Makes me wish I had lived during the 60's to have enjoyed these two first-hand. A true testament to their talent in that they still sound magnificent in voice and acoustic guitar after over 40 years! For those interested in a similar sound from a current artist, check out "Someone Else's Life" by Joshua Radin. God bless.
I feel so lucky to have been born when i was. To have been able to enjoy the greatest music by the greatest artists like Chad & Jeremy. I hope that younger artists will emulate these greats so that the music will live on.
Thank you so much for this video. I fell in love with Jeremy 40 years ago, and marriage, 5 kids, divorce and 6 grand kids later I still am. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Thank you so very much for this. I fell in love with Jeremy 40 years ago. Marriage, 5 kids, divorce and 6 grand kids later I still am. Wonderful trip down memory lane. Thanks again
What a perfet rendition of a perfect song. Too bad Ty's homework consisted of googling them. Would have like a little more in-depth into them & their music.
Wow... I'm surprised I haven't seen this before now?! Even tho it's 8 months ago.... I gotta agree completely with ConeOfUncertainty . Perfect job on this song. Dang!!!! They sounded great. I just love acoustic. Brings out the REAL talent and passion of songwriters/singer. Yup.... great video.
I saw Chad & Jeremy up in NY at some small club. I traveled all the way from Oklahoma to see them...wow I wasn't disappointed. I got to meet them after the show...complete gentlemen...they didn't believe me I traveled from Oklahoma until they saw the envelope mailed to me with the tickets from the club. Chad was impressed. He signed 3 things for me...love their tunes...
Really nice performance of "A Summer Song" at the end of this interview. Wonderful guitar work and vocals without the strings and reverb that didn't help the original single, IMO. Great to see and hear them again.
Nice interview. And these guys are right about artists getting screwed up by record companies. Of course, I am talking about creative people when refering to artists, not those prefabricated and disposable "products" that we now see and hear over the airwawes or other means.
Always confused them with Peter and Gordon. One of the all time best summer songs. "They say that all good things must end someday...autumn leaves must fall." Reminds me how quickly our life flies away.
@saunders49 I am glad I wasn't the only one who confused Chad & Jeremy with Peter & Gordon. It would be hilarious if there was a duo called Ron & Jeremy.
The performance of the song is easily in the high 4 star range. I haven't figured out this YouTube thing just yet, but if 5.00 is the highest score, this performance is 4.9 something.
Chad's son, James Patrick Stuart, has a recurring role on The Closer as DDA Martin Garnett. He was in the 9/3/07 episode and will be in the 9/10 episode.
C & J's longevity is due to their many passions taking them to two different continents. Contary to The Everly Brothers, who despised each other over time; The brothers stated if you had to spend your every waking hours cheek to cheek with your brother with such different interests , you begin to despise the work and your brother, and end up in disaster. Fortunately,C & J 's separate passions kept their friendship and collaberative timeless work alive .
These Guys sound as good as they did back in the day...Cheers!!!

A big part of the success of A Summer Song besides the lyrics and melody is their voice and how great their voices sound when blended.
