  • I love how the guy to the right is looking at him like he's some kind of an asshole.

"What the fuck is he talking about?"

  • Have you all forgotten that there is a huge difference between CLIMATE and WEATHER. weather is a short term effect while Climate is in the long term. Yes, I know we got cold temperatures and huge snowfall but that was WEATHER not CLIMATE. In fact, in recorded history in the 80's, 90's, and now 2000's it has been the hottest temperature climate since it has been recorded.

  • @redmustang03 Haha yeah and it's pretty funny how every time there's a snowstorm in DC or a cold chill in March in Cali, suddenly you'll hear an idiot anchor here and there go "well I guess this debunks that whole Global Warming thing 'eh Jim?"

  • They can't predict more than few days out and you want us to believe these government funded liars? Also that hottest temp thing is a lie...check out phil jones.he admitted that it was an lie!Funny how liberals hate someone owning a business and getting rich...yet its ok for algore to get rich off of the global warming scam,,,,,,,,,,,hmmmmmmmm

  • I don't know about Ostriches, but I can tell you Inhofe has his head in his ass.

Inhofe sponsored or co-sponsored 95 earmarks totaling $151.5 million in fiscal 2009, I'd like to hear him talk about that.

  • Obama makes earmarks on his pillow everynite,!!!!!!!! Why don't hussien obama talk about that? lmao

  • How much did the woman from louisianna get? 151 million is pocket change compared to what nobama pd out to get the healthcare votes.

  • This is today's conservatism in a nutshell. All it is is projection. Take the truth about yourself and say it about your opposition. Talk about being on the wrong side of history! Why is this guy clinging so desperately to the past? What about the people who elected him? What is it about America that we have so many of this type of person? I guess our romance with the frontier has turned around and bit us in the butt.

  • What a wanker.

  • An idiot that believes the bullshit Manbearpig spews about the climate of our planet!

  • Yes,yes you are!

  • @cobraman96 Huh?

  • poolboy cleaner eh?

  • Respective holes?

  • climate change is real. It has been going on for BILLIONS of years. To think we as humans are responsible for warming the earth is so stupid.

    watch?v=dyxuVFzKypU

  • Climate change is real. Ask a scientist. The Weekly Standard is a Republican rag with zero credibility.

  • If there is global warming, why the fuck is it so cold? Record winters in Southern regions of the US, parts of China, etc. Global warming? I call bullshit.

  • Because it is global warming, which is concerned with global temperature, not regional temperatures. Some regions are hotter; some are colder. But overall, the earth is warming.

  • Well wontwince, the Earth is tilted on its axis 23.5 degrees. And as it moves around the Sun (the Earth orbits the Sun), it either receives more direct rays in the Northern hemisphere (that's the 'upper' more white half) or in the Southern hemisphere (that's below the equator (look that one up yourself)). We call these changing orientations to the Sun, seasons. Right now is the end of "Winter" (when Santa Claus comes (except to those of us who are Jewish)). Winter is cold.

  • Al Gore and the Scientific community and anyone with any sense is 'alone' in their global warming 'delusion'.

You know, I'm proud to say in the UK if any of our politicians were dumb enough to voice such an opinion they would kiss their seat goodbye.

In America it's a consensus view.

    That's fucked up.

  • Dr. Inhofe is a gynecologist- what procedure has he done that warrants doctor/patient privilege with John Ensign? I have a feeling "Ostrich With His Head In The Sand" has a completely different meaning in the C Street house. Ouch!

  • Impressive. First time I've seen a metaphor turn on the speaker.

  • I don't think anybody knew where that metaphor was going until it arrived, including Inhofe. So, he was probably more surprised than anybody.

  • Inhofe is an old (bent, rusted, broken) tool of rightwing energy corporations and executives who want to maximize current oil and energy production without regard for future generations or on-going climate change effects which will cause their successors to go out of business and eventually destroy the economy.

  • Why doesn't Al Gore just offer to debate Inhofe on prime time TV? I would love to see Inhofe bring up the Oregon Petition Project, with it's 20 000 scientists who claim climate change hasn't been proven.

It would take about thirty seconds to explain that the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine is a tin shack just outside Cave Junction Oregon, and all they have is 20 000 pieces of paper from people claiming to be scientists, only a few of whom claim to be experts in climatology.

  • gore had invested at least a million dollars in the ev1 project which general motors made disappear after it became too successful, did u hear him protest? and why is nobody of his alleged opponents nailing him on this fact! :)

  • @volumedealer1 I'm not a scientist, but it just seems like common sense that if you overdo anything, it has repercussions. If you eat too many twinkies , you get fat. If you spend too much you get poor. If you smoke too much you get cancer. I'm not sure what makes any sane person think that you can dump a bunch of chemicals in the air, water, and ground and everything will be alright. Magic maybe?

  • They ignored this guy in Copenhagen, here he is actually a legitimate political figure, a leader in the republican party. The state of our country is lamentable.

  • Is his story about gay ostriches or lesbian ostriches? Well, at least they lived happily ever after in the woods(?).

  • Inhofe, projection much?

  • neither the left nor the right should give a damn about gore in the climate issue, he is no scientist of any kind, hes just an upper echelon douche bag

  • I agree, but according to the mainstream news media, nobody gives a shit what REAL scientists think. So, all we're left with is dueling sound bytes from either Republican upper echelon douche bags or Democratic upper echelon douche bags.

  • You are absolutely right, in fact I would go so far as to say the entire global warming denial rant is based on nothing more than partisan hatred of Gore in ignorance of scientific fact.

  • Maybe in a post global warming world do ostriches live in the woods.

  • Why would Gore go out naked in the cold?

    He's not a republican

  • @mrcharliebobo

the only politics in science deals with WHAT ACTUALLY WORKS... in order to get a grant, you don't have to align politically with whatever board members distribute grant money, you have to show that your research will CONTRIBUTE USEFULLY to existing theories, ideally in a way that's applicable to general practice.

look up "cold fusion" and you may (hopefully) understand what i mean -- if your idea doesn't go anywhere useful, it isn't worth shit.

  • DUMB EEEEEE

  • @MrHelldogger...wow the level of stupidity in one post is impressive...the sun ain't on fire (its called FUSION) the planet has being significantly both warmer and colder in its history...the heat of the atmosphere is driven by the ability of it to hold on to solar energy; we are greatly increasing the primary heat trapping gas, thus its getting warmer, a lot warmer than its been since theres been human civilization;...what Bush and Gore do personally is completely irrelevant to the facts

  • Did you STUDY atmosphere in your 5th grade class? Look up atmosphere and you might UNDERSTAND that ours maintains a fairly balance temperature to support life. Without it or with modifications to it, it would not. It seems we have been modifying ours since we started to burn carbon based fuels.

  • @wtfoof Did you ever study the Thorasaurs, the rise of communism & their use of deceptive subversion, or the dynamics of the transportation industry?

  • ...so then the two boy ostriches started shagging each other, despite his claim that no one is gay in the Inhofe family and that therefore no one ever should be.

  • Inhofe = ROFL

  • 'Climate change,' from the perspective of meteorology, is less concerning to me than is a change in the POLITICAL climate. Right now, everybody is too uptight; it'd be great if we could all just chill out.

Implementing gov't policies which incentivize development of renewable energy makes sense. Cap and trade, for example, would make electric and hybrid cars more cost-competitive with 'conventional' cars.

Would you prefer to just continue sucking the gold-plated, jewel-encrusted cocks of OPEC?

  • No. I'd rather drill in N. Dakotas' Bekkan Shelf where there is 8X more highly refinable oil than in Saudi Arabia.

  • According to the statistic you've provided, your claim is that N Dakota has 200% of the world's known oil reserves. Obviously, this is impossible, therefore, your stat is crap. But, since no one has any expectation that you are in the business of distributing valid information, no one has been fooled by your ridiculous claims, except, maybe you. If that's the case, then I think you owe yourself an apology for allowing yourself to be so thoroughly and publicly PWN3D!

    BTW: you suck, MrHelldogger!

  • "Elite" is label thought up by conservative think tanks for clones to use.

Try watching on YouTube's "Climate Denail Crock of the Week" episode "Flogging the Scientists"

Otherwise you're just another misinformed - I'll not believe anything that I am instructed to - right-winger

  • ya fuck you too buddy.

ostrich's in the fucking sand whats this guy yammering on about?

  • The GOP and the zealots always make reference to some kind of phony science when it comes to climate change. On top of that, these narrow minded religious followers tend to confuse climate with local weather. If it snows, how come the earth's climate be warmer?? LOL.

My guess is that getting an education from the Pat Robertson's university, Glenn Beck or the Exxon climate fund can be quite a challenge...

  • Conspiracy theories are the last refuge of people who've lost the argument on the scientific merits. All the evidence confirms the fact that our greenhouse gas emissions are indeed impacting the greenhouse effect. The fact that carbon traps heat is basic physics, and the understanding of how the basic physics interacts in the climate is increasingly well understood. The dithering deniers are carrying OPEC's water on this. Inhofe sounds just like the Saudi negotiator did at Copenhagen.

  • It always makes me laugh when people show scientific studies to conspiracy theorists that disprove their conspiracy theory, and then get frustrated when the conspiracy theorists take those scientific studies as proof of a WIDER conspiracy to fudge the facts.

These people are nuts. Why would anybody be naive enough to think they can reason with them? :)

  • This is stupid

  • Haha. What? That was the most incoherent nonsense I have ever heard. :s

  • Ya I remember that ostrich story..... ?

  • Even those who are skeptical of "Man Made" global warming do not dispute that global warming exist, they only dispute the cause.

Why are they not outraged that their hypothesis is being taken out of context, and misrepresented?

Add to that, the idiots on the right can't seem to comprehend the difference between 'weather', and 'climate'.

It's nothing more then "Sell off our future for some big money NOW"!

  • fret2424 They are just doing as they having always done, morphing their tactics. When this tactic inevitably fails, they will come up with something new to deny with. Think "Intelligent Design".

  • I was wrong. Jeff Sessions is not the most retarded motherfucker in the senate.

  • Gosh, I wonder why Inhofe gets million of dollars from oil and gas companies? You don't think.......no, no, of course not.

  • @bigc028282 uh oh

somebody thinks Fox nooze is fair and balanced

  • @bigc028282 Well how about I lay down some physics for you. Does CO2 prevent heat from passing through it. Yes or No? greyfalcon. net/ candle2 Over the past 4 decades, -Less sunlight has been coming to earth -Less heat has been leaving earth into space -But more heat has been hitting the earth's surface -As if "something" has been increasingly blocking heat from leaving the earth. -In the infrared spectrum we'd expect for CO2 and CH4 greyfalcon. net/ solar0.png greyfalcon. net/ greenhouse
  • @greybraincell - "physics"??? LMFAO!! are you for real? or are you really that stupid???

  • @Mrcharliebobo

    Yes, physics.

But then again, you're probably going to tell me Economics can disprove Physics.

    greyfalcon. net/ ideology.png

  • Hahah!

You might want to think twice about trying to mock 'greyflcn' by calling him 'greybraincell.' That's not really an insult.

  • 99% of scientists agree that global warming is real and caused by human activity. I don't see Inhofe offering any scientific evidence that disproves global warming. The global warming deniers are the ones with their heads in the sand, ignoring the overwhelming scientific evidence.

And a couple of poorly worded emails don't counts as evidence.

  • @rocketman6464

Haha. phony science? Inhofe is a YEC. A Young Earth Creationist, and you want to trust him with accurate science? That's like putting children in the care of a convicted paedophile!

  • @rocketman6464

I agree, he is "one of the few balls."

  • Phony science?? LOL

I wanna hear yours!!!!!!! do you get it from Glenn Beck, Pat Robertson' s scholars or the Exxon science foundation??

  • i think you have it backwards.

  • @rocketman6464 funny how climate change deniers have no science background at all (not even elementary level). They paint themselves as "common sense" masters...

    fools.

  • lol, that made no since at all.

  • @issuesmattertome I know - Ostriches WTF?

  • "since"??? you're right it didn't, because it made SENSE!

  • @savior02

true. George W. Bush never existed!

  • These people believe socialism is something to be concerned about, but climate change isn't.

Why do people have to be this stupid? Really, why?

Inhofe, are you a scientist? No? THEN SHUT THE FUCK UP! You don't know what you're talking about!

Socialism, climate change....republicans need to stop talking about concepts they don't even understand.

  • Yeah why is it? The hole thing reminds me of the stupidity behind the denial of evolution.

However, I have some sympathy for those that think its a hoax to charge the surfs with higher taxes and impose greater controls, but just because the 1% take advantage of a crisis, does not mean the crisis is a hoax.

  • No, that's why I listen to what the scientists say, instead of Glenn Beck.

  • Because socialism has killed more people than AIDS, cancer, car wrecks & gun shots put together. Global warming has never killed anybody & can't even hold muster to 5th grade science. Well, 5th grade science back before public schools became communist/anti-Christ indoctrination centers.

  • Get your ass out of the Bible and stick your head in a science book. Goddamn, dude, you just spewed so many nonsensical statements it makes me ashamed to share this country with you.

    Read.

    A.

    Book.

  • That voice in your head isn't a scientist, dipstick!!

  • @Mrcharliebobo

I'm a liberal. We actually don't have voices in our heads. Crazy, huh? Tell Jesus I said hi though.

  • The children shouldn't be subjected to analogies like these coming out of the senate. Girl ostrishes with their ostrich butts sticking up in the air. Won't someone think of the children!

  • let the south secede. us here in the north will cherish education and liberty, and these foolish zealots will go right back to the dark ages, in jesus' name.

  • @ fl

I believe you might enjoy the Middlebury Institute.

Nice to see folks--amicably coming together over, really, a mutual recognition of their irreconcilable political differences--making an honest effort to seriously advance in public discourse, a strong alternative to something we all take as a permanent given.

With the national inflammation of the Tea Party hemorrhoid, I've been hoping to see more from these folks...so far, not much.

    On the YouTube at /user/middleburyinst

  • oh the irony. . . its unbelievable that Inhofe and the entire GOP are such obtuse assholes that they use an analogy that perfectly describes their ENTIRE outlook on climate to describe the people that actually have the empirical data on their side.

Call Al "chicken little" if you want to use a bullshit analogy to sell the "BURN EVERYTHING" ideology espoused by this embarrassment to the USA.

OK and TX must be full of people that simply slept through science class.

  • @Bunnicula71

    Well it's not just climate

Inhofe is a torture denialist as well.

    greyfalcon. net/ inhofe

  • lmfao!!! "empirical data"???? where did you get that crap??? how can you assclowns be so gullible???

  • Yeah dude, empirical data, y'know things that can be QUANTIFIED. I guess NASA is just makin' shit up.

"Assclowns" all, anyone who dares mention the FACT that data collected shows that something is desperately wrong with the climate.

"Assclowns" all, those overly educated people drawing conclusions from meticulously studied data are all part of the conspiracy?

You are the "assclown" who believes that this threat is something that you can place on a left-right continuum, ya moron.

  • If you want about 50 links that debunk all "empirical" data as fraudulent PM me, I'll gladly provide it. Even the God Father of the global warming movement doesn't agree with the data. You people are idiots.

  • I see that these magic links are conspicuously absent from your response, but you've managed to include a baseless insult. Kudos to you!

Are the websites going to be covered in banner ads trying to sell me tips on how to buy gold or make my penis bigger? My guess is YES!

Seriously guy, if you're right you win absoutely NOTHING but the status quo, yee fucking ha! If you are wrong (the vast majority of climate researchers say you are) we all coud lose big time. Why take a no win bet?

  • Because even the best scientists in the world can't tell you what will happen next week. Because if you can't tell me what's going to happen next week, I guarantee you have no authority to tell me what will happen in 5 years, or 10 years. Trends aren't "trends" because the weather doesn't TREND! Is that so hard to comprehend? If it trended, we'd be able to predict things, right? On top of the fact that all "significant" evidence has been proven either invalid or fraudulent.

  • Wow, " Trends aren't "trends" because the weather doesn't TREND!" "On top of the fact that all "significant" evidence has been proven either invalid or fraudulent."

That's empirically false. Weather most certainly has trends, the global avg temp has been trending oddly UP in the last 50 years. In some places those trends are extreme. The effects are measurable, both anecdotally and empirically.

The evidence hasn't been "proven" false, you are being lied to dummy.

  • No, it's not. What you consider a trend is merely a random "blip" in the history of the Earths existence. Just because something appears to have a trend, doesn't mean it's a trend. Our existence is minuscule in comparison; we have no authority to say what is a trend and what isn't.

Again, the evidence is false. The data being measured has been tainted, like the thermometers next to manufacturing facilities where production exhaust affects the ambient LOCAL temperature. That's just ONE example.

  • @njcarlos1 While it is true that there being a trend is not, in itself, strong enough evidence, it is not the only evidence.

The science of CO2 trapping heat in the atmosphere is not an extrapolation from data but a brute fact of nature.

We know that we put CO2 into the atmosphere; we know that that should lead to higher global temperatures (the 'greenhouse effect'); we have recorded a warming trend - thus this explanation presents itself.

These are the bones of the global warming theory.

  • I'd also like to clarify. My point isn't necessarily about global warming, it's about *man made* global warming. There is nothing we could do short of detonating every nuclear warhead on the planet that would actually affect the global temperature... and I'm sure that wouldn't do anything either. I'm not really certain you comprehend the magnitude of mass you're standing/sitting on; we have no affect on this beast, as much as you'd like to believe.

  • The Earth has a radius of just under 4,000 miles, effective atmosphere is about 7 miles. The volume of a sphere is 4/3 x pi x (r cubed). That means, by your analogy (apt word) taking something from the earth and putting it in the atmosphere has 383,097,890,476.19 times the effect. Congratulations!

  • @ njcarlos1

"Because even the best scientists in the world can't tell you what will happen next week... I guarantee you have no authority to tell me what will happen in 5 years, or 10 years"

    ---------------------

Nor can any human on this planet provide proof "god" exists. Case closed on that fairytale... using your logic.

  • What a stupid argument. This has nothing to do with religion. The definition of "faith" is believing without evidence. The difference is no one is telling you to pay for your prayers like they are attempting to do with cap & trade, etc. But your right, that logic is appropriate, and I'd never use it to impose taxes and regulations on an economy that's already struggling.

Thanks for proving my point that Global Warming is akin to Religion.

  • @njcarlos1

Aside from prepubescent molestations- the pope can't tell you what will happen in the next 5 minutes.I guarantee xtain idiots have no authority to tell me what will happen in 5 years, or 10 years. Nor can they offer a shred of evidence confirming a "gods" existence.

SCIENCE PROVIDES PROOF, FAITH PROVIDES CONTENT..

    Ignorance is Right-Wing Erotica.

  • i dont understand... what is it that the republicans think that gore has to gain by lying about this topic? what do they think is his grand scheme here? He's using science, from scientists. scientists dont have agendas, they are on one side of the aisle or the other, its like saying that math is conservative or liberal. its just nonsense.

  • @hossboss96

How about one billion dollars investment in cap n trade companies? No conflict of interest here just coincidence.

  • @minteko

What exactly are "cap n trade companies"? What do these companies do?

  • It is Gore who had his head in the sand and is ignoring the evidence?

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

  • lol at all the ignorant people who confuse WEATHER with global warming, as long as we continue to elect ignoramuses who don't believe in science we will get exactly what we deserve...inaction.

  • yknow its taxpayer money that is used to blow those up. Its nice to see that Inhofe is consistent in his ability to be COMPLETELY useless to everyone on all things.
