I tried secondlife once. It was an interesting idea, but at the end of the day it is just a bunch of fake land with random crap that the owners won't let you see... When I discovered that you had to pay to upload images, I stopped playing. It would be cheaper, easier, and much more professional to use a real modeling tool, and design levels for real games.
