@alluna This is 156236. Lakeside serial numbers go from 1903 to 1949. Mine is a 1922 according to the last person that did a complete restoration on it in 1973. So yours should be older than that. You could tell it a player by the doors in front on top and bottom and also the flip down section in front of the keys to access the controls. I can't find a listing anywhere that decodes the serial numbers for Lakeside though.
@jg6364 Thanks so much, this really helps us out! We have the trapdoors all over it, I am contacting a local guy about restoration, but I have no idea what the cost would be. Little scared to find out, hmm.
@alluna The cost can add up very fast. I replaced all the hammers, shanks, jack shafts. dampers, new key tops and felts on this one and just the parts cost almost $1500.
Wow -- best of both worlds. I'd love to have the ability to MIDI-control my piano without losing the original pneumatics! This is the first time I've ever heard of it being even possible.
Can I ask what the serial number is on this piano? We just got an old Lakeside, and I think it is an ex-player piano. Our number is 140881.
