  • Some tips:

    Use a screwdriver

Don't manhandle it--unless if you can afford a new fan/mobo

Try turning the pins at different angles and then removing the pin

  • Thanks. I've never dealt with push pin mounts before, and your video probably saved me a frustrating hour or (or worse).

  • i dont see it jerk!

  • does anyone know if there's any way to replace only the fan?

    (not the heatsink)

    thanks

  • @anatrakya The whole unit is integrated into one package besides the aluminum part. The fan is molded to the push pin mounts no way to remove just the fan.

  • how do i remove just the fan from the heatsink plz reply my pc is overheating

  • @bravefartt There are small clips on the sides but the fan has the mounting bracket integrated in so cant just remove it. Your heatsink wont have a mount anymore. I suggest getting a aftermarket cooler they are cheap some as low as 15-20 dollars.

  • @RickArter i've searched on web but havent find any CPU fan. d you think i can use a case fan. any thought about how to adapt one? (CPU has a 4pin fan and most case fans are 3pinned.). thanks

  • @anatrakya Just get rid of the stock cooler it is crap go and find a cheap aftermarket one like a CM Hyper 212 or a AC Freezer pro 7 rev 2.

  • Impossible to see what is going on because of the poor quality. But i give you credits for trying :) Btw 3 of my push pin needles are totally stuck in the down position. Doesnt help to tur the buttons any way. Even trying to pull as hard so i almost broke the fan frame.

  • @maasle Sorry this was one of my first videos you could try using something small and pushing the center pin back up though the board if that makes sense. They are a pain I know hard to seat hard to remove. Maybe one day Intel will get the hint and go with something like AMD has.

  • once you've removed the stocker, can you re-use it on another board?

  • @r0wsd0w3r Yes as long as it is for the same socket just be sure to replace thermal paste with new stuff and clean old paste with alcohol and lint free cloth at minimum.

  • what matters is not the way he did it, but the result. The end justifies the means.

  • My Factory made Fan is brought by screws can i replace it with a push pin???

  • @counterstrikenerd321 Why would you pushpins are terrible a bolt though bracket is far superior.

  • @RickArter Dont be a dick i got a CORSAIR H50 now

  • @counterstrikenerd321 Sorry wasn't trying to sound like a dick just was informing you, though you were saying pushpins were better.

  • @RickArter You got a steam account? Hit me up teamvietnamese

  • @counterstrikenerd321 H50 YOU ARE A FUCKING RETARD WHY WOULD YOU USE A H50 HOLY DICKS! PEOPLE CAN BE SUCH NIGGERS!

  • @KarazhanIsCake Not neccessarily. H50 is a great water cooling technique.

  • @counterstrikenerd321 A closed loop that can't compete with some air coolers. H50 is bad.

  • @KarazhanIsCake Keeps my CPU cool, all I care about lollo

  • thanks for the video but one question was you drunk during the recording

  • @smallville0forever This was one of my first videos I was nervous and a amateur.

  • hes helping you with something. sit down shut the fuck up and stop worrying about the god damn camera

  • @masterofjelly Thank You!

  • this is great, thanks!

  • recorded with your phone device?

  • cant really see it, the camera is moving all around

  • The tip about using a screw driver was the best bit. a slight twist at the end to break the bond with heat sink grease then put straight out

  • thanks mate, been trying to work it out for about 5 minutes, greatly appreciated...

  • Wow so cpu coolers are just push pins these days eh? Cool thx for the vid since I am getting a cpu cooler replacement from cyberpowerpc

  • hard to remove by hands .???

    :)

    nice How To

  • Thank you very much Rick :D. I'm installing a Zalman CNPS9700 NT.

  • Thanks for comments and for watching please subscribe if you like computers and my videos.

  • nice and informational, but the cinematography is terrible, much too shaky and half the time its not even focusing on the subject (the heatsink) use a tripod. otherwise it was good :)

  • thanks man i learned, with out u ma computer would of shut down for no reasons
