  • Sexy sexy... watch out now! =)

  • Your results are AMAZING! You look so great! Congratulations, and thank you so so SO much for posting all these videos along your road to recovery. My surgery is this weekend... pretty terrified, but people like you give me hope and little more confidence!

  • Whose Nikka ?lol

  • Hey bro I just had surgery for a broke jaw and I'm glad you made these vids it eases my mind and I feel better.

  • He looks like Went Worth Miller

  • @prodigalpresidium i luv dat nikka

  • @SpawN3H who the hell if spamming you moron? its called sharing, so fuck off

  • I don't expect anyone to read what I just said. to those who are happy, good for you. to those who aren't, sorry. to those who are going to get it done, good luck. I would have not done it if I knew this would be how I'll look like. not to insult little people, but my face has become like that. I feel like I'm compressed in a jar. Best to just be a no name face. I'm not destined to feel happy. I suffered so much as a kid due to this jaw issue that appeared only when I was 7, some things remain..

  • I envy, I envy those who could at least smile and like what they see..its 'corrected' but I look so different, I look harsh even when I don't want to appear that way. I wish the surgeon didn't sharpen my chin so much to go along with my sharp nose. my skin, my skin looks so horrible. I'm so cursed..part of my depression was due to my jaw ..I'm supposed to be happy and no, its not a question of 'its a state of mind'..I never expected to look like this. someday I'll have a bf? yeah fuck it all...

  • I'm not conceited..this condition robbed so much away from me, I just...didn't expect I would be this depressed. I wasn't even this depressed before my surgery...I'm crying as I type this. anyway..at least you look good...you look like that actor in the movie called post-grad. what was I thinking, that I would look better.. I don't..I feel like a monster. I wish I could rip my face off

  • @nothingsafe84 Dude i tried messaging you but nothing came up. I'm sorry to hear about the results of your surgery but i can relate to what you say about your jaw being an issue and all. I'm 21 and still have a prominant jawline exacerbated by a class 3 malocclusion. God i hate it!, it sucks big time. I won't get into a relationship cause i'm so vain about my image. Hey atleast you got a new face, you don't look like a horse LMFAO! Anyways try and see a different side to it, it could be worse.

  • I was looking forward to the process...everyone kept telling me to go ahead with it. supposedly it will improve the quality of my life...what was I thinking, I had my surgery done in january and I'm extremely depressed to the core. It doesn't help that I have other issues in my life that makes me so suicidal. what was I thinking...that I could walk with my head up, feel beautiful for once..all of the money was wasted..there isn't any gentleness, I find it so hard to connect with this face

  • is this zach gilford?

  • I am suppose to get this done August of this year and your video has helped me a lot I used to be scared but now I'm just so excited about getting it done finally

  • Wow you look ridiculously handsome now!!!! Are you a model???

  • hey man can you tell me how long till ALL the swelling went down..

i am four months post op and still feel I look like a puffed monkey haha

but maybe you could tell me when your face was settled and looked the way it does now

  • I'm looking in to getting this done heavily. I am only 17 but my jaw has been bothering me for years now, and I feel it now getting worse by the day. This video is really helpful to me and my parents, so thanks for making it! I was just wondering, you said you couldn't eat solid foods for 6 months, right? What did you eat instead and did you end up losing slot of weight from this? Thanks so much!!

  • @xoallieox07 Thanks Allie, and I was wired shut for 5 weeks then slowly worked back into solid foods over the next several weeks, so it was only about 2-3 months, and I lost about 15-20 pounds over the process, but you put it back on quickly once you get back to eating normally. While I was wired shut I ate a lot of yogurt, applesauce, Ensures, and protein drinks.

  • It varies A LOT from case to case but my personal financial breakdown is here:

    jawsurgeryblog (DOT) com (SLASH) faq

  • how much does it cost u... i mean the total..

  • Sure, if you can send me an email to brandonATfitbuffDOTcom I'll reply with a before/after pic

  • do u have before and after pics brandon pls not vids pics i need to demonstrate to my surgeons what bite im after ideally when i go tomorrow! is it pos u can send pics at all...thanks billie

  • hey... htanks very much for your video. since last year i've been gathering info on jaw surgery since my dentist told me to consider it, i have a slight protruding lower jaw. i can identify with u on the eating thing... its difficult for me to bite into food (eg sandwich, chicken) and my teeth cut off a chunk lol... i have to consult an orthodontist soon. but ur results are amazing. i cnt wait. keep posting.

  • @bellecariibe My pleasure Belle, and best of luck with your process, let me know if you have any questions and keep us updated on the Jaw Surgery Blog Forums...

  • wow dude u look amazing after the surgery!! one of the biggest concerns about the surgery was my voice changing, which urs sounds epic i might add, and after seeing this video i realize it is a long process but it will be worth it at the end. Thanks for this you did a great thing. ur really bad ass!! thanks for everything!!

  • @icecube769 Thanks man, glad it could help, and best of luck to you with everything!

  • After how much time after your surgery you could play sprorts? I had the same surgery as you five monts ago, and i still dont play any kinds of sports. Sorry for my bad english. Greetings from Belgrade

  • @ZLI60 I was back working out again and playing basketball after a few months, but it's best to avoid any major contact sports for at least a year or more while the bones fully heal.

  • I don't know how I ended up on this video but...He's SEXY I especially like the way he talks!! :)

  • @tee85 haha, thank you Tee!

  • This makes me so excited. I had my surgery about 4 months ago and you look so super good in this video!

  • @FlyPaper22 Thanks Fly, and congrats on a successful surgery to you too!

  • you look really great man!

  • @chrissept21 Thanks Chris!

  • Hi Brandon, looks like you've made a great recovery! Just wondering, how old were you when you had the surgery?

  • @SpacePyjamas Thanks Space, I had just recently turned 23 when I had the surgery on October 30, 2007.

  • Hi, Brandon

    Fantastic improvement!

I'm going to have this surgery in the next month and I wasn't quite sure if the final results were going to be evident, but I see you and Wow!,it really worths it.

Unfortunately I've waited too long before deciding to do this procedure on me, but in a way it was better, because I didn't have to wait 1 1/2 with the brackets due to the worn state of my teeth, so in 3 months they made a few adjustments in some molars and now I'm ready for the surgery.

    Thanks a lot!

  • @rael2099 My pleasure, Rael, and best of luck with your surgery!

  • hi Brandon, what a difference jaw surgery makes, you looked ugly before, now you look hot!!! also, the short hair adds to your hotness! your teeth look a million times better, your speech and the way you talk has much improved also. I read your blog. it's great. I'm having surgery early November. Im really scared because of all the complications they told me. I was thinking of doing a blog too, but it's too much upkeep.

  • @nikkilp07 Thanks Nikki! Good luck with your surgery, and keeping a blog can be a great way to look back on it, even for yourself, and these days it's really easy to set up with not much upkeep.

If you need any help, just send me an email through the "Contact Me" page on JawSurgeryBlog

  • Im freaking out before my wifes surgery! Really worried for her and listening to you be so positive really helped. Thanks for the video. I'll email it to her too!

  • @justinr77 Glad I could help Justin, and tell her to join us on the forums too for more support from lots of other successul patients:

    jawsurgeryblog (DOT) com (SLASH) forums

Good luck to both of you!

  • my teeth only touch in 2 places now...my open bite isn't nearly as bad but i'm known to have to take big bites & swallow my food almost whole simply because i can't chew! yee i'm soo excited to eat after my surgery. a blender in my mouth?? ahh maybe i'll start enjoying food ;) just posted my first blog before surgery. your videos inspired me, thanks.

  • @mserinprice I can definitely relate, and I think you'll be very surprised and excited about what eating feels like after surgery.

Good luck with everything, and let me know how it goes...

  • Dude that's amazing!

  • @3000fx Thanks!

  • @in0wh3r3ul1v3 thanks!

  • did you have muffled ears or pressure in your ears?

  • @jotaco123 Yes, I had pressure in my ears and head from the swelling for the first few weeks, but the worst part was over after the first week.

  • Do you have to wear a retainer now?

  • @jeannie52988 Yes, I wear a removable top and bottom retainer every night, but only right before going to sleep, and I take it out when I wake up, so it doesn't really interfere with anything.

  • @JawSurgeryBlogDotCom ok, cool. i'm getting the standard retainer after i get mine off. i think im gonna have to wear then all day except for eating.

  • you r cute!

  • @Shirleya83 Thanks Shirleya!

  • what can you do to deal with the sinus damage? and also, what exactly happens TO damage the sinuses?

  • @rejectedbythedevil14 I'm not sure exactly what you mean, do you already have sinus damage?

  • @JawSurgeryBlogDotCom i mean, you said you have sinus damage. what do you do to deal with it? and also, what did the surgery do to make your sinuses damaged?

  • @rejectedbythedevil14 Oh, no I don't have any sinus damage, I just had common allergies unrelated to the jaw surgery. In fact, many patients actually notice an improvement in their sinuses after the surgery.

  • wow u look 'amazing' what a fantastic outcome. you must be your surgeon's star patient re his portfolio!!!!! You've gone from average to o-m-g!!! haha Congratulations!!! And I just signed up to your website. The specialized forum is a clever idea and it's commendable of you to help others. Good Luck with everything and the music. Billie.

  • @ThePerishingImage Thanks so much, Billie, and I'll see you on the forums!

  • The real bulk of it went away after about 6 months, but the last few spots took a little over a year to return.

Some people get it back much faster though, so it just depends on your body and your healing.

  • how long does it take ur numbness to go away?

  • oh man i kno exactly what your talkin bout i had da same surgery its awsome!!!

  • @lethalglu Awesome, congrats on a successful surgery!

  • Yah you should, I'm glad that know you have the ability to chew stuff much more effectively. your surgery was a wise decision.

  • aha I watch these videos for you cause your so cute! you deff. grew up as your videos progressed : )

  • @Tanamontana100 haha, thanks Tana, I need to do another one here soon, because it's been about a year since the last update.

  • So, i'll first say that your smile looks amazing!

I wish i would have seen these videos before my surgery, maybe i wouldnt have cried as much ;)

Its been about two months (i had upper and lower as well) and thanks to you...i know alot more on what to expect for the next while.

    Thanks again!

  • @MariahLynne92 Thanks! Congrats on successful surgery, and we'd love to have you share your story or ask questions on the Jaw Surgery forums, so hope to see you there...

  • Thank you very much! XDXD

  • hmm... i would like to ask that, how much did it cost you to do this surgery?

  • @unkowndead Full details of cost are here:

    jawsurgeryblog (DOT) com (SLASH) faq

  • After jaw surgery if you hit your jaw hard will it hurt really bad or misplace something? Like if you got into a fight or got pimpslapped or something will it cause problems?

  • @BossTub3 I've wondered the same thing, and I'm assuming it would be on par with before, possibly slightly weaker.

It's definitely something to ask your surgeon if there are several pimps in your area, haha,

  • Hey your teeth look amazing I got Jaw sugery in 2 days just lower Jaw and I really want it over and done with

  • @Salsadanable thanks Salsa, hope your surgery goes great, should be today right?

  • Hey how much did the surgery cost?

  • @puresnowy907 for a detailed breakdown of how much I paid, see here:

    JawSurgeryBlog (DOT) com (SLASH) faq

  • Hey, I'm having upper and lower jaw surgery within the next two months... I've been in braces for idk maybe 6 years now and I'm ready for them to go! I'm kind of worried about it, I went into my second evaluation yesterday, and my doctor said that I may have nose bleeds. did you have them? and what did you go through right after? Also, how much did your face change?

    Thanks,

    Hannah

  • @lilmizfoxy1887 I didn't have nosebleeds, but I did have dried blood in there for a couple of days from the surgery. Those first two nights are uncomfortable because of the pressure and swelling, but I was lucky to not have any pain, and it's over before you know it.

As for how my face changed, you can view my very first video I posted on here of how I looked right before surgery, all the way up to after being fully healed.

    Good luck!

  • Thanks Holly!

Good luck with your surgery, and if you have any questions along the way, just let me know...

  • I should probably add how helpful this was too, i'm glad i can see how everything worked out for you!

I've had my braces for um....8 months now? And i see my orthodontist about once every 6 weeks. I'm excited!

  • eeep, i'm having something like this done.

    You're hawt! ;]

  • thanks so much for the video. it's been 11 weeks since my surgery. I am so pleased with the results. I'm gradually beginning to eat solid foods. I had an open bite and I can already tell the difference when I chew. I would definitely do it again as well.

  • my pleasure, and congrats on a successful surgery! you should come join us on the official jaw surgery forums to share your experience or read others:

  • hello i had unndnerbite correction jaw surgery about a year ago and im experiance some difficulties when i sleep. I dream about my jaw clenching and like its stuck for me to open in my dream. When i wake up i notice tenderness but nothing too bad. im alil afraid i dont want to go thru it again...Have you ever experianced this?

  • I haven't experienced that Dimplez, but it's definitely something to talk to your orthodontist or orthognathic surgeon about.

If the problem only occurs at night, it may be as simple as wearing some type of mouthpiece, but they'll be able to tell you if there is already enough damage to warrant something more.

  • You look SO amazing! You seem so nice and upbeat too:-) I have to admit that I am not always very happy about my upcoming procedure (the pain, the fact that I'm wearing braces as a senior in college, etc. etc.), but you are definitely an inspiration.

  • So glad I could help Jasmine!

  • don't worry @JJinx...you aren't the only one. I'm a senior in college and I had my surgery 11 weeks ago. I'm still wearing my braces. It was a huge adjustment coming back to school after the surgery and having everyone ask questions (you look different. wht hpnd?)...lol...but with the love and support of family and friends, you'll do well. no need to worry. I wish you the best. These videos helped alot as well. :)

  • will this kind of surgery fail? i am worried about it, because i also wanted to have a jaw sugery.

(i got the same problem as yours)

how many percent of the chance can it be successful?

  • @unkowndead I just had it done and i am extremely satisfied with the result i believe almost 95-97% of the patients that have this surgery are satisfied with the results its the highest out of any cosmetic based surgery along with liposuction I think. Even though many people have this surgery done out of functional issues. Although it does take sometime to adjust to the new face and have the swelling come down. I think around week 3 I knew that I was very happy with the results

  • @unkowndead

JB said it perfectly, and I totally agree.

As with all surgeries, there is always a chance of complication and/or risk, but it's a relatively small one that you should discuss with your potential surgeon.

  • did your bite get worse when they put the braces on for a year before the surgery?? cause im gonna start the process in about a month and im a little freaked out

  • Yes, because the braces align your teeth for your NEW bite, not your current one, but the change is so gradual, that it's not a huge adjustment.

  • hmm okay thanks a lot :D

  • i have 2 questions that i havent seen anyone ask u so far. 1st is about the tounge, do u ever find urself biting it now after surgery since it was so used to sticking out a lil further in previous years? my 2nd question is, with this condition my lower jaw tends to hang open without my knowledge sometimes, after this surgery, will my mouth stay shut naturally? i worded those questions the best i could lol. thanx man

  • No problems at all with the tongue, since it moves back with the rest of the jaw, it still feels exactly the same.

If it doesn't stay completely shut naturally, it should be closer than it is now. Mine used to do the same thing, but doesn't since the surgery aligned my jaws.

  • ive had braces since 7th grade, and now im in 11th....i didnt start noticing my underbite tilllll 9th grade, my friends sayyy youuu cant even telll, and im gonna have to make a video about it like you did,. buut yeahh,,, im soo self concious and i dont talk or like reading out loud, did it give you a lisp in a way, not all the time but for some things you say? cuz it does for me, but again my friends say you can't tell, but of course i can tell, cuz im mee lol. and obsess about how bad it looks.

  • hi Jesse, yes, it did give me a slight lisp on certain things I said, but most people didn't notice mine either. The biggest change for me was how much easier it made chewing and eating.

If you have any other questions, just let me know.

  • Thanks! I was extra cautious after a surgery like this, so I waited over 2 months to begin exercising again.

For me, I started off very slowly with light bodyweight exercises for a couple of weeks, then slowly progressed to heavier and heavier weights.

In terms of running, I would have started out with a slow walk, then gradually increased the pace over the next few weeks.

  • I have my braces on since november 3, after align my teeth, i am going to have this surgery. I hope i will get a nice result as you had, and finally have a balanced face and thereby have a good self-esteem and live without limits. I'm glad its over for you because its only the beginning for me :P but i'm ready.

  • Thank you, Jeepee, and best of luck to you!

  • awesome, you dont seem the same person, congratulations!

  • Thanks Dawn!

  • i was meant to get this when i was 17. im 26 now. havent seen a dentist in years. im wondering if its too late.

i cant stand pain and probably wont be able to afford it.

    i

  • I'm pretty sure it isn't too late, as I've talked to several people that are much older who have gone through or are going through the surgery.

You should at least go for a free consultation with your local surgeon to get a general idea of where you stand.

    Good luck!

  • so random: I just love watching your videos! It's so helpful to watch someone documenting the process of the braces/surgery. And you have so many that I have a great idea of how long it takes for swelling to go down, and eating. I agree with you, people take eating normally for granted! Just thought I'd send some Kudos your way :)

    much love,

    Braceness <--- my channel name

  • Thanks Braceness! You're videos are great too and very entertaining, haha.

    Good luck with your surgery!

  • You look good man. I am 7 weeks post op and really happy with the results.

  • Thanks AJ, and congrats on a successful surgery!

  • looking good m8. cheers for you:P if only i was luckier then you=)

  • This is amazing! Man, looking at this video and a few others from people has FINALLY gotten my family to support me in my decision to get this done. I just turned 23 and I've been wishing to get this surgery for 6 years. Thank you for sharing your story!! -Tyson

  • Awesome, so glad to hear Tyson! Good luck with the entire process, and just let me know if you have any questions along the way.

  • omg!

    you have changed soooo much!

    I couldnt recognise you :D

im going to have my operation too, but im now close to 18 y. old male so i dunno if i have to wait a little bit, coz of the growing process.

  • Thanks so much Kuxie!

I hope your surgery is successful too and that you can get started soon. I'm sure your surgeon will know best when your body is ready for the operation.

    Good luck!

  • Hey brother. My girlfriend had the surgery a few months ago. She is getting feeling back in her chin area, but it is still a bit sensitive to touch. Just wanted to say how great your surgery turned out! I am excited for her, and excited for you...have confidence and good luck!!

  • Thanks man, and congrats/good luck to your girlfriend too!

  • I was 23 when I got the surgery, and it took me several months to regain complete feeling, but it only takes several weeks for most people.

    Good luck with everything!

  • Hi!

I'm getting jaw surgery on the 30th of November and I was just wondering how old were you when you got yours done and how long does it take for the numb and tingly feeling to go away?

    Thankyou :)

  • Hey Mary,

Thanks and good luck with your surgery too!

If you have any questions at all, just let me know.

  • hey,

I'm getting my lower jaw moved forward in about 2 weeks,

my parents are really concerned about the pain I'm going to go through. When i saw your face swell up i was like 'whoaa'

    but

The jaw surgery really made a difference and you look great ;)

I cant wait to see how it will turn out for me.

  • everyone is different, stacy, but I didn't experience an ounce of actual pain throughout the entire process.

plenty of pressure and discomfort like you said, but never pain in the sense that I would normally think of it.

  • how badly does it hurt? Im not worried about headaches or pressure pain...i get those on a daily bases....im worried about the cuts they make inside the mouth...i hate that kind of pain....do you feel that afterwards?

  • im a singer....well im trying to be...i have a really great voice but my jaw keeps me from actullay sounding as good as i could potentially...im due for surgery in april....will it make a difference?

  • I can't say for sure, but unless you have a very severe case, I can't imagine it would make a huge difference.

You never know though, and I hope it works out for you.

  • Hi I'm a boxer, I'm considering having this surgery done.

Just wondering, will this surgery affect my jaw strength and put me at risk of complications?

Also, do you have to have those metal screws for life? or do they bio-degrade?

  • I've gotten a similar question before, but I'm not sure to be honest.

Part of me thinks it may be stronger because they are titanium plates and screws, but then again, it could be easier to separate from the bone, so definitely something to ask the surgeon directly.

My screws definitely stay in, although my stitches dissolved on their own and disappeared.

If you find out about the boxing question, please come back and let me know, so I'll know if anyone else asks.

  • how long did you spend with your braces before u got your surgery?

  • I had braces for a little over a year before surgery, and a little over a year after surgery, so about two and a half years all together.

  • omg you're so cute

  • haha, thanks Dalena!

  • Hey El,

I think you're thinking of Zip-N-Squeeze. Just type that into Google and it should come right up.

  • hey whats the name of that squeeze tube thing you use to drink? i cant think of the name

  • nice! how long was it before you could start working out again after surgery?

  • I took it very slow after surgery just to ensure that my body could use all its resources to heal my jaw. After about two months, I slowly started doing bodyweight exercises and light workouts, then slowly worked my way back to full strength over the next 1-2 months.

But thanks to muscle memory, as soon as you feel good enough to get back to full workouts, your body will bounce back surprisingly fast to right where you left off.

  • Well i just started all that process im 15 and my dentist told that i'll have the braces by 1 year before the surgery and then another one. i hope and i know that everythings gonna be fine :D... i can't wait to have that surgery ^^ saludos desde mexico :D

  • hola! yes, that sounds just about like mine, i had braces for a little over a year before surgery, then a little over a year after surgery, so about 2 and a half years all together. I'm sure everything will be fine too and good luck!

keep me updated on how it goes, and if you have any questions along the way, just let me know.

  • Nice ! A jaw surgery must be painfull but when I see the result I see that it really worth it ! You have now really straight and white teeth. I have had braces too but no surgery. Good job !

  • Thanks, Mameloic!

It really wasn't painful at all, definitely uncomfortable and inconvenient for a little while, but I was lucky enough to not experience any actual pain throughout the entire process.

  • Wow, you've really come a long way.

To anyone who didn't know you before the surgery, and hasn't seen these videos or read the blog, they'd never guess you had surgery or anything other than braces to straighten your teeth.

  • Thanks, mydnyt, and yes, I'm still getting use to people saying, "nice teeth," feels good!

  • Just joined utube to post a comment -

Underwent top/bottom jaw surgery a month ago myself. Unfortunately my lower jaw shifted and 10 days later I was operated on again to correct this. All is back on track now thankfully.

Your transformation is quite incredible and encouraging to see for little chipmunk me in the early stages of healing!

You look fantastic for getting it done and thanks for posting your journey. I sure ain't got the balls (quite literally).

    'grats! :)

  • Thanks MWG!

Congrats on a successful surgery, even if it took two tries. At least it's over now, and good luck with the rest of recovery!

  • Hey i was wondering how long you wore your braces before your surgery? thanks so much!

  • I had the braces for a little over a year before surgery, then a little over a year after surgery, so about 2 and a half years of braces for the whole process, but the length will vary wildly depending on each specific case.

  • just watched this again....i like your videos because you are comfortable infront of camera and you talk directly, and honestly..i like your calm, matter of fact(but also, knowledgeable) approach to your experience, i've looked at lots of videos, for some sort of support i guess..and yours i like a lot.

  • Thanks Amber, I'm glad I can help! If you have any other questions in the meantime, just let me know, and best of luck with your surgery!

  • i like you, and i like this video. i'm in Cornwall,UK and having the same surgery as you probably late winter.. i'm feeling okay about it. you look great..thank you for the videos, they've been the most useful so far.Amber x

  • Hey Raphael,

I didn't have any pain at all throughout the entire process. There was definitely discomfort and pressure, but no actual pain. Not everyone is that lucky, but I have heard at least a few other people say the same thing here:

    jawsurgeryblog (dot) com (slash) forums

My numbness took about a full year to fully dissipate, but it's all gone now. Some people get feeling back much quicker though.

If you have any other questions, just let me know.

  • hey, do you have any numbness left?? or pain??

  • Unbelievable!

  • Thanks Newbie!

  • Congrats on a successful surgery Jas, and thanks!

  • I made the same operation the last summer... Now i'm quite happy but... wow! You must have to be really satisfied because now you're really beautiful!

  • Wow these videos are amazing. I love your voice now. :) Congrats, you look amazing now. I'd tap it. ;D

  • haha, thanks chayse

  • Thanks for sharing your experiences. My 16 year old daughter just had the surgery Wednesday and is on day #5 today post-op. (She is actually my second daughter to go through this.....my poor kids got some bad genes, I guess. lol) I am amazed at how quickly the healing process goes. Her swelling looks amazingly better already, although she is experiencing stomach upset and mouth sores from her medications. Thanks again for sharing this. It reminds me that the end results are amazing.

  • No problem, and good luck to your daughter with the rest of her speedy recovery!

hopefully the jaw surgery genes stop with them :)

  • you look great! Thank you for all your videos I just had my surgery a week ago and I can't wait till I'm done like you

  • Thanks Kate, good luck with the rest of recovery!

  • Thanks Cristi!

Good luck with yours, and let me know if you ever need anything.

  • You look so handsome and I just love how you do everything you're supposed to...it has really been an inspiration to start wearing my bands and headgear. Great vlogs, thanks. <3

  • I so envy you man! You just did great! Congrationations.

I am going for the surgery on 24th of May 2009. Just worried shit about the breathing part. I am a mouth breather and not knowing how they will help me breath from my mouth while operating on it!

    Thanks for the great videos!

  • Thanks Crazi!

Don't worry, your body has a way of adapting when it needs too. It will be a little uncomfortable at first, but you'll get used to it pretty quickly.

Good luck in a couple of days, and let me know how it goes!

  • im getting the same surgery like you in 2 1/2 weeks im so nervous

  • Don't worry, I was terrified, but I'm sure everything will be fine for you too. Let me know how it goes, and good luck!

  • You have a COLGATE smile dude. Looking nice. I'm glad everything went well. Again, with the jaw surgery and braces all together, how long did you have braces for?

  • Thanks, I'm still a little surprised when people tell me I have a nice smile or nice teeth, since that was the LAST thing anyone would compliment before, haha.

I had the braces for a little over a year leading up to the surgery, then a little over a year after surgery, so I had them for about 2 and a half years all together.

Depending on the current position of your teeth, people can range any where from 1 year to several years, but your orthodontist can give you a very rough estimate.

  • I learned a long time ago that us guys have it much easier in the looks department, but I have yet to hear, "He's so great, but I just wish his jaw was a little more crooked," so it certainly hasn't hurt :)
