I'm sure it's been said somewhere in the previous 4000 comments, but blame is clear here. The engine (one with the hose) is at fault. It's a common misconception, but fire apparatus DO NOT have the right of way at a red light; operators must use due regard. That means: stop at all traffic control devices until you are certain it is safe to proceed. The engine had a red light and didn't stop, as a result, the truck hit it. Job one is getting to the fire safely.

For the reason of if a fire hydrant is running dry or isn't putting out enough water. The trucks also have water for very rural areas where they might not have fire hydrants. It happens around where i live a lot where they have to run tankers back and forward to a lake

If a fire truck can strike another fire truck what prevents them from smashing you? I look both ways near and far for speeding vehicles that are not stopping or obeying the signals. A car vs a fire truck there is no way any standard car can stand up to those odds I like to listen to music but I can hear outside with a cracked window. They really should have mirrors on those intersections that don't allow you to servey the other traffic. Both trucks are flashing red lights no contrast !
