Every time I play as the Teutonic Order, Denmark and a mess of his allies declare war on me. Also I have the newest expansions as well, does anyone have this problem as well?
@Rodgey557 its not a problem, its the game. you may want to pick on all the nations you can and get all the land you can before they attack you, just an advise.
i need to know how to give fleets leaders because i started a new game as milan and i got quest for the new world really early but i can't equip an explorer to my fleet for some reason. do i need a higher navel tech or what?
@Daleksaresupreme1 You need "Quest for the New World" National Idea in order to recruit explorers and conquistadors. Then you can assign them to a fleet or army the same way you would for any admiral/general
In the game the Teutons got destroyed/vassalized most of the time (when I played any nation except them), they have too many enemies, no friends and enemy cores on their provinces. In the expansion poland/lithuania get missions to conquer them. Latin tech sucks before 1500 as eastern tech got good cavalry (until caracolle/ galoop cavalry arrives they can't resist Eastern sipahis/swarm cavalry) and the 10% advantage don't compensate.
damn i always start losing cash from the beginning, i try every freaking thing to make my economy better but it just keeps on freaking going in the minus and its really pissing me off
@nukeboy14 Try to get an Master of the mint asap at the start, that will help you to get some income at the start of the game, and later on when you got some more pronvinces and got some good national ideas it will work out for you. Hopefully :)
@VesuvioX4 i got some masters of mint but my cash still keeps going in the minus, i really like this game, but its just so intimidating to get into cos i just know i will epically fail
Click on the province. It will show you all of its stats, religion, product, population etc. Now click on the name. It will highlight it automatically. Delete it and type in your own.
Dante your wrong but good try your getting the Teutonic knights confused with the knights hospitaler or knights of saint john or knights of malta but that's besides the point the knights hospitaler were te ones who started hospitals and the Teutonic knights were very weak in terms of power they were nooo were near the Templars in terms of size of numbers land owned and gold. The teutanic knights controlled two citys in the holy land and the Templars and hospitalers controlled about 11 each so
And so begins the epic tale of a small group of knights who formed together an order to, at first, to protect Christians on pilgrimages to the holy lands and form hospitals. Whlie small and her orginal purpose beign, would rise to be stronger than any order before, or after her, even the famed Knights Templar, cut down and forced to disband for their vast treasures, would be overshadowed by these brave men in steel, and no one would stop it. Not the French, not the Britians, not the Russians.
@Exposetheworld Yes definitely focus on just one, maybe two. If at some time one is too far in advance to be useful, go ahead and go for government tech or something smaller that will help you advance. However, the one you pick is up to you. It really depends on your country. Message me if you need more help! Good Luck!
@rclcryan Thanks for the reply, another question I would have is what is better for my economy: production which raises tax's I believe? or trade? both seem to be doing the samething in my eyes. Also would you have any advice for me on how to play as Serbia? It took me a few try's to conquer a couple of provinces without being crushed by the Ottomans or the Hungarians. At the moment i'm sandwiched between to the great countries and with every other country allied with a major power what do I do?
@Exposetheworld That depends on your government type, if you have more of a democratically led type you might want to go with trade. If you have more of an autocratic type government then you might want to go into production. If you like military production would be good too. Serbia would be hard. Sadly some countries are just doomed out of existence. The best thing to do is maybe ally with the Golden horde or someone powerful that when/if your enemies attack it can take some pressure off.
@Exposetheworld Also, look whether nearby nations are allied with weaker nations as well as the major powers. Then, look and see if any of those weaker nations are allied with a major power. If they aren't, you can declare war on them, and the country that you actually want to fight will be dragged into the war as well - but without the assistance of their major allies. You can then invade the country that you want and make a White Peace eventually with the other.
You should speedily research Government Tech until your first National Idea, since it will greatly speed up research from them on if you choose wisely.
And I've got a better idea of the map now that I've seen Plock (Polish city) cos' I recognize it from a Mount & Blade Mod, Rus XIII. Gives you a good idea about this area and period of time.
that kinda sucks it might of been ok but the combat whatever ima keep watching cause i got nothing better to do but rise of nations personally was ur best vid and my favorite
I know you said you do not use spies... but if you click on a country you have no casus beli against you can Fabricate Claims with spies and then declare war without the -2 stability drop.
@rasmusx15 Having just tried the demo, i would say you are half wrong, as i've just fabricated a claim against another nation. although it appears you can only do this to 1 state minors now.
@Masher8559 Hmm... Weird :s Must be because its a demo then... I have all the expansion packs to EU3, and they removed that ability in httt - now they need to have a weak heir if I don't remember wrong... But who cares? Its just a game :p
You can recruit advisors in the same tab that you see how much culture you have. Every advisor costs you some culture. Others cost culture and amry tradition, and so ..
The higher your culture is, the best the advisors are when you recruit one. A recruited advisor can be used, this means that you can just have him free for some time. ( At least 1 year until other nations can buy him).
You forgot to mention that all the extra money that you get makes inflation ! Also you gain money when the year ends.
I always recomend that you get a master of mint before minting. ( The master of mint is one advisor, and minting means making the money go to the treasury and not in research).
Overall a nice game.. I would recomend you trying Victoria 1 before Victoria 2 because Victoria is simply more difficult than EU3 and HoI ..
treasury slider is basically like minting more coins, youre basically just like printing more and more dollars like the fed, which increases inflation, which in turn makes all things more expensive. BUT you can use masters of the mint advisors, centralization slider and tax assessors to reduce the combat the inflation and eradicate it, then you can happily keep minting (but all coins you mint, you could be using to better your tech so its not a very good strategy)
The only complaint I have about this game is the pinball effect which is basically armies that dont die and get behind your lines like you saw with the rebels
@crichard8 Jesus fuck that's annoying. Rebels ought to just dissipate, and enemy armies ought to retreat backwards, at least into the nearest territory of their nation/an allies nation.
A tip too tech faster is too have around +0.05 per month, and lock the treasury slider then u put all ur money in one tech group <--- u tech much faster that way...
i would recommend you don't put money in your treasuery slider if you don't have to to break even because the treasury bar is minting which drives up inflation this makes all you technologies and units extremly expensive
This will be so cool to see how colonization will change. America may be partly owned by the Teutonic Order and the United States will never be formed. And the order could ally with napoleon and napoleons invasions would be succesful because they have such a strong ally. If napoleon win then no italy or germany could be formed like they are today.
Have a army of cavalary in the centre of your empire for the event of a revolt they can move quickly and effectively use their shock abillity to put down revolts.
