

  • A beautiful video tribute to Meryl Streep and to the exquisite music. Thank you so much.

  • I love the book

  • no fuck heads...Merly Streep acted as Karen Blixen memoirs of her life in Africa 1907-1934 i fink smth lyk that...this movie is called OUT OF AFRICA..

  • fabuleux...

  • i felt Meryl was miscast. I would have liked to have seen Glenn Close or Judy Davis in this part.

  • btw, just to clarify, i think Meryl is amazingly talented.

  • Get real, moron

  • Meryl Streep was the only person for this intellectual role. Streep was born to play Karen Blixen.

    One of my top movies!

  • Oh God, Meryl Streep is Very Very Big ACTRIST ,and this movie is great!

  • She might be talented indeed but her Danish accent is poor.

  • If this is the theme from out of africa then John Barry used the same thing for dances with wolves.

  • You are mistaken. The theme from Dances With Wolves may sound similar.

  • umm.... is that the real karen blixen?? isn´t this movie is made based on the book "Out of Africa"??I don´t think this is the real Karen because she was like in her 40s when she wrote the book though.

  • does anybody know if anybody posted this movie on here yet?

  • i'm so sick of all this traffic i just can't wait to get out of africa

  • hahaha, that's all I can think of now when I see this. "You're a good driver...Meryl"

  • that movie is great!

i'm not a great fan of drama/romance, i usually watch horror movies, but this one is fabulous! meryl streep is fantastic in Out of Africa!

  • meryl streep is fabulous in this movie!

  • What is the name of this theme music and composer?

  • Hi! It's the theme of the movie "Out of Africa" and the composer is John Barry. :-)

  • Thnaks. I noticed it's have a deeping feeling, similar to John Barry's work inSomewhere in Time. I would like to found the music sheet for piano.

  • If I don't make a mistake it is "I had a farm in Africa" from John Barry and is the main title from the movie, actually is the open title and is longer than this version.

  • John Barry's composition transports me to a different place...thank you!

  • Thanks great ! Love that movie so much and Robert Redford, Meryl, Klaus Maria Brandauer ...it´s in my heart !

  • esta muy bien si

  • The music score by John Barry very wonderful and deeply emotional to listen along with movie. Thanks for posting such a wonderful movie up there. :)

  • Thanks for this vid!

I get misty eyed just thinking about that movie and it's soundtrack (both of which I own). Out of Africa is possibly the most beautiful film ever made.

  • Robert Redford single handedly destroyed this film.

  • perfection

  • Ah, John Barry,a composer supreme----

  • My lili is the best about Meryl ! I love what you've made on this short clip ! I hope you're gonna continue ! ^^ Love ya, little angel !

  • Oh thank you my angel! You're so sweet... kiss & hug
