@7obeQatar That sounds incredible. I never have buttermilk on hand, so I made the old standby with white vinegar and milk. I know real buttermilk would bump this pie up a step and give it a creamier, richer texture.
@7obeQatar oh my goodness that must have been pure bliss! i have to make a subsitute most times, i don't even have access to supermarket buttermilk very often. your fresh buttermilk sounds sooo good and probably enhanced the taste and quality and texture of the pie a hundred fold! mmm...! my dad likes to drink it straight from a glass, he grew up in holland drinking fresh buttermilk...he would probably die of delight if he tasted your grandmas! :)
another great looking winner! i dont eat many sweets but what i do eat must be homemade, lol.i hate when people say "i baked a cake" and i taste it and its box cake.
Oh wow! Thanks Jen you are a legend. I'm glad that you found it easy. I am attempting it tonight! I'll let you know how mine turns out. Thanks so much hun. You rock!
Fitange, thanks for pointing me towards that pie recipe. It was easy to make and is absolutely delicious! The press-down crust was a refreshing break from the usual roll-out kind and it tastes really good, I will be using it for some of my pies from now on.
Oh! Lady! Those pie close-ups are making my mouth water...I also like the "fast motion" and pie making music you've got here.
