Also, I think a failing missile should tend to go down, according to gravity laws, not perfectly perpendicular to the ground in its trajectory. And the dissaparition is curious too. That's doesn't look like an explosion or a running out of fuel.
You can also see the diameter of the concentric rings slowly grow smaller as the fuel finally sputters out and the object moves farther away from the viewer.
Have you people never grown up playing with fireworks? They can be used as a sample for the larger population of how missiles react with thrust, air currents and faulty design, especially in this video. I've have seen plenty of bottle rockets and bigger kinds of fireworks spin concentrically in this type of fashion. The fact that the vapor trail is coming from earth in the horizon should be enough to give it away.

@AcomsRazor1776 Yes it may be that actually, it's just a shame the videos on the event aren't clearer and that people have started making fake/modified footage of the event. After further research I am undecided if it's a missile or not, if it is then it's likely a type I haven't seen footage of before as it doesn't match with other failed missiles that have spiraled out of control (bar a few similarities). Anyway, I guess I'll just have to do further research if I want to find out.

@o0Condrag0o It's not a spiral of light. Light is photons, and this is a bunch of spent fuel dust and gasses that glow probably because they're lit by the Sun. Remember, this is almost outside the atmosphere where the Sun that has set earlier can still illuminate them.
Second, the particles are going outwards all the time and when they stop exiting, a hole appears. It's pretty much self-explanatory.
It's not way bigger. It's of normal proportions for fuel that spits around in upper atmosphere.

@KymeraGR7 I was thinking it was freaky too, but being a skeptic, I looked into it: youtube "Norway Cloud Spiral - Simulation of possible explanation," it makes sense. And it looks the same from all angles since the "Chinese Long March 2D vehicle launched earlier on the same day, from China" on a polar orbit, meaning it could have passed over Norway, and this type of rocket is mainly used to launch satellites; it was so high up that it could basically look the same from any point in Norway.
That's the weirdest thing I've ever seen. I saw something like that here in Wyoming except they were two strait red columns, the looked like tares in the sky, it lasted for about and hour and there was a white column to the side of that one.
Got Google Earth? Calculating the distance from Norway to the White sea where the failed launch took place and combining this fact with the time of day this incident occured, you can very easily understand why what people witnessed was so spectacular. If anyone realized how reflective rocket fuel exhaust is, they would realize that the missle was far enough downrange from Norway to present a profile view of reflected light and the intensity of burning fuel magnified the reflection.
The sunlight is clearly reflecting the missile`s smoke trail. The perfect circle of the destruct detonation is made possible by the lack of atmospheric resistance. It`s no lie to say that I have seen Vanderberg AFB launch behave in exactly the same way the Russ failure did. It appears that this Russ piece of crap is going to be scrapped for having reliability issues.

@McLovinJuggalo28 it does look kinda like a supernova but it's to close to be that. A supernova also wouldn't have a trail that disappears behind a mountain top... And, if a star that close to us had died (which is almost impossible) we would have been fried like eggs so....I doubt it.

@o0Condrag0o It's not a spiral of light. Light is photons, and this is a bunch of spent fuel dust and gasses that glow probably because they're lit by the Sun. Remember, this is almost outside the atmosphere where the Sun that has set earlier can still illuminate them.
Second, the particles are going outwards all the time and when they stop exiting, a hole appears. It's pretty much self-explanatory.
It's not way bigger. It's of normal proportions for fuel that spits around in upper atmosphere.

this is a portal to the 4th dimension, and we are screwed, since this MUST be releasing something we don't know about. The blue trail leading away from the spiral is an entity from the 4th dimension sent here (i dunno how, possibly in a way that isn't easy, or else there would be more creatures from the 4th dimension) to use some sort of portal projection device (nothing like the ASHPD from Portal) to create a sort of wormhole between the 2 dimensions. That, or the Russians are getting smarter.

@KymeraGR7 I was thinking it was freaky too, but being a skeptic, I looked into it: youtube "Norway Cloud Spiral - Simulation of possible explanation," it makes sense. And it looks the same from all angles since the "Chinese Long March 2D vehicle launched earlier on the same day, from China" on a polar orbit, meaning it could have passed over Norway, and this type of rocket is mainly used to launch satellites; it was so high up that it could basically look the same from any point in Norway.

Got Google Earth? Calculating the distance from Norway to the White sea where the failed launch took place and combining this fact with the time of day this incident occured, you can very easily understand why what people witnessed was so spectacular. If anyone realized how reflective rocket fuel exhaust is, they would realize that the missle was far enough downrange from Norway to present a profile view of reflected light and the intensity of burning fuel magnified the reflection.

The sunlight is clearly reflecting the missile`s smoke trail. The perfect circle of the destruct detonation is made possible by the lack of atmospheric resistance. It`s no lie to say that I have seen Vanderberg AFB launch behave in exactly the same way the Russ failure did. It appears that this Russ piece of crap is going to be scrapped for having reliability issues.

Obvious detonation of a failed launch. I have seen Minuteman failures at sea and that`s just what this video depicts. I watched a failure from the shore once also. The same atmospheric pulse, then the missile was blown to Hades. A short while later, we heard the explosion.

I dunno if it's me or what, but if you look closely at the video, every second or so, the placement of the bright light in the middle of the spiral seems to quickly RE-position itself. It's movement, if anything and not an illusion, seems unnatural. Unlike anything i've ever seen.

@derbigpr500 well if you want to look into it on YT, many of the new russina sats being launched onto orbit all have that same glow at a set alt., of course this thing was spinning but in space there is nothing to stop its trajectory...it might of been as simple as one engine was at 100% thrust and one was at 43%...IT COULD 0F BEEN A SIMPLE AS A 1 IN 100 CHANCE TO SPIN LIKE THAT.
