  • @prod0016 "Adolf Wagner angered Adolf Hitler in 1941 when he insisted on removing crucifixes from Bavarian classrooms, which outraged the Roman Catholic Church and the general public."

The Nazi's didn't even remove crucifixes from schools much less bibles.

  • @prod0016 Hitler's Secret Conversations AKA Hitler's Table Talk isn't reliable at all, any historian will say it is a questionable source at best. Especially the anti-Christian quotes in it since they are only in Bormann's part of the notes and not Picker.

  • now humans can make love a bit diferent since our minds and therefore our ideas can be constructed differently, but basically it's an emotion needed for survival. sorry, but it's the truth. i can train your body to react to stimulus just like any other animal. i can have you salivating when i ring a bell for dinner. i can trick your mind and body. and trust me, it doesn't have anything to do with your fake concept of satan.

  • you don't understand life yet kid, love is a chemical reaction. love is triggered in us and all animals throught certain images. and yes, we are animals as much as you want to deny it. anyway love is a chemical reaction caused by an animal seeing a certain shape which is oval. this is why most animal babies have an oval shaped face. the emotion is so animals will take care of other animal's babies. watch a video on elephants and the love chemical sometime.

  • smart kid :D

  • I think spiritual beliefs such as heart soul and other fictional psychology such as chi, chakra, were just possibly a pseudo science.

  • Open your eyes kid. It's bad enough that you go around blindly, banging your head against the wall.

Just to take one of the points; when a christian of your calliber answers the questin "Why?", he says "God did it".

When a real Christian, or anyone with a sound mind, at that, gets the same question, he answers with a series of thoughts based on a logic that is the result of evolution through billions of years.

  • Listen to gnosticatheist. he will help you.

  • I'm sorry kid, but it seems that you have already made your assumptions. And in doing so will not change your mind, nor consider what anyone says. And that is my assumption!

  • You called hitler the devil yet he was a christian. good job cunt.

  • BIG "IF" If Hitler was a Christian who was he to play God and kill people.

  • Please understand that just because you don't understand something makes it wrong. Also, I see no evidence that emotions come from your heart. Also, no evidence for a soul. All you seem to be doing is denying that emotions are chemical reactions and/or from your brain. If you think emotions come from your "soul" you would first have to prove that exists. Then if you think some came from your heart you would also have to prove that.

  • Simply, you seem to just not accept what science shows us because of your dogmatic beliefs.

  • Christ is as real as you and me.

  • "Please understand that just because you don't understand something makes it wrong."

I sugest you do the same, Mike. Many people believe we cannot understand everything by human logic. There are supernatural concepts out there that humans will never be able to grasp.

  • Whoa...you think evolution proves that there is no god? You think that the big bang is part of evolution? What?

  • It is easy to explain, if you watch my educational videos on the subject. This is my field of study; the brain is formed to function as a perceptive device to safeguard the gene-carrier; you. In order to do so, the systems that survived evolution are those that keeps you alive, and cooperative with other humans in your surrounding.

  • part 2; Therefore love, to reproduce, fear to flee, and rationality to understand dangers. It is clear that these functions are to some degree in all primates; not just humans.

  • -Hitler loved to paint landscapes, he appreciated beauty and God's handywork.

  • I have the answer if you are willing to listen to it.

  • hey bud your calling another christian the devil there.

  • Another thing I heard was that the soul of man is so big that only God can fill it up. Peace out.

  • Smart kid

  • ur heart is not there u dweeb its below that and in the center, thats your nipple

  • You can still believe in evolution and believe in God and be a Christian. The two do not have to be mutually exclusive. It's very easy to see that God caused the big bang to form into the organized universe and caused humans to evolve into a unique species with thoughts and high level emotions. Creationism just believes that God did it all at once a few thousand years ago, and that all the scientific evidence of the age of the universe and the earth is wrong.

  • I'll respond soon, Josh.

  • Emotions are part of our energy system. We take in energy from our surroundings, what people say and do, what we see, hear or sense, in other words life experience. We handle it, process it and let go. Our energy system is absolutely designed to process and handle anything naturally occurring energies that life throws at us and it is designed to extract nourishment from those energies of life.

  • Hitler cared what he did, and he didn't just "dream up" killing jews, homosexuals, gypsies, etc. He formulated a meaning for his actions from many books and theories.

  • Ive noticed some people trying to define what atheists believe. The whole point is that they DONT believe. There is no guidebook [AKA Bible etc] for atheism. Do you realise how rediculous that sounds?

    It would defeat the point.

  • re: Ladel87 hmmm...they believe in "no God"...that is their stance in "faith"...

re: blackturtleus...Cool...will have to get my hands on that book.

  • Ladel87, you miss something here. Atheists must surely have one belief - that belief is that there is no god.

If atheists do *not* have that belief, please explain why not?

  • What Im trying to say is that there is no set guideline for atheists. People keep trying to put all atheists in the same box, trying to figure out what their stance is on different beliefs.

I clearly didnt mean atheists dont have ANY beliefs, that is impossible.

  • Read "How The Mind Works" by Steven Pinker (MIT Professor). It might be a tough read for a "15" year old, but he discusses all aspects of brain function and ties it all to natural selection and evolution in a rather lucid manner.

  • I would sugguest reading more than just one man's concept in regards to delibrating a theory. I beleive man knows no trueth or falshood. If we choose to follow 1 and not Zero we will be infinite.

  • I agree in principle, however, Pinker gives a strong presentation in a dispassionate manner. The fact that he's a linguistics professor at MIT suggests that he's not just another person with an agenda speaking off the top of the head. Good information pertinent to this young man's questions is hard to find. Very few authors rise to the level of Pinker.

  • I've heard it said that the soul is the part of us that feels things. i.e.emotions etc. Awesome points Josh!

  • Re:Th3C0br4

Well, there are ways for atheist to avoid linking the soul. They mostly say that their "minds" are the results of chemical interactions. (They don't believe in free-will.) While they usually argue that the feelings of consciences are also the result of chemical interactions.

but yeah, if they accept the existence of souls then they can also argue that their souls just exist...forever......

Sorry, if I sound overly critical but these are definitely INTERESTING stuff.

  • Re: RitchM

Well, I guess our definition of conscience may depend on if we (humans) are capable of understanding other animals' languages. For instance, dolphins are famous for saving and protecting humans during/preventing shark attacks. These behaviours seem pretty altruist (existence of conscience/mind in animals?) to me, but these things are still very widely debated whether the acts are altruistic or instinctual.

    Re:kajukenbobelt

    Dolphins are smart. :D

  • Good Point. But arent emmotions from chemical reactions of the brain like when we see or do something a certain checmical is released inside us?

but I do belive our consience has a lot to do with Jesus Christ...a mormon once told me that pain is our bodies consience(as the holy spirit) way of telling us that we are doing harm to ourselves.

  • Nothing to do with chemicals..

  • Second thing. I may just be showing my ignorance of athiest theory (doctrine?) here, but if someone is an atheist - i.e. believes it's impossible for god to exist - then they must surely also reject the idea of a "soul" and similar supernatural concepts?

Are there any atheists who believe in souls?

  • Not really, if they DID believe in souls, then they'd show the existence of God..

  • Yes, there are atheists that believe in souls, flying dragons, and talking sheep.

  • I tottally agree If there was evoluition dont you think the animals would be getting smater like fish wouldnt got and swim up and bite on a hook and yeah our feelings are a big clue its not like there just there its something else when your heart stops beating it just doesnt go away so yeah i think youve got a really good point

  • OK, first thing. What other functions do you believe the heart serves, Josh, other than pumping blood around the body?

Sorry if you didn't mean your comments about the heart literally, but I want to be sure.

  • lol, no not lyterally, figuratively.

  • Good points. Humans are the only animals that have a conscience. Even evil people have a conscience about SOMETHING. Lower animals operate on instinct or cause and effect.
