I was just thinking I'd like to see a video of the four people at each arrow pressing at their turn. I can't imagine even starting to try that on my pad. Can legs really move that fast and that coordinated?
Unfortunately, that is the song at it's un-altered pwnageness. It kicks expert's "Delta Max" rear end several times over (which the game only THINKS is the hardest step chart).
By the way, if you want to see real INSANITY then:
You're right. "Most" of the time. But DDR X failed miserably to grab my attention. The old returning songs from long ago were nice, but the others just didn't do it for me. DDR Universe 3 actually has a better song list than X.
Actually, aftershock!!'s display BPM is correct. If you look, it DOES quad BPM before the stop, during the freeze. But the 0 BPM, they just put that there because of the stop.
Either it does actually go to 888 BPM at the last not or second last, or Konami just put the 888 BPM on the display BPM screen just to make people nervous, because that's the name of the song, and because it's either the hardest song on DDR, or one of the hardest (The Oni chart I mean).
If you look at the chart, the beginning of the song runs at a manageable speed. It's only after the slowdown where it goes to 222 BPM and pushes the limit up another 4 BPM. All of the sixteenths are easily manageable if you can handle the speed. PR Oni is easily harder than this.
Song-wise, it's up to you. I prefer PR to 888's breakcore though.
As for fun... well this chart wins that round. Easily more fun that PR Oni. >_>
How are you comparing the difficulty of this chart to Vertex ^2. VVV is harder for starters, and this song blows both out of the water in terms of how hard it is.
You can't even compare them anyway. V^2 and VVV are hard for different reasons. This chart is mostly 16th note triples and a few drills. Sure, there are a few harder patterns, but nothing like ULRUDLRDU or anything, It's just drills. I'd call this an easy 13 on ITG.

For those who would like to know, the video is played with a 1.5x speed mod, giving the 888 BPM part a 1,332 scroll rate. Fun.
gemubaka 3 years ago
888 does not actually hit 888BPM though.
MarsPhoenix63 3 years ago
lol yeah it does there's a reason its called 888 towards the end of the song it picks up insansely to 888 beats per min.
dusterdei 3 years ago
That's funny, I talked to the guy who CHARTED this song and he says it's 111-444 and they just changed the display BPM.
Just like aftershock!!'s display BPM isn't accurate, because it quad speeds.
MarsPhoenix63 3 years ago
Actually, aftershock!!'s display BPM is correct. If you look, it DOES quad BPM before the stop, during the freeze. But the 0 BPM, they just put that there because of the stop.
kynayo 3 years ago
Thanks for proving my point. It's not accurate because of the very thing you said. "it DOES quad BPM".
888 is most defintely 111-444.
MarsPhoenix63 3 years ago

FELMDemon 3 years ago
Ugh. That was supposed to be a reply to geekwhoeatsrice. Oh well.
FELMDemon 3 years ago
actually , it pushed the speed limit up 88 bpm.
1/8th at 400 = 800 bpm
1/16ths at 222 = 888 bpm. QUITE A difference if I do say so myself.
Sure it's more FUN then PRO , but its harder , I'd rate it a 19 becauseit certainly is no Vertex^2 or Chromatic Blitz.
geekwhoeatsrice 3 years ago
How are you comparing the difficulty of this chart to Vertex ^2. VVV is harder for starters, and this song blows both out of the water in terms of how hard it is.

yeah because this is as easy as Summer Speedy Mix. this isn't stepmania bro.

HOLY CRAP! Was that on 1x? The arrows at the end looked like they were barely moving.
Pluto the First is a definite 19 with streams at 440 BPM and some other random tricky stuff. This is way harder than that.
Catastrophe573 3 years ago
He did this on 1.5x.
