  • Beautifully played, sir.

Story has it that Wilmot M. Smith and Archibald C. Weeks, two roommates at Cornell U., first set the school's song to the tune in 1870. From there, it really seems to have caught on. Brings back fond memories of my days in Ithaca, as well.

  • lol.. hey keep them comming your a classical genius.

long time no see.. yes I'm still listening :)

If i dont hear from ya.. hope you have yourself a happy holiday

nice music my friend..i'm always around

  • Sweet Mike!

Sorry for the late response. Life is hard sometimes...

I have to admit (with trembling voice and tears in my eyes...) I never heard this tune before. The good thing is I can't compare you with others... :-)

    Love,

    Per-Olov

  • @AndanteLargo Hello, Peo. Perhaps you just don't recognize the tune from my clumsy arrangement. Do you know the melody of your high school anthem? I'd like to hear a Scandinavian anthem.

  • Hi Mike,

No, there is no such a thing as a "high school anthem" in Scandinavia (Sweden). I can only remember the one we sang at every last school day before summer holidays. It is called "Den Blomstertid Nu Kommer". Meaning: the sweet flower time is coming... like..ish... Actually a nice tune! I will see if I can make an arrangement.

  • @oldwhtman You call this a clumsy arrangement??? It's beautiful!

  • Very nice playing! You are able to make the guitar singing - beautiful!

    best regards my friend,

    Wolfgang

  • @Vreci Vielen Dank, Wolfgang. I'm currently struggling with several difficult pieces, so I'm having to post easy pieces while I figure out how to play the hard ones. I'm not getting any better.

  • as always.. very nice..

  • Could you do Gymnopedie No. 1 by Erik Satie? :)

  • Nice melody Mike, good job! I`m working on that piece More and More that you Arr. you did a wonderful job with that tune,I`m going to uploaded soon. Thanks for the tabs.

    Best Regards!

    Jorge.

  • @23462252 Thanks, Jorge. I think you will find it less than challenging.

  • Excellent Mike.

We didn't have a school song at my doss-house.

We would be lucky to have more than 5 kids in assembly to sing it.

Truancy was an art form, when I was a kid!

    Cheers,

    Paul

  • @Gangly1 I'm always amazed at the number of expressions that were not carried over to the "American" dialect of English. What is a "doss-house"? As a child, I was too stupid to realize truancy was an option. I thought the only way to escape from school was to graduate. This occurred to me after flunking the third grade. I still haven't recovered from that humiliation.

  • No problem - I heard the melody... very lovely!

    Thumb up - Sabine

  • Another Homerun :-), very nice, thanks a lot

  • soo this is how it sounds heaven~~~

  • Well it's a good thing there's no crappy video out there.

Whoever searches for it will be pleased. :P

  • B-E-A-utifull

  • Beautiful~:D

  • You are pure magic :)

  • Hey! Why are your descriptions always so negative!? This was well played by the way :)

  • Thanks. I enjoyed it. Don't put yourself down--you're good. I did recognize the song. My school used that tune, too. Very relaxing, as always.--Donna

  • I really enjoy listening to you play anything. thank you

  • Bravo!

  • i didn't have to search for it 'cause i subbed a while ago :) but if someone searched for this and thinks it's a piece of crap he's certainly out of his mind. actually it was pretty heart warming :') and reminded me once again of why i play guitar, especially acoustic.

    well done
